Forcing long-time users to pay $129 by seriously limiting the free model is really disappointing. A humble 35$ or even 50 would make sense, but $129, for unlimited notes?
I have been an Evernote user since 2013. I have always really liked the tool, and it has helped me a lot in my day-to-day life. Now they have decided to limit the use of notes and notebooks, which will certainly backfire. I will definitely change tools.
At least they let you access old notes and notebooks. It's a bad business decision.

I can't believe they've done that. Legitimiately. People like me have been using it as default note storage. Now I have thousands of notes. How think gonna pass them over? You might not realise but notes is how I cope.. I use it like a digital diary. To get through the day. And even more, it's private. I don't even tell people using it. Because that's what it is. A coping tool. Now had to embarrass myself to ask my parent that I need debit card to upgrade. Revealing that I have account on Evernote. And use it daily basis. Unknowing what's there.
I hope add password protect as well to notes. I don't want them falling to wrong hand.
Evernote's new owners have explained the price increase by saying that Evernote had been 'price stable' for a very long time and the old pricing structure could not support the maintenance of the app and needed upgrades to the app.
Switch to notion, the better app that doesn't prompt you to upgrade every 2 seconds
Notion doesn't come anywhere close to Evernote as a notetaking app. I use both of these apps, but for different purposes (Evernote for notes, Notion for tasks).
I'm now nervous of trying other apps because they could pull the same stunt in the future
Evernote -- While this is great, your leaving out important Security & Privacy implications of AI search. You send our note data to a 3rd party and not telling users the implications that could occur with that 3rd party AI Vendor such as OpenAI. Is Abuse monitoring turned on etc as that would expose our notes to employees of the 3rd party AI your using, mentioning disabling of Model training isn't enough in my opinion.
It is about choice. If you are not comfortable using the AI Search, no problem. The Standard Search is always there. This is just an option for those who wish to use the more advanced AI Search, with obvious caveats, that the data will be processed externally with a certain set of conditions.
I’m curious to know where you observed that they will be using a third-party AI model. Please provide any links. I want to research this. AI search does not need to be third-party. They can build their own AI model on their servers to run privately.

I've used Evernote since the beginning. Its sad we have to part ways, but I guess it will be interesting moving my files from the Evernote map to Google

Evernote is not able to deliver a reliable note app. A note app is basically just a set of lots of text files. Displayed within a richtext editor.
I strongly doubt that this AI feature will lead to any helpful results.
what is the best text app and the most secury that text will never lost ?
Serious question: who needs this? Who is out there like "aw man I love my notes but I wish a machine would give me abridged versions of it?" Is this why you're asking for $130 a year for a barely functional service?
You know what I need, Evernote? More than fifty notes. You shouldn't have to pay $15 a month for something that comes for free in a paper composition book with half the pages ripped out.
Evernote keeps asking for subscription even though I clicked on 'NO'. This small thing makes people annoying and try to find alternative...

Can you please possibly consider making different versions of Evernote available if people like the old style from 2-3 years ago versus the brand new or recent version? Maybe you can call one Evernote classic versus Evernote 1.0 and 2.0. unless you can actually incorporate different planogram or working formats within one app without making it giant. Thanks
how do I disable the AI features??? I have been writing to Get Support and all I get is a copy paste message to look on RUclips.....
With a paid subscription, the application works very slowly and crashes constantly. impossible to work. perhaps a lawsuit and highlighting such poor performance on social media will teach you to at least respond to support calls?!

There was NO notification for this! Not an email or NOTHING.
AND there's not even a guarantee that if I did pay $120+ for the year, that my notes would be restored!

Yeah exactly it. Leave us USERS with PEACE. I know it's new direction for them. But consider the bottom guy here. The ones who poor and using as private note storage. Highly disrespectful. I hear you are eliminating the free version. Nice of the executive team who inherited a large user base and continually mutilated and overcomplicated their product and abused their users to where we are today.
The new owners have recognized the problem of the "overcomplicated" app and they are trying to fix the issue.

Too expensive the new system, 9 dollars to write stuffs ? at least do a version of 3 dollars for low profil budgets, and we can write a number of notes each month with this price and have decents functions.... it's awful what you have done with the new system
Disgraceful to destroy this app for free users. If the yearly fee was more reasonable I'd consider upgrading but it costs more than Amazon Prime - mental pricing

Hello Evernote, I realized that he can have 7 days free until the 11th, I confirmed it and I was automatically charged €100. If I would like a subscription, I will buy it in that event for €60.
