- Throwing it back to Benny Greb's epic Festival solo ❤️🔥
Let’s be honest though - having the audience keep time for you can be a nightmare. However, with a room full of drummers keeping time (successfully), Benny absolutely crushes his solo, skillfully playing with time and dynamics before rejoining his bandmates. 🔥
This was an incredible way for Benny and his band Moving Parts to close out their performance. See for yourself why this was a highlight for many that attended.

Even in an audience full of drummers, physics is against you.
Shitty drummers are against you too 😆
fr
I just imagined all the different styles, bpms and time signature shifts they could all choose to do; at any moment. LOL
the speed of sound causes delay for those who didn't understand
Tennis balls people, tennis balls!
Never try this with a normal audience...
I work in a high school and they are the worst!
Like getting the church congregation to clap along
Like in that Devin Townsend video... I forget which song, but he has to tell em to "pick a tempo"
@@Dwendele Deadhead at the Royal Alpert Hall! One of the most legendary performances … ever … I have that one on repeat every so often
@@Mikegaryhouse 🤣🤣
Goes well until get general public speeds up, which is inevitable cause they cant keep time
Or slows down
@@crashlandon7957 or it cancels out and they actually keep good time
@@defectivepikachu4582 noup, it doesn't ever happen
Pretty sure they were dragging here lol
@@ethanmiller2062 well, technically they were on beat, but they were on the back end of it
When the crowd of musicians becomes your metronome*
Still sick
I like to see drummers do shit I can’t do.
Same. For me that's every drummer on youtube. So there's a lot of content out here for me.
@@stickychocolate8155 plenty enough for me as well Sticky.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 😂😂😂😂
Same
finally an audience that can figure out how to keep time
Yeah, an audience full of drummers 😂
@@shariqarain kinda the point…

They got faster though...?
Because there mostly drummers, lol!!!
How to take your life in your own hands as a drummer.
🤣
It sounds so good with the claps
He still have them pointers throughout to make sure they didn’t wonder too far off the beat. What a pro
Adam Cruz did this in a clinic where the audience clapped a 5/4 rhythm and he demonstrated making a groove swing naturally in that time. The audience kept up exactly. But of course only an audience of musicians could.
Nate Smith is another fantastic example of this!
I love how these drums sound 🥁
Benny the legend
very clever. its crazy how skilled you can be as a drummer, but it takes a clever, creative mind to get you anywhere no matter the skill level.
This was absolutely and utterly disgusting in the most awesome way possible
What do you mean?
How in the world was this disgusting
@@dakshpaliwal483 how in the world are you that dense?
That shit was nasty bro . I love it
@@dakshpaliwal483 disgusting = incredibly groovy/in the pocket
Everything about this is so good
I always enjoy Benny Greb music!
exelente benny, me encanta sus fills, su ritmo, toda una inspiración.
I ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS!! One of the greatest in my opinion. Love you Benny.
The groove master of today… he’s like a breed of Steve Gadd and Vinnie combined.
Reminding of Devin Townsend's "Love's a bitch for sure, but if you feel like it at any time though, pick a tempo"

Turns out Jack didn’t die on the island. He became a drummer in the flash-backwards.
Sonor and Meinls, such a beautiful combo.
He is probably a very proud German 😂
@@diegoaxexxx123he is Benny Greb after all
Great Benny Greb! Fucking Groove!!
there r just drummers in the crowd lol 😂
Hiding the one near the end just to hit them with the simple version to test em was hilarious to listen to.
Benny greb is amazing lol
you’re playing a dangerous game sir
There's some people in the audience who wouldn't get an audition for my band.
One of the best drummer 🥁🎶
Love Benny greb
Benny Greb!
Drummers are insanely talented when you think about it. They can move, use, and control all of their limbs at the same time to produce great music, as opposed to just using your fingers or something. And that's not to say others aren't talented or even as talented as well.
Love it, wish I could've been there, and that beat that beat!!!
I love Benny so much.
Love some Benny Greb
Benny greb ! Of course
way cool!! he is so good! and he was feeling it right through his body. :) 🌹🌱
As a drummer, growing up it used to absolutely kill me in school when all the kids would attempt to keep a consistent clap but gradually kept getting faster until eventually it was just a normal room full applause 😩 there I was still on the same count in a sea of people with no rhythm
That was awesome
A little bit ago I was playing a gig at a tent revival and fell off beat and looked at the crowd ( which was clapping) and the person I looked at to get back on beat was off In timing as well😂
I was at an OK go concert where they sort of did this, but he recorded and looped it so it would stay in time
That some bomb shit right there👍
The Best drummer tecnique
BADASS!!!
Spectacular, what a great idea. Glad it worked out for you, I bet it was a great show

Everyone has a place. 🥁
COOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!

Nah bruh cold 😂
The metronome never confuses them. They are the ones who confuse the metronome.
Smooth 🙆🏻♂️
It sound good with the clap 🤍
He looks exactly like the main male guard in Oz.
Wicked improv over a wavy beat lol.
💯 awesome
Explosive speed.
❤️
🔥💯
That's a unique setup.
Very nice 👌
very nice
This is the illest instrument ever.
Yo nice groove, this made me make the "damn some ripped ass" stank face
So cool
grebby got too much faith in his audience, even if they are all drummers😂😂😂
Bro i need that kit 😭
Omg this is genius
Yes. 🤘🧙♂️🤘
Great stuff! What's that thing he is doing with his his left leg on the hi hat called?
A hi-hat “chick” just keeping time with his foot on the pedal rather than with his stick.
🤯🙌
God he’s good
Who is this guy? So f- ing smooth!
Benny greb, amazing drummer, and his cymbals and snares are incredible!
Deeper pockets than Warren Buffett.
Nice 👍🙂

What a clever way to involve them in your solo. I’m gonna have to use that.
The audience got lost on every fill 😅
