The country-tinged ‘This Time Tomorrow’, with Ray’s Dobro resonator to the fore, was originally recorded 19 August 1970 at Morgan Studios, Willesden, UK for The Kinks classic ‘Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround, Part One’ original album sessions. Incorporating ‘This Time Tomorrow (Instrumental Version)’ and remixed by Ray Davies and Matt Jaggar at Konk Studios London, summer 2020, from the original master tapes.

OMG is this ever a great tune. Ray never ceases to amaze me. How I wish I could I could shake his hand, hug him and tell him thank you for the decades of heartfelt memories he's provided me with. God bless Ray and brother Dave.
After one of Dave's solo shows I waited for him to get in his ride back to wherever he was going. I put my hand out to shake his and he opened his arms and gave me the warmest hug. I'll always remember that, there's no one else like the Kinks

When it came out I think this record was so under appreciated except for the song Lola here in the United States. I love every song on the album. I can’t wait to buy the 50th anniversary edition. I have the 2014 edition of this album which includes the Percy movie sound track and 7 never released before songs. I can’t wait to see what else Ray and Dave have found in going thru the archives. I wish there was a live album from each of the years from 1964-1970. I was to young to go see The Kinks when they first came out. Then they were banned for four years so the 1960’s era Kinks have very few official live concerts out. There are a few online and some BBC stuff but no full concerts. Are there any live recordings that the Kinks or Pyle records have that could be cleaned up and put out now. Even concert videos from the band, Sanctuary Records or Pye records would be appreciated. Long live The Kinks! I hope the songs that Ray and Dave are writing together, for the first time, see the light of day on a new Kinks album. We need to have founder member Mick Avory back behind the drum kit too! Love ya Mick! The Kinks have such talent with a superior guitarist in Dave Davies coupled with his brother Ray Davies who is the best song writer of the last 100 years on vocals and guitar!
People have looked and exhumed pretty exhaustively. I too,long for live recordings of the early days. Maybe you've heard audio of Fillmore West 69,or 70. Those are at least two with good set lists,decent sound,and the group in decent condition to perform. Legend had it that they were the Replacements on a bad night whilst ummm...
Uhh..lubricated. There are some shows like that posted but most of the live stuff from the 70s sounds good. This was of course before the hit arena rock phase and the 90s play the deep catalog phase which was fucking lovely! Happy Hunting! Keep Calm And Listen To The Kinks!🇬🇧

My God I knew we were through as soon as I heard this. I felt that same beautiful agony as from Waterloo Sunset and just as soon as I'd caught her she'd pushed me away. The songs promised something beyond the hurt and because of that mean a whole lot to me.
The instrumental version is also great. I amaze listening it.

The original version featured John Gosling's magical piano playing, this version does not and is the worse for it. In fact Gosling's piano is prevalent throughout the album. The Lola album was the first to feature Gosling, and his playing made a huge difference in the overall sound. This version is an interesting listen, nothing more.
I miss John the Baptist in this mix. His piano is sorely missed here as is the percussiveness of Ray's acoustic.
This is an alternate take, they used the original master take in the real 2020 mix

@@alsb9085 It's probably because the original is just pure magic. Some songs are better left untouched. I think this new mix of an alternate take is quiet the treat! The new 2020 mix of RATS is amazing too.
