    This is truly an optimal spot for both teams. Lakers and LeBron get another young athletic player who can catch and shoot. His age isn’t a matter bc the Lakers are ready to compete now, and even though LeBron rarely plays with rookies, this would be an exception since Dalton isn’t your typical project player that needs time to develop. This is great for Dalton since people questioned his defense, and on the Lakers, he would serve as an off the bench scorer for the team, and not really forced to do more outside of his role. I forgot if his playmaking was questionable too, but that won’t really be needed with other ball handlers like LeBron, Reeves, DLo. Out of anyone they could’ve had, Dalton was a great option

    • @therockneverstops8261
      @therockneverstops8261 11 часов назад

      I agree. I foresee Dalton looking great playing with Jared Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent alongside him to cover any defensive inefficiencies. I think Dalton comes in and makes an immediate impact and potentially even starts, moving Reeves to the bench. If the Lakers are healthy they become actually one of the deepest teams in the NBA.

Keep in mind that the NBA gets a new influx of talent every year in the draft and when they are choosing at the Top of it, he can easily be replaced as when Cade supplanted Killian Hayes and then Ivey supplanted Killian to where now Killian is out of the NBA. The Siakam acquisition and post-season success somewhat accelerated this team's timeline. If anything, the front office hasn't been quick to reactionary moves, so maybe he does stick around. • @therockneverstops8261

      I can see that. Ivey is not a big 2-guard, he’s a big PG where defensively he can be a problem for other PG’s to shoot over or get past considering Ivey’s length and athleticism. Offensively, if they put a PG on Ivey instead of Cade, which is likely, Ivey has the size advantage to shoot over them or overpower them on his forays to the rim on drives.

    Suggs is a near ideal fit next to Mitchell. Replacing Garland with Suggs makes Cleveland better. But I dont think Cleveland can do that straight up considering Garland's value. And they literally can't anyway. You have to include Isaac to make the money work. But do you really want to trade your two best defenders if you're Orlando? I'm not sure Garland is quite _that_ good on offense -- especially in the playoffs -- to make up for how much that would hurt their defense. KCP is a good defender but he's not Suggs or Isaac. Let alone both. And Suggs, Paolo, Franz and Carter will continue to get better as shooters and playmakers, reducing the need for someone like Garland. There's no reason Orlando can't have an above average offense this year or next combined with an elite defense. That makes them a title contender. Especially since they can actually match up with Boston. _And_ they can re-sign this team and stay way under the second apron. I just don't think you need to speed up the clock by getting a third max guy. Just let Paolo and Franz develop. They are overburdened now but in 3-4 years they'll be fine.

    I think Ivey needs to be our 6th man off the bench as our backup PG. I think its a role that would really elevate this team. He would be able to be the number 1 option in that second unit . I just hope we are done giving starting positions based off of potential and let the best man win in training camp. If Ivey can win that spot over THJ/Beasley i will be happy but i dont want him just given that spot . We won 14 games last years , i want to see shooters around Cade to evaluate if he is truly the #1 we need .

      I wouldn’t say terrible. Ivey is out of position playing floor general instead of scoring off guard. Keep in mind it’s only going to be his 3rd season.

      @@therockneverstops8261 No he's not Cade is the point and the floor general. The problem is Ivey isn't getting any better which means he isn't being developed properly. We've seen it so many times with the Pistons, so many players have left here and gotten better that speaks volumes about their player development.

      @@therockneverstops8261 I stand by tgat take 100%. He cleared space and drafted what was looked at as one of the top 3 or 4 young cores in the league. Coach Casey stepping down was odd to me. His coaching philosophy was perfect to develop the team. If he was forced out, whoever did so deserves massive blame because he had the players fully bought in and there was a sense of magic in the air that is rare to see. That said, replacing him with who they did was the worst decision possible. The new coach had major red flags in regard to his locker room culture, player development, etc. I was worried he'd hurt one of the young guys' development like with Ayton and, sure enough, he did just that but worse than even imagined Weaver rebuilt about as well as you could ask for. Gores going over his head reportedly to sing last year's ciach was the biggest problem..

Some people are also thinking that Cooper Flagg might be considered as well as he played on the select team this summer. Other than that it’s a good group of players. Not sure if they can win the gold medal again as France might comeback with more experience along with a more seasoned Victor Wembenyama.
