no spiders came to hang out with you? I am surprised you leave all your doors open. I would be super paranoid about spiders climbing into my bed 😂

thanks, the duty free alcohol on arrival airport, helps to relax oneself, and The Datai is an excellent Resort
My favorite part of this gorgeous hotel are the monkey's. I can tell you that I would spend the entire day feeding & playing with them in or around the pool! I've been eating nasi goreng my entire life as my mom makes it on special occasions. She's from Nicaragua & my Dad was born in Amsterdam (they met & married in Los Angles!). I believe she acquired the recipe from Indonesian friends, not sure. Anyway, I think this my my favorite place you've stayed in so far. Great share & great song, too!

the beach villas probably all similar. the one i had nice, far enough away from the bar/watersports area, and a nice location on beach...

Do they give complimentary mini bar for beach villa? I mean for that price its ridiculous you still need to pay 8usd for a can of coke lol..

We are headed to the Datai’s Beach Villa in two days. Is there anything you wish you had asked for but didn’t realize until it was too late?
Great, enjoy the place. Must do's there - Sunset drinks at Beach Club Bar, Kayak out to the Island next to the Andaman Hotel; get the macaque monkeys in early - they love the fruit the Datai give - your Butler will stock up the fruit as much as you like. Dont touch the macaque monkeys - but if you leave fruit around the Villa gardens, they are lovely company ;-)

both excellent. most ppl would say the datai is better; st regis has a lovely bay and beach area too...

datai has a more malaysian feel... get a beach villa at datai as the other accommodation is in the jungle. st regis has more sea view rooms. you decide mate...

The Beach Villa at Datai is better than anything at Ritz. Otherwise both places equivalent. At Ritz get an Overwater Villa; the jungle Suites so so...
