    Massive shout out once again to Sarah Snook and Matthew Macfadyen on another truly incredible scene. Just when I thought their scene together from the first episode was their best performance together, they pulled out the balcony scene from underneath the carpet and smacked me on the head with it. Brilliant job once again to the two of them.
    PLUS: As much as I love all the writers of this show, apart from of course the head honcho himself Jesse Armstrong, I'm a huge admirer of Will Tracy's writing on this show. Been patiently waiting for an episode written by him this season, and I was duly rewarded with this one.

    That Tom is from St Paul specifically is so brilliant. Usually, when a character is from Minnesota, they make them from Minneapolis, which is the flashier, richer, more ostentatious of the twin cities, and Minneapolis residents tend to look down on St. Paul as boring or uncool. But secretly, St Paul is the more educated city, and, as the Capitol, the more politically savvy. St. Paul quietly gets things done while Minneapolis is too busy trying to look cool and trendy.

    Did anyone notice that Kendall says “I’m doing this for my kids, everything for them” and his ex Rava calls bs. But that’s exactly the type of comments Logan would make - that everything he did was for his kids. Which is a delusional lie and now Kendall is becoming his dad. Generational trauma repeating

    • @rualablhor
      @rualablhor Год назад +10

      I concur. The theme is killers are not born but made, Ken wasn't a killer, but is becoming. That is the most fitting and tragic ending imo. There are a couple other scenario, but that would be my first bet...

    • @AW-uv3cb
      @AW-uv3cb Год назад +7

      yeah this episode, what with the kids and at the end, when Kendall says that he loves his siblings but is not in love with them, and chooses to ally with a member of the board over the members of the family, is the most Logan-like Ken has ever been. He'd be really formidable if he stopped trying to be either a counter-Logan, ie. "a cool, progressive bro" or a Logan copy, ie. "I'll just ride roughshod over everyone and they'll obey". But I think he's getting there in the last episodes.

I mean, every insult that Shiv and Tom leveled at each other was absolutely true. Will there be redemption for any of them? Likely not, given what Armstrong said a few years ago (from a Vulture feature) - "I’m always a little suspicious about growth,” he said. “The idea that we all grew through life, had more perspective and wisdom and therefore maybe took greater care of people around us - I don’t think it is true.” I mean, I disagree with him, but it does make for a great tragedy...

    HBO using India as a plot point and not even allowing their subscriptions in India is cruel for Indian fans of Succession.
    Anyways, thanks for the shoutout HBO

    The first interview Matthew did with the podcast was excellent. This was a strain and through no fault of Matthew…. Just such a awkward vibe. What a disappointment as I was so looking forward to this.

    The podcast show is really going after Tom's character. Feels like Matthew had to defend Tom through this entire interview.

    Logan is a MASTER manipulator! So, I'm going to predict tha the is still very much alive, in seclusion somewhere. It's possible. Maybe Logan put on a show on the airplane for certain people not in on it, asking a trusted few to give him chest compressions and pronounce him dead. We really don't know what was in that body bag we saw unloaded from the plane. Connor's been going to see Logan, but it could be a closed casket, which he assumes is Logan. So, he could be alive laughing somewhere, seeing what his kids do, thinking he's gone. Or he could NOT be! I don't know. Those thoughts just crossed my mind.

    Nice to hear him actually talk without cussing! Always speaking with cussing gets really old.

    I think the funeral will be the last episode and something huge will happen. Maybe Logan will come back :) Remember even Brian Cox said he was at the shooting of this episode...We shall see!

    The show has only gotten worse and worse without Brian Cox. These are not serious people.

      He was going to go at some point, we all knew... I'm neutral about his death, but it was rather an odd, almost mysterious (death) episode intended or not.

      The show is named Succession... meaning Logan was going to go fwiw. Perhaps I'm odd, but Logan was never the main character... though he was always there tho not there, you know?
