I'd like to mention that the 7 rings, in the end, are in a similar state we saw them in. One completely destroyed (Alpha Halo) One with a chunk out of it (Zeta Halo) and the rest are fine. I believe that these rings have specific relationships and connections to the other halos. The weapon did mention that those rings have info on all the rings and we also know that the Halos fire like how the rings reacted when you interacted with them (10:28). I also noticed the only rings we can interact with are not broken, much like how you can't fire a damaged Halo. What if these rigs were made to connect all the halo rings and their information and that Offensive Bias uses these to watch over the Halos themselves. The reason they are scattered is that he doesn't want any meddlers, ancient humans, or FLOOD to interact with them and learn? We know Offensive Bias is very smart so that the time-warping could be a by-product of space travel, because, in deep space, time is warped. (also the domain was shut down until Pax-Cortana opened it) Just a Theory, A GAME THEORY Sorry, sorry...
I find this compelling regarding the theory that Offensive Bias was overlooking the whole campaign and helping here and there. And in the end he ported Chief to one of those locations.
These videos are even more exciting than the Infinite campaign. I can't believe I missed this after all these years. I always found the golden pillar on sandtrap to be interesting and I did see the resemblence to other background text in earlier games, but I always just figured it would be explained later or it was just a cool random pattern someone made. In one of the forerunner audio logs it says myriad. On a whim I checked the area by myriad. In the center right where the variant weapon is found there is a giant forerunner pillar with three smaller ones facing towards it in the same pattern as in the silent auditorium
7:24 looks kinda like the celling to the silent auditorium? If the beam in the ending comes from the circle in the celling, it would work. Maybe if there's some way to free roam the cutscenes, as they are all in engine?
Not sure why you've not got more subscribers, because I've seen a few of your videos come up in my feed over the past few weeks and they've all been superb. Keep up the excellent work.
Enemy within could refer to the forerunners seeing themselves as a threat to the mantle at the end of their time and finally seeing themselves as the precursors did before the forerunners wiped them out. After all their crimes against the mantle, their greatest being the firing of the halos and subsequent guilt, the last surviving forerunners believed greatest enemy to the mantle all along wasn’t some outward force or enemy like humanity or the flood. It was within, closer to home, it was themselves.
Dude you are blowing my mind not only with the depth of the lore these videos get into, but the fact that you have a work-ethic so solid to pour through the literature and the games on a level like this to deliver such quality content. Hey friend, I’m not sure if it’s important but I recall seeing a unscanable ring in a cavern next to one of the Spartan cores. I thought it looked mighty suspicious down there and might deserve a deeper look-at. I’m sure there are loads of other rings laying around but this one just caught my attention.
🤯🤯 Can totaly see these rings once all being one huge machine that encircled a prisoner aged them, and then being separated from each other and tossed away out of shame it fits too well. Amazing theory man
Thanks! I think that was the missing piece of the puzzle. Everyone thinks they're separate, so they must've been serving some purpose all over the ring. This theory makes sense of why they're separate and hidden, and explains so much more 😵
Theres this one glyph on ce and 2 It kinda looks like the writing on these stone ring time locks But its wider and more detailed. Dont know what to look up to show you but its on silent cartographer in the 1rst structure when you unlock the map room its center of the wall on the way back out right before the stealth elites attack The first time the "mural" caught my attention was on Regret in the Underwater section. After the hunter battle in the hallways I think it could just be a generic texture but it does have some interesting shapes on it like the "wings/guardian" lots of circular decals on it. Another great video dude👍
I mean, how do you expect us to follow on this ?... But honestly, great job once again. I cant stop thinking that someone, or a bunch of people, somewhere, thought about and created all this stuff. I'm not sure I want to see answers soon, I like the mystery and the chase so much...
the idea that the phrase 'enemy within' is actually cold, clear instructions rather than something symbolic is... so cool. it's like a claymore, 'front toward enemy'.
I'm a firm believer they formed the chamber that the primordial was trapped in. They are older because they went through the billion years with him when the didact executed him
Watching this video, I had a sudden thought about the Xalanyn, the race that Despondent Pyre dubbed 'The Endless'. Firstly, I assume that they were discovered somewhere in the vicinity of space that was hit by the pulse from Zeta Halo, since that's the installation that was moved to 'parlay' with them. So we have an installation that is known to have had some means of reverse-stasis technology on it, with rings and carvings that are supposedly older than the installation itself. And you have the Xalanyn, a species that was not catalogued before the firing of the Array. The Conservation Measure didn't manage to save even close to every sentient species in the galaxy, but as far as we know there's no evidence that the Xalanyn were known to the Forerunners before their discovery after the Array fired. Pyre wonders if her makers knew of them, but neither she nor we know the answer to that wondering. So I posit this; the Xalanyn did not survive the firing of the Halo Array, because the Xalanyn did not *exist* before the firing of the Halo Array. Their ancestors, a sub-sentient species, inhabited their homeworld at the time, and thus were unaffected by the Array's pulse. But at some point either before or following the firing, the planet ended up in a reverse timelock, accelerating the passage of time from the perspective of the rest of the galaxy, and allowing the sub-sentient inhabitants of that world to evolve into the sentient Xalanyn in less than a hundred years. The Xalanyn - the so-called 'Endless' - are the victims of circumstance entirely beyond their control, judged and sentenced for the crimes of another, for daring to poke their head out into a barren galaxy. Now this is a bit of a crackpot theory for a number of reasons, not least of which being that while we know the reverse timelock exists, there's no evidence that I know of allowing for the possibility of it encompassing an entire planet, let alone an entire solar system as might have to be the case. Second, who would set up such a scenario, for what purpose, and when? A rogue Forerunner element trying to bring life back to the galaxy by their own means? A Flood ploy to ensure that they wouldn't starve in the immediate aftermath of the Array's firing? Something else entirely? Still, the thought struck me, and I had to write it down.
i love you for this video, this is the main thing that fascinates me about infinites story. the actual game storyline was mid but everything surrounding it is so interesting
I love your videos and how you explain the theory and how it all comes together. You’re the Maddow of Halo Lore! Keep it up! I really enjoy it it makes Halo’s story that much more interesting.
I plan on it! Definitely haven't seen these theories even though it's been 3 years since that trailer, had to get them out there because they make too much sense
It’s explains how when we jumped into the beam portal at the end of infinite we were in it for three days before we get released onto the other side of the dessert, also when I activated one of the rings the blue pulse actually killed me
I dunno, I think there's something far more interesting here and that's the design of them themselves. The design in these rings is all curves and circles and the same design/pattern, if not the very same, is scattered randomly throughout several interiors. Problem is they are completely out of place in the interiors as all forerunner architecture and even their language is all straight lines and angles. You look at any of the Forerunner's walls, doors, floor patterns, even the light bridges, and all of it is straight lines and angles. The only exceptions we see are in the icon of The Mantle which itself is circular but then made of lines and angles, a few forerunner symbols such as those for each Halo, and this design from the artefacts which are then copied and spread throughout Zeta Halo and only Zeta Halo. Just some thing to think about. Also, I have little proof but a random theory. The artefacts themselves are older than the forerunners, the codes and data streams the Harbinger are older than the forerunners, and the Harbinger can access and use, and even redesign forerunner tech unlike other races other than humans, then combine this with the fact Zeta is different from other rings as we'd expect from it being from the original array, but also the worries of the forerunners being masters who would become slaves... what if... and a big what if... what if all this and the truth they wish to maintain is because the forerunners didn't build the original array. What if the Endless did and the forerunners stole it from them wishing to take it out of their hands and prevent being overthrown, which is why they weren't catalogued either hoping they would be wiped out... and then found out the Endless were immune to the very weapon they made?
Nice, I just realized, if the Endless are called this way because time as no effect on them, neither the Halos, then this method of execution, was maybe not working on them either or the forerunner would maybe just have killed them like the precusors and the primordial. But Since they also keep flood, maybe it was just to study them as the great Edict says.
Im wondering if this is how they deevolved ancient humans. I can fit the primordial, the endless or humanity into the slot where the didact would feel conscious pause then overcome by anger, but the endless wouldn't give him anger to overcome his morality. Great work, really impressive Mr. Nomster
It’s worth noting: Chief wasn’t teleported onto the ring at the end of the game. Look at the background. The ring is horizontal. If Chief was on zeta halo, that would mean he would be standing on a wall, not the ground. The ring is also far closer to the camera than it is when you simply look up, so Chief definitely isn’t on the other side. He’s on some sort of platform which is floating in the center of the ring. But what is this platform? Hmmm.
I'm almost certain it's a design choice. The shot of the ring broken at the beginning is the same perspective from the pelican, and the ring gap is shaped exactly the same. The developers likely wanted to show the broken ring in the background, but only had the one object/scene to work with, so they hid the fact that it's the back side of the ring with atmospheric indifference and called it good 👍 Not to mention, if they were on a broken piece in the middle (which can't be seen in game anyway) there'd be no atmospheric indifference, and no dust particles in between to catch light and make it foggy. So either way it doesn't add up, and is probably just a creative choice
There’s some mechanism keeping the ring’s atmosphere from leaking out between the islands. Perhaps the same mechanism is keeping this platform and an atmosphere out near the centre of the ring.
@@RedNomster What if the piece of land is close enough to the ring to still be within the range of atmospheric indifference? Can't explain not seeing the piece floating though... This is really bothering me
I am sure the weapon made mention of the rings possibly being ancient and also lonely, being stuck for a hundred thousand years. Is there any insight to that or just a throwaway exposition?
Actually the time lock you mentioned. The forerunners created cryptms(similar to the one the didact was imprisoned). They have different purpose depending on how they were designed. Some are like what ever is inside the cryptum will age a second while thousands of year has passed outside. And some were like time moves faster inside while a moment is passed outside. @@RedNomster absolutely thanks for diving into the secrets of the sandtrap text and the forerunner artifacts, killer theories can’t wait to see what we discover
Similar to H3, when going to kill Truth *spoilers for a 16 year old game* you can see the array of Halos lined up form rings within rings. Perhaps the banished are trying to align the rings again as a few of them were lined up by the epilogue when chief reappears
Some of the partially excavated sites show they were aligned before burial, you can see an example at the end of this video. Hard to tell if it's necessary intent from the forerunner's, or from 343 paying homage to the iwhbyd rings - with the end scene at least, there are 7 rings, just like the h3 iwhbyd rings. Not sure if it was hearsay or not, but I heard people mention the rings are even broken in the same order as the h3 iwhbyd hologram rings. If thats true then I'd lean towards homage than actual lore, but both theories are cool and could coexist!
After seeing your video i came with this theory. What if the whole installation is a reverse time lock ( or a regular time lock) ? The fact that the ending scene shows us a much older part of the ring, and the fact that they store so many cylixes within it. What if halos aren't meant to be only weapons to eradicate all sentient life, but also a mean to speed up the age of the universe ( or bring it back to a previous state in case that something goes south)? Anyway i just found your channel great job. Keep up the good work.
@@RedNomster i literally can't wait. I hope that my thoughts on this topic will help you to bring up the pieces together to solve the hole puzzle. I excited for what is coming next.
Weapon says, "We've been gone for three days." at the end of Infinite. Is it possible that they could've somehow teleported through a timelock after fighting the Harbinger or used one inadvertently in some way? The only other type of portal I can think of in the Halo universe that takes time like that is a slip space portal, but it wouldn't take three days to slip space jump across a ring to the other side especially since Zeta is the smallest Halo. Some form of time manipulation had to be present.
It definitely supports the timelock theory. Despondent says, "time moves forward, and back again" and "their history is constantly changing" Perhaps the artifacts are time locks that are also capable of acting as reverse timelocks when necessary
its starting to seem like this ring gates are star gates connecting the halo rings. Or to some secret mysteries part of the universe. Perhaps the covenant prophets were correct after all. And the rings have multiple uses as you can see. 1, they serve as artifical planets for sentient life 2, they are weapons to bring organisms like the flood under control 3. They also serve as star gates to travel from ring to ring, and possibly other locations across the universe far away from the galaxy.
I just assumed that the portal took a while to do the transporting, especially because the ring is so badly damaged. Chief and The Weapon were buffering in the teleportation network, as it were.
Personally, I assumed it would go along with the legendary cutscene dialogue. "Time is not a construct we can control" implies it was something... else- not forerunner technology, at least- that teleported them. Who knows what the hell that may be, but I assume we will find out in the upcoming DLCs for the game.
What if these artifacts are old prototypes of the halo rings, they have a very similar activation to the halo rings being fired, energy culminating into an orb in the centre to explode into an energy ring, only these hold data rather then a galaxy nuclear wipes, or alternatively they were made for holding data but some backfired becoming fragmented(or damaged) acting almost like a nuclear bomb which stopped them from becoming the normal data storage so they wouldn't risk having nukes everywhere, and this caused the forerunners to have a epiphany that would come to be the halo rings and how they would work. Either way if they were prototypes of the halo rings or were simple data storage devices that exploded giving birth to the idea of the halo rings, they would predate despondent pyre because no monitors would've been made until the halo rings were made.
9:44 this is what makes me uncomfortable. Chief is facing Ring's side, which is theoretically impossible, if you consider that Ring's gravity is centrifugal. He should fall towards the camera. Explain this to me please.

(also the domain was shut down until Pax-Cortana opened it)
Just a Theory, A GAME THEORY
Sorry, sorry...
I find this compelling regarding the theory that Offensive Bias was overlooking the whole campaign and helping here and there. And in the end he ported Chief to one of those locations.
My mind is absolutely blown. You're currently my favorite Halo lore theorist
Welcome, we're starting this journey together 🤝
These videos are even more exciting than the Infinite campaign. I can't believe I missed this after all these years. I always found the golden pillar on sandtrap to be interesting and I did see the resemblence to other background text in earlier games, but I always just figured it would be explained later or it was just a cool random pattern someone made.
Thank you for being the ambassador of truth and discovery!
My god I love that it feels like we're on the precipice of a golden age of deep Halo lore coming to the surface of the franchise. Yessssssss
Got some serious Stargate SG-1 vibes with these rings.
I think they are portals but I absolutely love yiur videos man they are up there with halo cannon and installation00 keep it up man
You are very quickly becoming one if my favourite Halo theory channels, this was awesome!
Glad you enjoyed man! Having fun myself :)
@@RedNomster It's always good to have fun doing what you do :)
Also, if you ever happen to need a video editor, I'd love to lend a hand!
I never get into lore vids or even series but this had me hooked, the way you executed this was amazing and very interesting. You also did a spectacular job at keeping me hooked in the series and videos! You did an overall outstanding job!! 10/10
I'm definitely hanging this comment on my fridge 🥺
I'm impressed at the brutes for nearly figuring it out.
Dam, this theory has blown my mind... Would you mind if I reacted to parts of this for a video? You explain it so well and it has a lot of weight to it! Full credit and links to be provided in the description and pinned comment :) Great job!
this adds so much to an already awesome game
In one of the forerunner audio logs it says myriad. On a whim I checked the area by myriad. In the center right where the variant weapon is found there is a giant forerunner pillar with three smaller ones facing towards it in the same pattern as in the silent auditorium
🤔 feel free to post a screenshot in the discord!
Wow, thanks John! Means a lot, I'm trying to improve with each video :)
Keep up the great work man I love your videos, I get lost in the best way watching these!
My mental tells me I can make more content faster and that it could be improved, so reading comments like this really makes my day. :) I want to make even better videos but knowing people like them right now is a breath of fresh air.
Thanks Owen!
Do you know where by chance? The ring in the thumbnail of this video is the only cave ring I know of I think
🤯🤯
Can totaly see these rings once all being one huge machine that encircled a prisoner aged them, and then being separated from each other and tossed away out of shame it fits too well.
Amazing theory man
Thanks! I think that was the missing piece of the puzzle. Everyone thinks they're separate, so they must've been serving some purpose all over the ring. This theory makes sense of why they're separate and hidden, and explains so much more 😵
Theres this one glyph on ce and 2
It kinda looks like the writing on these stone ring time locks
But its wider and more detailed.
Dont know what to look up to show you but its on silent cartographer in the 1rst structure when you unlock the map room its center of the wall on the way back out right before the stealth elites attack
The first time the "mural" caught my attention was on Regret in the Underwater section. After the hunter battle in the hallways
I think it could just be a generic texture but it does have some interesting shapes on it like the "wings/guardian" lots of circular decals on it.
Another great video dude👍
I'll look into it! Thanks brother
Bro! I’ve been waiting all week for this! I freaking enjoy your content! Thanks for the content you make
Rings inside of rings. Man I gotta say, I'm loving the content. These theories are fantastically done!
Much appreciated, I can't wait to put out the next one!

Great video.
30 seconds in I think you’re a crackpot, 4 minutes in I think you’re a prophet. Love the video man!
Appreciate it! Prophet of truth reporting for duty 😈
Every time I see a new video from you I get more hyped. Probably my favorite content creator rn
I was just looking these up the other night, perfect timing
I mean, how do you expect us to follow on this ?...
But honestly, great job once again.
I cant stop thinking that someone, or a bunch of people, somewhere, thought about and created all this stuff. I'm not sure I want to see answers soon, I like the mystery and the chase so much...
These videos are gold. Pure gold.
Your videos have become another thing in my weekly life that I look forward to
c: thank you
That's awesome to hear, Thanks Kasper!
That is genius, each episode i get my mind blown
the idea that the phrase 'enemy within' is actually cold, clear instructions rather than something symbolic is... so cool. it's like a claymore, 'front toward enemy'.
great example :)
One of the best videos, and, I think it foreshadows what's to come. Excellent. Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks for the feedback John! Trying to improve with each video, in quality and as an imaginary archeologist ;)
I'm a firm believer they formed the chamber that the primordial was trapped in. They are older because they went through the billion years with him when the didact executed him
☝
Incredible work! you've turned this old man back into the kid in 2007 desperately trying to find meaning in terminals
Haven't heard that one yet, very intriguing 🤔
Omg turned notifications on now realising this is gonna be an ongoing thing!
You're a real one 🙏 I've got too much planned to stop now
The figure of the Endless/Xalanyn on the cylix has a rough circle behind them.

Thanks for the kind words D L :) I'll try my best! New videos coming soon 👀
I had thought they were of precursor origin, and 'enemy within' was referencing the flood.
Ever since the e3 2018 trailer, these rings were allways so interesting. Can't wait to see what's in store for today. And keep up the good work.👍
I plan on it! Definitely haven't seen these theories even though it's been 3 years since that trailer, had to get them out there because they make too much sense
It’s explains how when we jumped into the beam portal at the end of infinite we were in it for three days before we get released onto the other side of the dessert, also when I activated one of the rings the blue pulse actually killed me
You're an underrated youtuber for sure.
1 theory but a damn good one, thank you for giving us your insight into this amazing piece of the game
I appreciate the kind words gramps 🙏
i dont know why but i could fall asleep listening to these vids
it's great to see 343i did not disrupt the flow of the lore behind and actually expand on it.
Love your work, it is impressive to see the details you unveil to us
Thanks lynx, I try my best as an imaginary archeologist 😁
Im wondering if this is how they deevolved ancient humans. I can fit the primordial, the endless or humanity into the slot where the didact would feel conscious pause then overcome by anger, but the endless wouldn't give him anger to overcome his morality. Great work, really impressive Mr. Nomster
Yo just occurred to me he was probably teleported to a broken chunk of the Ring, that's why it's sideways.
Ooga booga me big brain.
I just really hope the endless aren't capable of time travel. That would run the story. THIS is perfect.

You have the single most interesting gaming channel I have ever watched. Such amazing work mate genuinely hope this channel keeps growing. 👏
Needed this brother, thank you!
I love this deep cut content so much bro. Keep it up please man I gotta learn more emergent halo lore
Working hard on more, thanks brother 🙏
It’s worth noting: Chief wasn’t teleported onto the ring at the end of the game. Look at the background. The ring is horizontal. If Chief was on zeta halo, that would mean he would be standing on a wall, not the ground. The ring is also far closer to the camera than it is when you simply look up, so Chief definitely isn’t on the other side. He’s on some sort of platform which is floating in the center of the ring. But what is this platform? Hmmm.
Could be a broken piece of the ring that's sitting on the edge of the rest of the ring, that Chief is standing on
I'm almost certain it's a design choice. The shot of the ring broken at the beginning is the same perspective from the pelican, and the ring gap is shaped exactly the same. The developers likely wanted to show the broken ring in the background, but only had the one object/scene to work with, so they hid the fact that it's the back side of the ring with atmospheric indifference and called it good 👍
Not to mention, if they were on a broken piece in the middle (which can't be seen in game anyway) there'd be no atmospheric indifference, and no dust particles in between to catch light and make it foggy.
This is really bothering me
@@hungryyellow2119 time will tell
I am sure the weapon made mention of the rings possibly being ancient and also lonely, being stuck for a hundred thousand years. Is there any insight to that or just a throwaway exposition?
I realized the true need of the "Notification Bell", I will be looking forward for more such amazing discoveries!
You're a hero 👏
Actually the time lock you mentioned. The forerunners created cryptms(similar to the one the didact was imprisoned). They have different purpose depending on how they were designed. Some are like what ever is inside the cryptum will age a second while thousands of year has passed outside. And some were like time moves faster inside while a moment is passed outside.
P.s im writing it as im seeing the video
I'm here for your support through all this. I believe in you to uncover this ancient mystery

@@RedNomster I obviously don't know what you do for a living or anything like that, but you could likely build a huge channel by really leaning into the Halo lore. The humor in the previous three videos were great.
@@tonys_write thanks for the feedback, I enjoy making these and doing the research so I'd love for that to happen some day.
Hell yes been waiting for this video
After seeing your video i came with this theory. What if the whole installation is a reverse time lock ( or a regular time lock) ? The fact that the ending scene shows us a much older part of the ring, and the fact that they store so many cylixes within it. What if halos aren't meant to be only weapons to eradicate all sentient life, but also a mean to speed up the age of the universe ( or bring it back to a previous state in case that something goes south)? Anyway i just found your channel great job. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Panos! My next video coming tomorrow deals with similar concepts to this post, hope you like it 😁
@@RedNomster i literally can't wait.
Despondent says, "time moves forward, and back again" and "their history is constantly changing"
Perhaps the artifacts are time locks that are also capable of acting as reverse timelocks when necessary
its starting to seem like this ring gates are star gates connecting the halo rings.
Or to some secret mysteries part of the universe. Perhaps the covenant prophets were correct after all. And the rings have multiple uses as you can see.
1, they serve as artifical planets for sentient life
2, they are weapons to bring organisms like the flood under control
@@ankereisenman4824 I think that's saying the same thing as the op says here.
Check out my "endless immunity" theory video - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that I've been down this very rabbit hole before :)
Excellent content brother. You are back with the video and so am i to watch it
They are like time machines, that’s how attic went back in time to release the endless and how the master chief went forward in time
9:44 this is what makes me uncomfortable. Chief is facing Ring's side, which is theoretically impossible, if you consider that Ring's gravity is centrifugal. He should fall towards the camera. Explain this to me please.
the ring has artificial gravity just likes ships in the halo universe
@@exilestudios9546allright, if this is true, that this ring is truly something special. Otherwise that video is mistake done by developers.
