    You are seeing test results that we have known here in Amsoil land of northern Wisconsin for decades. As a trapper and fisherman who makes his living with all three generations of Tacoma's. They all have front and rear diffs, transfer case with severe gear . Also all three engines use Amsoil religiously every 5000 miles. 383,000 - 326,000- 217,000 miles . No problems, no burning of oil in all three. Real use, no BS!

    I switched to Amsoil 75w90 for my 2012 Tacoma front, rear axle, and transfer case. Changed it all over at 100,000 km (about 62,000 miles). I think I’m good for another 100,000 before changing again. Quality is worth the cost.

    Another great thing about the Amsoil fluid is the new packaging, I'm glad u pointed that out. Those baglike containers with a spout on the top makes it so much easier and neater when u have to refill. It also means u don't have to use a pump or suction device. Definitely the way to go

    I use 20/50 in my 2009 Harley Davidson. I sent a sample to Blackstone Laboratories for test it’s viscosity. After 3,800 miles with oil temperatures reaching 230°. Blackstone said I could go another 2,000 miles before changing it. My engine report came back with flying colors, which I’m very pleased about. I also use 20/50 Amesoil in the primary, and 70/90 Amesoil in the transmission. I have no complaints

    Great video, I have one question, I have a 2018 f150 with the electronic locking differential that the manual saids it requires 75W-85 synthetic hypoid gear lube, can I use Amsoil 75w-90? Am not so much worry about the difference between 75w85 and 75w90 am more worry about Amsoil having the friction modifier additives that I heard might not be good for electronic lokcking differential.

    • @repairvehicle
      @repairvehicle  4 года назад +2

      Friction modifier is already built into amsoil gear oil but if you need extra they have it in separate container. My 2013 f150 runs excellent with amsoil gear oil without additional friction modifier and I have electronic locking differential. www.amsoil.com/lookup/auto-and-light-truck/2018/ford-trucks/f150-pickup/5-0l-8-cyl-engine-code-5-5-flex/?volume=us-volume&zo=5257753

      Did you remove diff cover in the front to replace fluid?

    • @petergizzi3099
      @petergizzi3099 5 лет назад +3

      @@repairvehicle Yes. I had a shop remove the front and rear differential covers. They sprayed solvent and then used compressed air to dry the gears. There was a lot of water in the front differential it looked like cream in coffee. Only 35.000 km.

    • @Marco-fi6gv
      @Marco-fi6gv 5 лет назад +3

      @@petergizzi3099 that front diff wasn't necessarily full of water. When they ship from factory they put some marking compound in there and if it's never been drained, that's probably what most of it is. It's gray/whitish & makes it look murky. They're also vented so even if u didn't get water in any other way, that vent probably draws moisture in occasionally during heat/cool cycling. Anyway it's a good idea to change it regularly. Amsoil sells their fluid it done cool bags that have a spout on the top - makes it so much easier and neater to refill

    • @petergizzi3099
      @petergizzi3099 5 лет назад +4

      @@Marco-fi6gv Thanks good info. The rear differential fluid was grey in colour. The front was cream colored. The shop asked if I had driven thru any high water. I had not but the truck is a 2005 with only 35.000km. It previously sat a lot. That's how I thought moisture may have accumulated in fro t differential

    • @Marco-fi6gv
      @Marco-fi6gv 5 лет назад +3

      @@petergizzi3099 I just suction mine out and then refill. the front diff doesn't really do much, so it doesn't really need to be changed as often. Anyway, taking that cover off is a real pain in the ass because there's some stuff in the way. It's pretty much unnecessary to do it, so I would just save yourself the trouble and do a drain and refill. The other reason is, when you take that cover off and you put it back on you might not seal it properly then you'll have a bigger problem on your hands. if you do take it off the next time I would recommend getting an aftermarket cover that has a drain plug. They make those and if you're going to take it off might as well put one of those on there. They are also magnetized. Just a suggestion, since you are going to the trouble of taking the cover off anyway. That way you can drain it very easily the next time and then just refill it.

    Great video as always. I just put in Amsoil 75w90 in my 4 runner. I remember using conventional Valovoline 80w90 back in 2005 in my Nissan Pathfinder. it had a strong heavy sulfur smell, and had dark greenish color to it. Amsoil is very clear and hardly smells of any sulfur. I wonder if they put any sulfur in there. I have read that GL5 gear oil has sulfur added to it to protect against extreme pressure.
    Also how often would you recommend changing then Amsoil 75w90. I think Amsoil recommends every 100k miles. Toyota does not even recommend changing it for “normal” driving condition. Thank you as usual

    I would say that AMSOIL is superior in every category except 1.. That being engine braking (for manual transmissions) lol The reason being engine braking is the inefficiency of the engine and drivetrain causing friction wich is slowing you down. Well with AMSOIL your engine and drivetrain will be much more efficient meaning less drag, and less engine braking. Wich is a great thing, it means better gas mileage, less heat on internal components, little to no wear on internal parts and so on. But you'll have to use up those brake pads a little more now. (: But you'll also have an increased top speed, and be able to travel at the same speeds as before 45-50mph with less throttle.

    What's your opinion on Amsoil vs Schaeffers? Engine oil, gear oil, transmission/transfer case

    • @repairvehicle

      My opinion is based on real test results and I will give you few links as an example. Nothing outperforms Amsoil, no individual was able to prove opposite or any youtube videos, or any oil companies including Schaeffer is not opposing the truth.
      Schaeffer products are not garbage, but they are not the best they are average quality products.
      Schaeffer full synthetic oil is not even synthetic, its synthetic blend.
      Schaeffer’s oil, the majority of the base oil is a group III mineral with between 10%-25% PAO (group IV). Thats why it called full synthetic its made from synthetic base stock and none synthetic base stock, correct term for this oil synthetic blend, but oil companies use full synthetic term.
      What other people say about amsoil when they switched form other brands. Must watch this video, ruclips.net/video/XYyGS_U13II/видео.html
      amsoil vs Schaefer motor oil cdn1.amsoil.com//G-Items/sig-series-diesel/index.html?zo=5257753
      I use Amsoil in everything and I have real results from oil analysis on my channel and increase in fuel economy.
      Also, One person tried in amsoil in one of his equipment and after seeing results he switched to amsoil all of his 6000 construction equipment.
