Toyota makes sense to be honest. Because in the 70's and 80's Toyota dominated America. And as a result, there was a lot of destruction and boycotting of Toyota cars in the U.S., and ultimately the downfall of Detroit. Toyota is like a symbol of the economic war that took place between the U.S. and Japan in the 70s and 80s. So for Americans, especially Boomers, Toyota is a company they hate and will never forget.

In America, there's an infinite amount of people who think Africa and South America, the continents, are countries. I can be like "What county is this?" while pointing to a country in South America, and some random person will yell "Africa!" and be very confident that they are correct.
They even believe that America is the name of a country and not the name of the continent that was discovered by the Spanish almost 300 years after the US was born.
