    Great video! I know this sounds weird but when I have a fragrance that's too strong for hotter weather or is just a heavy fragrance but I still want to wear it, I spray it on my ankles and behind my knees. The distance from my nose and others noses seems to soften it up and make it wearable for daytime or in the heat.

    My favourites are the Dk Amber and ginger lily and the velvet rose and oud. I go back to them all the time. I've stopped passing their counter now as I know I'll fall for another one and I have so many fragrances I need to start using them up! The smaller bottles are a really good idea!

    • @alittlebitlaura
      @alittlebitlaura  7 лет назад

      Love those together and I've stopped passing their counter as well since I have far too many (not so mention all the samples!) and now they're offering a smaller size of the intense fragrances, so I will definitely be going for those in the future. :)

    What a great video. I love Jo Malone fragrances and Dark Amber and Ginger Lily is also my favorite fragrance. You have come up with some unique pairings that I must try. I wear English Pear and Freesia paired with Wood Sage and Sea Salt very often during the summer.

    I purchased bronze wood and leather , I pair it with an old Salvatore Ferragamo 1999 grapefruit lemon scent. It works amazing since there is already a little grape fruit in the bronze wood. Amazing scent for sure. My next purchase will be the Dark amber ginger lily. Love your enthusiasm for Jo Malone.

    Hey Laura,I know I mentioned I'll be back to Jo Malone soon,well soon came faster than I thought lolz.I picked up Black Cedarwood & Juniper Cologne the other day.So nice :) They were very generous with the samples as well,so I found a couple of cool layering concepts that go good with it too.Basil & neroli matched good with it,so did blackberry & bay.Just wanted to pass by to tell you about my new pick up :) Have a Blessed weekend.Peace & Love.

    Well it's good to know I'm not the only JM hoarder😉! I also like to make my own lotions to layer with my fav scents. My favorite is also dark Amber and ginger lily, seems to last longer then the other fragrances. I liked the Amber and Patchouli intense JM it's discontinued 😣 I've searched the internet to find but no luck. I purchased from EBay in
    The past and got burned with a JM creme! I was mad but learned my lesson..
    I really enjoyed your video thank you! 👍

    Thank you for this awesome video! You have a great collection! I only have Nectarine Blossom and Honey, Blue Agava and Cacao, and about a month ago I bought Myrrh and Tonka (from the intense line). Last year when I got the NB&H and the BA&C, I wanted to buy so many more that I decided to stop myself and put some distance lol, especially because they don't last long but now with time I find that it is a plus, because like you said, you can actually wear something complementary or totally different later in the evening if you need to. So, I've started feeling the temptation again! I have so many in my wish list that I think I'll have to go with the smaller bottles to be able to buy more and have more mixing options. On my wish list are some of the ones you have: blackberry and bay, mimosa and cardamom, wood sage and sea salt, wild bluebell, black cedar and juniper, and white jasmine and mint. Unfortunately for me the basil and neroli, and lime basil and mandarin, do not agree with my skin, they smell bad on me, i haven't tried orange blossom, I hear those 3 go with everything. I've been wanting Velvet Rose and Oud and Dark Amber and GL for so long too, but the fact that I'd wear them mostly in the fall and winter stops me, but now that they have the small bottles for the intense line I might cave. The other day I tried my sample of Velvet Rose and out with wood sage and sea salt and it actually transformed the scent so nicely. I agree with you, I think Velvet Rose and Oud is amazing but then I'm not sure if it's something I want to smell like, but with WS&SS I think it tones it down and is more wearable for me, or maybe I'm just trying to justify buying it bc the scent is amazing. Sorry for the super long comment. Thanks for the awesome video and ideas! :)

    • @alittlebitlaura
      @alittlebitlaura  7 лет назад

      Thank you for your response. I too had to stop purchasing for a while so I can use what I have (and clearly I already have too much!). I can't wear the Lime, Basil & Mandarin either but I have e diffuser in my entryway and love coming into the smell of it in my home. Of the ones on your wish list I would recommend the Blackberry & Bay and Wood, Sage & Sea salt - both perfect transitional scents for spring/summer and fall/winter and both would work well with what you have. I missed out on the Blue Agava & Cacao since it's now been discontinued, but that was next on my wish list. Probably best that I stop for a while but I always love hearing how others combine their fragrances and what their favorites are, so thank you! :)

    Finally, a JM video...been waiting for so long! :-) Thanks for this video! Also a JM fan! How do you actually layer it? Do you spray the fragrances over each other or do you spray it on different parts of the body seperately?

    • @alittlebitlaura
      @alittlebitlaura  7 лет назад +1

      I typically spray over each other - one when I get out of the shower and the other after I'm dressed. And then when I get home from work, I may spray another - and other if I'm going out in the evening. I'm a little crazy like that, but I think all of their scents work great together. Thanks for watching!

    After trying several Jo Malone fragrances . I have decided that my personal favorite is the mimosa and cardamom.. It seems to work the best on my body chemistry. It comes off as a lovely sweet not overbearing scent. It's interesting how the same perfume can react so differently on each person's body. My mother-in-law swears by Chanel perfumes and I found the smell of them completely over powering on me! Go figure!

  • @natalie306642

    I love JM & own about 7. BUT, ANY perfume can be mixed or layered with whatever you feel you like. They use that as a selling point, to make ppl buy more than one while they are there & want more for the future. Mix any brand with any scent.

    Would you say the basil and Neroli is more herbal and green, or more floral? I have a quite a few of those petitgrain-Neroli eau de colognes, like Neroli Portofino, so I’m wondering if getting basil and Neroli would be redundant for me. But if it’s more about basil and the greenness, it could be worth looking into.

    • @alittlebitlaura
      @alittlebitlaura  3 года назад +2

      Yes, I have neroli portofino as well and it’s much sweeter and more citrusy than this one which is fresher and more herbal. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy that.
