    The mission of the center is to inspire, train and nurture the next generation of foreign correspondence.
    Christiane Amanpour is the chief international correspondent of CNN and the global affairs anchor for ABC News, where she provides international analysis on world issues. Amanpour has been working internationally for over 30 years and has reported overseas in all of the major news hotspots, including the Middle East, Europe, Egypt and the United States. Amanpour was the only person to successfully secure interviews with Hosni Mubarak and Muammar Ghadafi.
    “My Life As” is the Stony Brook University School of Journalism major lecture series, in which top journalists describe how they discovered their passion and answer questions from students. Since 2007 more than 100 journalists have travelled to Stony Brook for the event.
