A lot of hate on here, tho not to be expected. It's crazy how few people can go into something with an open mind. I went into this thinking, How the hell are you talking shit on Brunson for doing this? Came out thinking you made some pretty valid points. I still have mad respect for brunson doing what he did, especially considering he has never actually been paid what he is worth yet. Even if the Knicks make the Finals, the amount of endorsements he can make can more than make up what he sacrificed. But I also agree with the points you made here, and very much realize he is taking a huge risk, but I cant help but admire it. Never expected it.

Erm, a lot of those same guys that you mentioned have been helped by Dolan. Tyson Chandler being given his personal jet to spend time with his dying mother and go to games. Spreewell was brought back into and is part of the organization. Kenyon Martin just said literally the opposite of what you said. He vouched for Dolan and being a player backing owner. You're not looking at what he did. He's not leaving money on the table, and it's not like he had two deals and took the lesser of the two. He's got 156 Million that he will receive. With your logic, if he gets hurt he makes way less because the value has dropped. He has his future locked in and isn't hoping for the future. There are 30 teams and only one wins, but you can't max out 15 players on a roster and it's not baseball. They have a limit that has nothing to do with the owner as to what they can do with how much they spend. Phoenix did what you are suggesting for Brunson with 3 max players and it got them what? Denver has gotten worse two straight years because of finances. Boston is paying all their players because they only have a couple years before that team has to be blown up. Your reasoning doesn't take into account the actual CBA and how teams have to navigate now. And if he's taking less so others can eat and focus on winning? that's pretty damn smart.

      1. You’re playing yourself thinking a jet ride, seats at a game, and getting to “hang around the organization” makes up for $millions lost.
      2. Brunson was going to get the full max unless he said different, it had nothing to do with whether or not other teams were competing for his services. He is the face of the franchise..
      3. You take narratives collectively, meaning not just the ones that support your opinion. I am specifically pointing out his exploitation of great players and by the time they exit their career is in the douldrums. Came in an All-Star and left a role player seen at the end of their careers. He persistently fails to put together winning teams and the players pay for it. It has nothing to do with his cap space but his lack of skill, understanding, and expertise when nit comes to the game of basketball.
      4. Keep in mind it is the owners voting for the salary cap and then cry to the media how hard it is to dupe the likes of the common fan.

@@therockneverstops8261 you invalidate yourself by not taking narratives collectively. You can talk about things you don't know much about and it shows you're going to say what you want. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can't make bad decisions. You bring up Melo but fail to mention Phil Jackson that took the money to go to NY just to much things up with a system that wasn't going to work with the players on the team. And they have a competent front office that got Dolan to stay out of business matters. The team has to build relevancy, it's not a stock you just pump money into and tell people it's going to be great so they invest. In the end, none of what you said matters because he made a choice. Not everyone treats money like a fishhook in their mouth when making decisions. Terrible Malcolm X reference by the way. He wants to win and to him this is the best way. Enjoy Paul George since your perspective is get as much as you can whenever you can.

Eh u missed the point a bit.. it ain’t about the money it’s more around the fit. They went all in on chemistry. To be able to do that, they have to understand the new CBA rules. The CBA rules make it a lot harder for teams to make certain moves. This is why Leon Rose is considered a top 5 GM in the league right now. Thibs needs to extend his lineup to give the proper people who play that long and are injured more often than not. That’s why we have Josh hart and devo on the bench, alongside miles McBride and others. Cam Payne not too long ago, still need to decide on a center but for the sake of conversation, Achiuwa. Also, that Brunson stuff was always gonna come. I remember this coming out at the start of free agency that he was probably going to take a pay cut. And how he studied the greats like Tom Brady, Pat Mahomes, Tim Duncan and others. I can understand where you’re coming from about this, but you’re off a bit. Hope this helps.

I get all of that. Those comparisons play with WINNING franchises, a point I made in the video, I’m sure you just forgot. This IS about the money because it gives the player the illusion of control around the situation they are in and it rarely turns out the way players hope and then they are left holding a light bag, mad and disappointed.

@@therockneverstops8261I’m just seeing it differently brother. You got a bit of pessimistic view and I don’t blame you for that. New Yorks track record is shit, I’ll be the first to say that. We got different people in control, James Dolan really not involved anymore. I think we will be at minimum be in the conference finals by this year.

1:10 lmao bruh they would not have beaten the Celtics. The Celtics play a 5 out starting 5 that no one in the NBA can defend. They have two wings that can combine and average 55-60 in any series. The two wings are also all NBA defensive level defenders. Their backcourt has two guards that are two of the best in POA in the NBA. They would've beat the knicks in 5
