This reminds me so much of the Hayao Miyazaki Collection that Disney distributed over here in the US a few years ago. Too bad we don’t get stuff like this here in America. But I’ve already been collecting them individually on Blu-ray since I started officially collecting back in 2016. I’ve had a Blu-ray player since 2012 but didn’t start collecting as much four years prior. By then everything that I saw in store or online that was released by Disney was either oop or reissued. Is there counterfeit copies/imitations of this UK Disney collection???? As with all disney print releases, theres always counterfeits floating around and I came across one with 2 movies per disc with a split cover art on the disc. Which doesnt look genuine. Which is why im asking???
Is there any official explanation as to why the "Disney canon" is different from region to region? Also, now that we have a full movie set my pie in the sky dream is a Disney Treasures Boxset. I'm still missing that final volume of Donald Ducks shorts and it never came out here. It's also notoriously expensive from collectors.
Unfortunately no explanation -- one common theory is that the UK never considered Dinosaur an "Animated Classic" because technically it's a hybrid film (the backgrounds were filmed on location, the characters are animated), but when Tangled was released and there was a huge push for the movie to be marketed as the 50th animated film in the US, the UK decided to retrospectively announce The Wild as part of the lineup as it was fully animated, instead of Dinosaur. I did reach out to Disney UK for comment, but they couldn't give me an answer.

Im from America and i have all 57 classics but I’ve been waiting for make mine music, melody time and black cauldron to be released on Blu-ray I was hoping this collection included those titles in that format but sadly not.
This set will simply compile the previously existing discs, so the audio will change from movie to movie depending on whatever was on the original discs.
@@bellatrixharuka6059 You'd have to look through each individual title, unfortunately. But all the info should be on the listings: www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?studioid=2&sortby=releasetimestamp
This will depend on whatever was on the original discs as the boxset will simply repackage the exact same discs that are currently on the market. This will vary from movie to movie, so you’ll have to look into each individual title on Blu-ray.com to find out.
The 5 extra movies that we have and are not included in this set are: Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Pete's dragon, Dinosaur and Winnie the Pooh (2011).
77163 Disney only count the movies that Walt Disney Animation has produced as part of their “Classics canon”. So anything made by Disney TV or DisneyToons don’t count in that number. There’s about another 80 of them. That includes stuff like the straight-to-Home-media sequels, Tinker Bell series, Planes series, Goofy movies etc.
asjoeraba ahh that’s interesting to hear that the hybrid animation/live action movies are included. I say that’s a great move. The animation in Mary Poppins is some of the best the company ever produced.
I just don't understand why Disney wouldn't allow collectors to reserve and buy the whole collection at a reasonable price with special collection slips, containers and content for a once in a lifetime chance. It would make them a ton of money. There's enough of us collectors still collecting the originals. And Disney don't make any of it easy. Even just retreading the collection in a 2 year span with a couple limited collection titles dropping every month would make them even more money. I'd worry about eBay jerks but Disney and Hollywood already don't account or care about them. I guess they just want us to be dependent on the Disney streaming service.
I love Disney but I Don’t get It If The Wild has a Disney Classics DVD then how come you don’t Consider it one of the Walt Disney Animation Studios films From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Encanto???.
Because it’s only considered a “Disney Classic” in the UK. Not in the US. It’s not considered in the US lineup because it was not MADE by Disney. It was made by an independent animation studio and simply distributed by Disney. The US lineup, as far as I’m concerned, is the REAL lineup, considering Disney is a US company. The US lineup only includes movies actually made by the studio. Also, the UK lineup excludes numerous movies that actually WERE made by Disney - such as Dinosaur and Winnie the Pooh (2009). Pretty certain I explain all of this in length in the ranking videos themselves, and the video you’re watching right here.
Dinosaur is still considered part of canon in the US, just not the UK for some reason. If this set were to come out in the US, it would likely include Dinosaur
I know its made fore the U.K. but like you said its missing Dinosaur and 2011 Winnie the Pooh so imo it isn't worth it. Especially since Wild is on here.
Song of the South is not and has never been a “Walt Disney Animation Studios Classic”. “Disney Classics” is simply the ‘brand’ given to Walt Disney Animation Studio’s fully animated theatrical films. Song of the South does not fit that billing, and neither do Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Pete’s Dragon - hence, none of those are included either.
@ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime This man has special permission from Disney One of the rules is he's not allowed to advertise it as a Disney movie And he's not allowed to try and remaster it in anyway. He found some loophole and it's not banned in the U.S just not fully released officially by the Disney Company on DVD. But has been released on VHS by the Disney Company.
Except they’re not on Netflix... and if *some* of them are, they’ll be taken off soon for Disney’s streaming service, where they’ll likely only be put on sporadically 🙂

wft another money making attempt it's getting sad and annoying remember when a title would come out then go back in the vault and the copy you had would feel special now everything is out all the time with a new edition every 6 to 12 months
They were great days - but sadly the “Disney Vault” killed itself. The whole point of ‘a re-release every 7 years’ was to keep the movies out of consumers hands for a certain amount of time. Now with the movies released on so many formats, the demand for ‘re-releases’ is gone. The market is saturated, and the movies are easier to come by than they were 10 years ago. I don’t have a problem with a box set like this existing, as I see it as a piece aimed moreso at new collectors
Dave Lee Down Under Why did Disney decide to keep films out of the consumers hands? Wouldn’t it make sense if they released them, to earn off of the sales?
When Disney starting releasing their films on DVD, they would do a barebones "oh my gosh look at this brand new DVD technology!" release, and then a "special edition/platinum edition" a few years later. Peter Pan and Lion King are perfect examples of this. Disney would do the "vault" in order to drum up artificial excitement for their home video releases, when that used to be a much bigger thing (remember Blockbuster?). They also would only keep a release of a film out for say 6 months at a time and then have retailers send back the unsold copies - this was to prevent their films from going on clearance or in bargain bins, because they didn't want consumers to see the Disney name in the Walmart $5 bin. A lot of these "sendback" copies are what you get if you order a movie from Disney Movie Rewards. The Disney vault worked until about the end of the Diamond Blu-ray releases - by then the HD aficionados had those versions, and the casual audience just stuck with DVD. By now in 2018, everyone that wants to own a Disney film can on either a used Blu-ray or used DVD and they are fine with that. This is just my two cents from the US market though :)
@@DaveLeeDownUnder remember the days of VHS? I was born right as VHS tapes were dying. Now I'm living in an age where DVDs are becoming the new VHS tspes & dying, Blu-Ray is becoming the new DVD & being added as a 2nd copy included with 4K & 4K is the new Blu-Ray. I have a feeling the 20 years from now, 4K will be the new VHS or maybe even DVD & Digital will be the next 4K.
“Classics” is the official title for the catelog of titles from Walt Disney Animation Studios. It’s a way to differentiate the main films from the 100ish animated films made for TV or by DisneyToon Studios for straight-to-Home-media release. It’s not inferring that they’ve bundled movies they consider “classic”

Screw the Disney vault.. In terms of price, it's just that I'd have to save up because while in the long run, it would be cheaper that doesn't mean that I have the means to afford this yet. Hopefully they stay in stock of this for awhile.
Is the rookie Bluray from the states Locked or Region free because I want it from the Movie Rewards.
Region Free, but you can get it in Australia. Movie Rewards don’t work in Australia.
Dave Lee Down Under yes but I have a third party guy?
This looks like a first, Disney releasing all their animated features in one bundle. I wonder if Make Mine Music, Melody Time, And Saludos Amigos will be presented uncensored
I doubt it, it’s likely they’ll just be the existing DVDs
@@DaveLeeDownUnder Dave, Do you know what was censored from those three movies?
Hey David great video was just wondering didnt the wild come out in 2006
Yeah, small typo there. Oops.
And thanks!
So This Will Not Be Available In The USA?
So far, yes.
Does somebody has this set that can tell me which movies include Latin American Spanish? Thanks
Is there counterfeit copies/imitations of this UK Disney collection???? As with all disney print releases, theres always counterfeits floating around and I came across one with 2 movies per disc with a split cover art on the disc. Which doesnt look genuine. Which is why im asking???
There's no official collection of that description - especially not with two movies per disc. Certainly would be a bootleg.
Will Make Mine Music be uncut though?
Unlikely, these will almost certainly be just repackages of the existing discs.
Hey... um... just wondering. Are Pixar movies included, or is this just Walt Disney?
It is only WDAS movies on there from snow white to Ralph breaks the internet
Don't need: Brave Frozen inside Out Moana Princess Frog Wild Home on Range Lilo & Stitch Dinosaur Beauty Beast Pocahontas Mulan Oliver Company Black Cauldron Song South Aristocats Bedknobs Broomsticks

I would like to know if the disc's has the Dutch and Portuguese language and subtitles. If possible please send me a picture of the disc specs :)
The discs are the same as the previously released discs - no new discs have been created for the set. Therefore, subtitles and audio tracks will change from movie to movie.
Will Ichabod and Fun and fancy free come on separate blu ray discs?
The listing notes 55 discs, but that could be incorrect. Would be good if they did, but I honestly see this as a quick “repack” of existing discs.
AGAIN lol not for the US. i would pick it up if it was Released here because i collect north american Disney releases. it would look supper dope in my collection even if i have all the movies and in multiple releases lol.
What all have you collected?
i have a almost complete north american Disney blu ray collection just missing some of the different slip covers and box sets and now i am working on disney dvds.
Im from America and i have all 57 classics but I’ve been waiting for make mine music, melody time and black cauldron to be released on Blu-ray I was hoping this collection included those titles in that format but sadly not.
Any news on other languages for audio ?
This set will simply compile the previously existing discs, so the audio will change from movie to movie depending on whatever was on the original discs.
Is there maybe somewhere a list? But unfortunately i Think it wont be German in ever y Disc 😢
@@bellatrixharuka6059 You'd have to look through each individual title, unfortunately. But all the info should be on the listings:
www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?studioid=2&sortby=releasetimestamp
It include audio in spanish?
Is this region free?
Antonio DeMasi yes
Does anyone know if there's been any talk of releasing the 'Silly Symphonies' or complete Mickey Mouse cartoon collections on blu ray?
Nope, absolutely none. It’s something which will likely never happen.
Ill wait for an American version complete box set to come out
2:34 so they will be DVDs in the blu-Ray collection?
Yes
That’s awesome
Does anyone know what the subtitle options are? Is it only English or other languages as well?
This will depend on whatever was on the original discs as the boxset will simply repackage the exact same discs that are currently on the market.
This will vary from movie to movie, so you’ll have to look into each individual title on Blu-ray.com to find out.
Will there be a us release
No word on one yet.
I don't get why Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros aren't on Blu-Ray when there out on BR in the states.
I'll pas because I have all 60 Disney movies. Yes, in Belgium there are 60 Disney classics.
Interested to know what “extra” ones Belgium considers Classic?
Am I going nuts or has Disney only actually made 56 animated movies?
Why is this not available in the US?
Different countries, different home media departments
So, it’s just a UK release?
Yes
That sucks. Y’all get the good releases.
Wow 😮
I think since it’s gonna be like £250 they should’ve given an early release of wreck it ralph 2 in it
No, that’s ridiculous, considering the set comes out only a week or two before the movie is released.
And £250 is perfectly fine for a 55 movie box set
I'm passing on the box set
Didn't the Wild come out in 2006?
Yes, I said that in the voiceover. Typo on the video.
Equalivent to dreamworks
Damnit I whish it was coming out in America also I hate the fact how Disney is ignoring Disney dinosaurs
Dinosaur is still considered part of canon in the US, just not the UK for some reason. If this set were to come out in the US, it would likely include Dinosaur
I'm so upset. I live in the USA and I really wanted to grab this
You can import it from Amazon UK, it is region free.
Why no USA release?? You know the country where Disney originated...
looks very intresting
you killed me the movies I want are not in Blu-ray .🤔
Will they make in us too
Nothing announced yet
You can import it from amazon UK and it’s region free
I know its made fore the U.K. but like you said its missing Dinosaur and 2011 Winnie the Pooh so imo it isn't worth it. Especially since Wild is on here.
Cool
This is nowhere to be found on Amazon US or anywhere online. If this is only available in the UK I will riot.
Correct, this is a UK release only as specified in the video
Not Complete with Out Song of the South!
Which you can buy on DVD legally at Classicreels.com seriously
Song of the South is not and has never been a “Walt Disney Animation Studios Classic”. “Disney Classics” is simply the ‘brand’ given to Walt Disney Animation Studio’s fully animated theatrical films.
Song of the South does not fit that billing, and neither do Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Pete’s Dragon - hence, none of those are included either.
@@DaveLeeDownUnder Right I should have thought of that myself.
@ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime This man has special permission from Disney
One of the rules is he's not allowed to advertise it as a Disney movie
And he's not allowed to try and remaster it in anyway. He found some loophole and it's not banned in the U.S just not fully released officially by the Disney Company on DVD. But has been released on VHS by the Disney Company.
I've got Netflix
Except they’re not on Netflix... and if *some* of them are, they’ll be taken off soon for Disney’s streaming service, where they’ll likely only be put on sporadically 🙂
If it comes down to £200 I’ll bite.
I definitely see that happening
Song of the south...?

No lion king 2?
Lion King 2 is not a Walt Disney Animation “Classic”. It is a DisneyToon sequel. None of the DisneyToon movies are in this set.
ALGÚN HÉROE SIN CAPA QUE ME PASE LAS PELICUAS RIP EN BLURAY PLS :'( HELP..
Not worth it because of the four movies that are only on DVD. Basically, it's just a box with the sane recycled discs they keep releasing.
It's fine for people who own none or very few of the movies -- it's obviously not aimed at collectors who already own the movies.
2020s movies don't have the disney logo and wish got bad reviews
Ok and what does any of this have to do with anything?
If there is a end then it's important I just didn't know when to stop
DVD's are unacceptable in 2019
wft another money making attempt it's getting sad and annoying remember when a title would come out then go back in the vault and the copy you had would feel special now everything is out all the time with a new edition every 6 to 12 months
I have a feeling the 20 years from now, 4K will be the new VHS or maybe even DVD & Digital will be the next 4K.
it was an effort to keep the films fresh for another generation
Can you really call it releasing the classics when when you are putting every animated movie you made into one box set. Not all of them are classics.
@@DaveLeeDownUnder that makes sense
