igrenade That's a generalization. The Cayenne is a much better vehicle than the new XC90, as old as it is. You can customize a Cayenne to be anything you want and it's not too hard to make a much nicer interior than the Volvo.
I got to drive a gen 2 cayenne a few times. And this interior is amazing, not only visually but also proportionally. The center console is tall and spacious, the infotainment screen sits high, I only whish it had one of those joystick knobs for it. Really comfy.

I was genuinely surprised
I had the 09 Cayenne and I can definitely say the base unit is not fast in relative terms. it's heavy and bulky in stop and go but, when you drive it on highway speed it's pretty good and the handling it exhibits on wet and icey condition is just amazing ( it's geared for higher RPM and lacks low end torque)
Their is a difference between speed and agility and and the confidence it gives you and the feedback you get from the car
Speed is not what the Cayenne base offer but everything else besides that it does
Mechanical they have a few issues
1) cam sensor, 2Lifter, problems
3) water seepage in the drivers compartment shorts out the wireing of the car and you get key not found error, electircal Grimes left gave auto closes fails thry make good cars but they suck the blood of their addict customera
Stability is in top notch
@2:08 65mph one-handed on a wet undulating 30mph posted 2 lane with oncoming traffic... priceless.
That Cayenne must feel the most planted of any SUV... ever.

I've gotta admit, I got a little nervous watching you accelerate through those mild bends as you started the review, and once again on the highway on-ramp; considering the conditions.

This is an all wheel drive vehicle with all weather tires. It holds the road well on wet surface streets, no problem as you see demonstrated here.
He has proper tires, fantastic car dynamics and the PSM (I dont think) flashed once. He was not even close to this “limit”

Just to clarify. Platinum edition is just a base cayenne with a specific trim that I dont think is exclusive even.
Platinum edition means new model incoming.

I know *Luxury Demands* power liftgates, but I always thought they were stupid. Same with power closing trunks. Just reach up a few inches and close the damn thing. I've just removed a point of failure and weight.
Also, that 6 sounds pretty nice.
