Thanks for the review, I was about to buy one but it's a DVR on which you can't watch live TV, there's no conventinal EPG and it comes with £99.99 price tag ... computer says no.
You can absolutely watch live TV. His video here is only covering the PLEX DVR setup for recordings. You can't view live within PLEX but you certainly can in several other ways. It will be detected by a device such as NVidia Shield which uses its own EPG. You can also watch on the SiliconDust apps for various devices. The HomeRun software itself (on Windows, XBox, Nvidia, etc - it's all rather uniform) does have EPG but it's the "slice" form, rather than a traditional grid view.

+richie2372 Thanks for watching :). Sadly the Connect will only record from an aerial. The 'Prime' model supports cable however it is currently only available in USA.

I've been thinking about getting some kind of OTA solution for a while now (I only do netflix and plex atm), and I've been looking at the tablo, but then plex had this HDHomeRun added in, so I thought I'd check it out before spending a hundred+ dollars on something.
You can watch using another app or device WHILE Plex is recording. It is dual-tuner. It isn't limited to just this Plex setup.
The real issue with Plex DVR will be the lack of ability to record DRM channels.
I agree, the problem lies with the HomeRun unit really as that only supports free-to-air. Whether the providers of DRM encrypted channels will ever allow the feature is the biggest obstacle.

Unless I'm mistaken, I didn't see anything specifically mentioning that they can play/record DRM channels and allow playback on other devices.
James Rufer HDHomeRun Prime has a slot for a CableCard. The CableCard is used to decrypt encrypted channels.
Yes, I owned one. Decrypt DRM channels to view but not record.
