  • The original Tulane Stadium was once called the "Queen Stadium" of the South. Now that the proposed Tulane Community Stadium has been announced, some alumni and staff members share their memories of the old stadium in this video.
The vintage stadium held 81,000 people and was routinely filled to capacity. Not only an athletics venue for Tulane students, the home of the collegiate Sugar Bowl and the NFL's Saints, it was simultaneously a playground, community gathering area and social outing for New Orleanians from 1926 until its demolition in 1980.
