- Join in with Vint Cerf who returns to Libraries in Response to explore ways in 2025 for people to become central to how the internet is built out. How to "build resilient communities enabled by digital infrastructure and eco-systems, informed by local priorities and goals."
Richard Whitt will join us to expand his ideas for using AI to build trust into the internet.
Is the internet breaking? Splintering into two versions: a Silicon Valley version and a Chinese one? It's a new world full of old challenges and fresh opportunities. How does the co-inventor of the 50-year-old internet see the year ahead?
Join in to hear from Vint and Richard!
Speakers
Vint Cerf, Internet Pioneer
Richard Whitt, President of GLIA Foundation
Vint is also founder and chairman emeritus of People-Centered Internet (PCI), "a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to ensure that the Internet is a positive force for good that improves the lives and well-being of people around the world. This includes promoting connectivity, fighting disinformation, contributing to the discussion about technology ethics, supporting the development of people-centered applications and initiatives, advising policymakers, and leveraging technology to help communities be more resilient."
Richard is also President of GLIA Foundation, and head of GliaNet Alliance; author of "Reweaving the Web"
He will update us on his ideas: HOW TO CREATE AN ‘ECOSYSTEM OF TRUST’: and Aligning Two Dimensions of AI Agency.
Guiding Principle: "Individuals who interact with the digital world should have at least the same human rights as those which they currently have in the analogue world. In order to create an “ecosystem of trust,” a framework for AI must comply with and protect individuals’ fundamental rights."
Don't miss these visionaries as they take us into the new world of 2025!
It is what it is????
