Kishi works for ps5 remote play, so as an owner of series x, ps5 with a gamepass subscription, this will see my switch getting much less use
How do you get it to work on ps5?
Which version did you get the one for xbox or the regular one?
I got the Kishi for iPhone. It worked automatically with Xbox and Ps5 remote play with the app. Didn’t have to do anything to set it up. Buttons were “Xbox” layout but the PlayStation buttons worked where they should be

i got one, i was very skeptical about cloud gaming and everything connected to it, but i'm loving my kishi on my iPhone 11. I love having an xbox series x, my geforce now, steam link AND my remote play for my ps5 on my iphone.
Just curious. Can the kishi run games like halo infinite? Or is it specifically just cloud games ?
@@ninjaxkai basically its a controller for your phone, so if u can "control" it with a controller, u can control it too. But its for the phone as in, it has no bluetooth, no wireless stuff, its a plugin controller (which is really awesome)
@@ninjaxkai I play Halo infinite on a Moto G Fast and Moto G power (2021) and never have major issues. The Kishi is just a gamepad for your phone nothing more, you play through the game pass app on Android or through browser on iOS. Right now best buy has the Kishi for $60

Loved this review. I made a mistake and ordered the android version because it was cheaper so I bought an android to iPhone converter.
Did that even up working? I imagine that may mess with the fit, no?
Cloud gaming is close. But what kishi is great for is emulators. I love how every emulator will just work with it. This is hands down my favorite way to emulate classic games and even more modern games like gamecube and ps2
What emulators do you use?

@@Cub__ the emulators themselves no. The roms are like a few gb each the highest is 7 for Metroid prime trilogy. But usually the games are 2-4gb
Just picked up a Moto G Fast and Kishi specifically to play emulation and XCloud. My Xbox S finally crapped out and instead of buying a new console (Im primarily on the go with mobile games) I opted for this mobile set up. Works wonderfully, obviously there's some lag here and there and the screen quality suffers but to play triple A games like halo/Forza 5 or even Skyrim right on my phone anywhere on the go is a pretty amazing trade off. I also have a Moto G power that's works when I'm at home so I'm not killing my dailys battery all the time.

not really. basically once these games disappear from xbox servers, that's it. its gone. there's no physical media that you can reminisce with you kids 20 years from now. there's no box art, no manual/booklet, nothing, like it never existed. the whole concept eliminates the game's actual value.
@@BobRooney290 I kind of agree with this.. but that's not all games are about, we can still enjoy the coolness of them in the time that we have them.

@@BobRooney290 you buy a digital game and you technically don't own it....so if later on down the road something happens to company or what ever you won't be able to play it anymore. Physical games you physically own it.....yet used ones for like 10 bucks goes for 60 full price digital....they need to fix that it is a rip off for not being able to have the rights to own it.

Brought a Kishi yesterday to use it with my S10 and downloaded xcloud. The screen is off centre though and pushed all the way to the left with a big black bar down the right side of the screen. I've changed resolution but it hasn't made a difference. Is there a fix to this or it a glitch ?
Just tilt the phone upright and then baxk to the side, I had the same issue

Are either version of the controller case-friendly? Watching the video, it looks like you'd have to take the case off everytime you want to use it.
He said in the video that most cases wouldn't be supported, so I'm assuming only really thin cases would work i.e. ones where you could get the usb-c connected with the case on.

Nope. Sounds nice and loud! I thought that also. Didn’t have any noticeable volume gain on my S20 when I removed the rubber bumper though. Hence I do not think it is covered.
There are pass through slots (air gaps) in front of the speakers on the device so that the sound comes through clear. 👍
So you cant play this out of the house that has the xbox? You said you were at far side of your house and it was ok, no cant play while on the bus or train for example?
Yes you can play away from home over wifi or cellular network but quality may suffer.

Razer Kishi is 2 steps from being perfectly designed. The elastic back part should use a belt pull kind of like a seatbelt in a car where its wound up most likely in the left bridge. Probaly a good idea to use a tear proof material like a seatbelt too. As for buttons they should use the same quality as their wolverine controller. Of course this all might make it heavier and probably increase the price tag to $100 but it would be worth the premium feel.

My gf just got me one, and I love it. I used to use an Xbox controller to play minecraft on my phone, but I didn't always have a good place to prop my phone up. 10/10 for me.
Is it me or did he say no lag or delay. But I can clearly see issues with screen tearing and stutter especially when he shoots. Looks pretty terrible tbh.
That's the xbox streaming service. I'm pretty sure he was talking about that the controller does not have any lag or delay in responding to the game. The screen tearing and stutter is different from the controller.
for me the passthrough charge doesnt work if the otg connetion is turned on. if i turn it off, id be able to charge but that disconnects the controller.

you can play even android games as long as the game has controller support, for xbox games pass and other cloud gaming services i cant cuz those arent available in my country yet which sucks

Yes they are identical however the Xbox version has an Xbox logo on the home button. And the Xbox version comes with 2 weeks of free Xbox Gamepass. But thats the only difference

@freesf ftrefv after looking into it i won't buy one now. I wanted it for PUBG but found out that it doesn't even work for it anyway. Sucks you spent the money it for it to not be worthwhile.

My problem is this, the “case” needs adjustment with the razer kishi or a “dongle” from the “case” to use it at other parts. Does that make sense?

Man if game streaming takes off for Xbox which I do feel like this will, this could be a great switch competitor but you get to play high end games
I wouldn't even call it a switch competitor since the switch is kinda trash to be honest, all actual and next gen consoles are better that the switch, most high end PHONES have much better specs than a switch so... Lets not fool ourselves, the nintendo switch is a literally trash "console"

Cheloso15 clearly I’m talking about competition of portable console gaming. Just because switch is weaker doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a significantly better gameplay experience than phones. It doesn’t matter if phones have higher specs bc the games are generally trash in comparison. there’s always some loser focused solely on specs bc they’re a “hardcore gamer” 🙄. It’s not an accident that Xbox which is waaaay more powerful lost this generation by far even with a lead in release time vs the switch

there are some games that are not supported and at first glance you would think this means you can not play the games with the onscren overlay that do not support this controller but if you do some research you will find that there is an app called mantis pro beta that is free that lets you do custom overlays
I was about to switch to play station because you can stream on your phone but when I saw razor kishi and Xbox game pass streaming it stopped me from switching teams from Xbox to playstation

I wpuld play with clip on my s9 and worked good only thing i ran into was the lag from the controller cause you have to use bluetooth.
This controller won't have the lag bc it doesn't connect via Bluetooth. 👍
I'm upgrading my gaming phone, never used a direct connection, does this effect the ram like a blue tooth connection does? Does it have rumble?
Ram? why would it affect ram? these phones have more than you will probably ever use....
@@FaZeredemption3 my note 20 ultra can't handle PS2 roms. My Galaxy S5 can play PS1 and even some PSP games no problem. The Note 20 can handle most PSP games I find. it also handles Gamecube really well. Trust me, the difference between running bluetooth controllers and plug in controllers shows. Since phones arn't really designed for this.

I've had one for months now and its great for some quick downtime gaming. I use a note 9 with ps2 Nintendo ds playststion gamecube emulators. No lag like regular Bluetooth

Yes in a way there's two services the remote play and cloud streaming , 1. Let's you play games saved on the hardrive of your xbox (leave it in sleep mode ) over WiFi you gain access to your whole dashboard and ui of your xbox on your phone and play certain games (gamepass for sure all are playable )
2. Is the regular cloud streaming you don't need an actual xbox just the gamepass account to stream the games

You could get an Xbox controller and a clamp for your phone for around $80
I've tried that with my phone and xbone controller, it works, but the weight of the phone makes holding the controller feel weird. You're better off to get this device, I have one on order from amazon and they're on sale right now for $56 usd

Original controller with phone holder is way more comfortable for real gaming not just concept.
I wish I could say the same but having the phone on a clip, even though I do like having the OEM controller in-hand, the physics of it has weight where, in some positions (like if you're lying down on your back and playing) it makes my hands and wrists tired and I feel like I'm straining to keep the screen and/or the controller where it would naturally sit in my hand. If a phone weighed nothing, I'd totally agree with you. The kishi so far has been way better. Just my experience

@ro bo get AirPods or the razer AirPods. But I did hear that people say that the razer AirPods suck but the iPhone AirPods are the best for shooter games.
To hell with that idea. Rather have Bluetooth gaming headset over cable but I hear where you are coming from with the cable which would have less lag over wireless.

I noticed that you can't plug in the phone while the app is already running like an emulator app it will not detect it and you have to restart the app after you plug it in in some cases. I noticed on dolphin MMJR that I had to go in and program all the controls for GameCube It did not work straight out of the box and I thought it was incompatible but I just had to map it.
I currently use the PPSSPP emulator, do you think the razer kishi would be compatible with the emulator I use?

Hear me out, try Google Stadia. The library is growing and if you have more than 10-15mbps it works pretty dam good. You can try Destiny 2 for free just to see if it works for you.
I’ve tried to use Xbox cloud on my iPhone 8, and iphone 11, but every game I play overheats the phones.
Video and audio cuts in and out constantly until it crashes the app in 30 seconds.
Frankly, cloud gaming is a VERY bad idea…
Interesting. Cloud gaming is all I've been doing for the past three months and I haven't had any of those issues that you have. I'm not arguing what you're saying or anything like that. But, for me so far, cloud gaming HASN'T been a very bad idea. I wish everybody could have no issues with it like I have. Id be frustrated just like you if I had
@@givemeahandle Maybe I just got unlucky, but I wouldn't be surprised if some people had the same problems. These are console games being played on a small screen, with barely any cooling systems.
Frankly, I am surprised they made it this far.

Does it not have a slot where you can plug earphones in? Like traditional controllers have a headphone jack? I'm not a fan of using the phones speakers

Apparently it doesn't automatically detect it. I read some other dudes comment about it working with emulator & he was saying it didn't detect automatically so he had to plug it in, restart the emulator then map the controls in the settings. I want to get one but I want to know if it's completely compatible first. Did you end up getting one for yourself? If so, does it work for you?
