Watching ALL of the tier lists and guides on ur channel and this content is top tier, I cannot stress how much I love having *long form* content to really get involved in, either full focus or maybe while doing the dishes, or watching this to sleep, or watching it while playing! It's just the best, love from Sweden! ❤
Silly, thank you so much for the comment! I'm glad you've been enjoying the channel and that the long form videos are hitting the spot. Sometimes I feel like this is more of a podcast than a RUclips channel :) Ta hand om dig!
38:45 "playing to lose" Dude. I love this phrase. I could immediately remember instances where I was playing with this mindset because I was tired and probably should have just taken a break. Unsurprisingly, I usually did lose soon after adopting it.
Hey Disappointed Giant, I just want to say I've got back into dead cells after about a year and you've quickly become one of my favorite youtubers. I was previously stuck on 0BC but with the help of your videos I was able to beat 0, 1, and 2 bc within 2 weeks and am now working on 3bc. Im super excited about a new video and I hope you are doing well.
As a new player, I totally agree. His guide videos and tier lists are absolute gold and have been the foundation for me getting through the runs. Giant's videos and veedotme's brutality build for panchaku powered me through several bcs.
Damn RUclips trying to feed me dumbass shorts instead of putting someone I am subscribed to front and center the moment they release the video. Stoked that you released this. Can't wait to watch.
Still not all the way through the video (I spread out long watches on my breaks from work) but I will say: I had taken a break for a couple weeks after hitting 4BC and your video has already inspired me to jump back in. I had ignored daily challenge runs because I like to play slowly and methodically wipe out every enemy as flawlessly as possible and you can't do challenge runs like that. But after hearing your endorsement of lacerating aura, I jumped in and finished my first daily challenge to start the required challenges to pick it up. I've also been shopping for any of your favorites I didn't already have with hunter's grenades. It's been a blast and even 4BC doesn't feel too bad after the break.
I just checked my notifications after a couple of days and saw your recent comments, love the updates! Thankfully the daily challenges only take a few minutes (and it drops Swift Sword on the first day). Sounds like you got those 4BC muscles already built up.
As a beginner, I can't begin to describe how crazy OP the sinew slicer is for starters. That thing pumps enemy health out like nothing else, with the side benefit that it also distracts enemies so you can attack from behind as well, and Grenadiers will still target the slicer over you. Since I am going Tactics mostly for a start, this and the regular bow alone carry me in most biomes. Being able to get a ++ slicer from the merchant at the Ramparts(with a poison cloud affix on the slicer and getting a fire trail affix on my bow) also allowed me to reach the Concierge for the first time(and beat him), reach stilt village for the first time, and reach Clocktower for the first time, all in the same run. All I did was jump up, throw the slicer, and then stand below as it did the job against the monsters.
Sinew Slicer is an amazing turret for early game. Built-in bleed synergy, easy toxic cloud affix, and like you said it can carry a run alongside a ranged main. Great for early bosses, too!
Finished the vid! Loved it as always. Now I've got my skill shopping list filled out. Looking forward to trying lightning rods. I had somehow never even heard of that skill. Can't wait to see your take on mutations!
Ngl, no homo no Diddy, but my guy's voice plus that background music is very relaxing😉... I just roll some green, kick back , and take in some good Dead Cells info from my guy DG before I play....... Salute.🙏🇹🇹
I had a pretty funny experience with the Leghugger. I did not know how many hits it needed to grow, and had lost a previous run at ramparts without seeing it grow up. The next time I got the leghugger, I decided to try Ossuary for the first time. And I deployed it with a sinew slicer onto a platform filled with the malaise tubes and worm-things. The leghugger did not attack the worms, it only kept hitting the tube. Obviously not what I wanted, however during the second or third tube, it suddenly grew. Each hit on the immobile tubes counted towards its growth and allowed it to grow up within like a minute of being deployed, and from then the fight for the Ram Rune and Concierge was plain easy due to the fact that monsters didnt attack the leghugger so there was no need for resummoning.
Wow, I honestly didn't even know diverse deck was four different things in one, I literally thought it was four different effects depending on which one you picked up. I have only used it a couple times, since I have only been playing for a few months now. Mind blown. Now I have to try it out more.
New to Dead Cells and your videos are really helpful. I like how you talked about some of the Legendary versions in this one. What would you say is the item(or a few) that gets the biggest upgrade from being legendary?
I'm glad the videos have been helpful for you! Some of the strong legendary items that come to mind are Machete and Pistol (just called "Pistol), Flint, Symmetrical Lance, and Ice Armor. The ones that give double ammo (Cross, Boomerang, Boy's Axe) are solid, tool
Because of the rooting effect of Phaser, sinergy with Bat is OP. Bat swings are so fast you can attack two times with crits in the brief rooting effect.
Diverse Deck/Barricade carried me so hard on 3BSC. It basically works as a heal you can use after every time you take damage if you are willing to wait for cooldowns. By the end I had over 2k bonus health and most hits weren't able to get through that. It was a huge safety net and I would've died long time ago due to running out of heals.
Thank you! And yes, absolutely. My next two videos are going to be about mutations. One will be a beginner's guide and the other will be a tier list. I'm planning on having them out sometime in mid June (they'll release at the same time).
Hey i tried tesla coil cause of this! It's completely bonkers!! Love this thing, i never really used it before Whenever i see an item now i can hear you talking about it in my head haha, wish i had this kinda memory for school lmao
50:45 Maybe, man. But me too then. I was disappointed with the scavenged bombard for the exact same reason. I thought it would be a heavy survival turret that I could throw down like the other higher tier turrets but found it didn't work in the same situations because I had to be so close to it.
I always have weirdly good luck when it comes to traps and affixes for them. Usually it ends up being a Sinew Slicer that makes a poison cloud, spreads oil and then burns the ground when it gets destroyed. Same thing happens a lot with the Tesla Coil. Also, Lacerating Aura has saved me more times than I can count.
The thing with vampirism is that heavy weapons restore 4% instead of 2%. Shovel, seismic, broadsword, and such combined with the lowered initial damage when you get to higher scaling just guarantees you'll get 20-40% health back.
The legendary versionof holy water is actually so op in 0bc and 1bc (i havent tried it on 2,3,4,5) it can MELT bosses and if you go survival build with a crit weapon, you can just spam it if yoi have a decent stun. It was the sole reason i beat 1bc now that i think about it.
Magnetic grenade used to be really nice. I dunno why they ruined it. Def give the bombard another chance. It's great on survival. I just plunk it down when I'm about to engage with something big and chunky (like a miasma). It'll either vaporize it, stun it or help me kill it on the first hit of my big slow weapon.
I recently put out a hidden blueprints video that covers the outfits that aren't regular blueprint drops. 3BC can be tough, and Frost Blast is a strong one, for sure. What else can you tell me? Do you have your Forge upgraded and do you have all the meta upgrades (health flasks, gold reserves, all that)?
@@DisappointedGiant forge is about 3k S tier, everything is upgraded, I have about 95% of all weapons, skills etc (also no Castlevania dlc). I used to be able to reach HotK but after taking a break I can barely reach him. Ive even tried to adjust my style and incorporate shields and try brutality more. I also tried to stop using crutches like gastronomy or triage to help me get better but nothing works. Ive even tried daily runs on twitch.tv to get better but I can't win.
I love crowbar, I used to use it a lot when I started out and using with emergency door is a great idea but its emergency door and I just cant bring myself to waste a skill slot for that. I would rather try and get bonus to bleeding or burn or anything else on the crowbar just to avoid that darn door. XD
So with serenade I'll mostly use it in my main hand, then after I wack an enemy, I'll release it and run. The crits are bigger and it's easier with brain management. Either that or I'll go wish early, get a legendary one then keep upgrading my main hand serenade the rest of the game.
It's really refreshing to see a DC youtuber talk about how build variety is the core value of the game, pretty much every other significant content creator metachases. Unfortunately, you have diverse deck in "always," so good and bad.
Snake Fangs/Sadist's Stiletto/Phaser/Wave of Denial with Open Wounds, Predator, and Scheme. Never stop moving, massive burst damage, DoTs, plus crowd control. Feels almost unfair even on 5BC if you can roll +dmg to bleeding.
@@DisappointedGiant Thanks for responding, love your channel! It's an awesome build for sure. Snake Fangs teleports in, applies poison and bleed, phaser behind, scheme and open wounds proc- all aboard to the express train to CritTown in DoT City.

lol about the Giant Whistle comment That kind of Taunt would have had potential, or even if it did extra damage and sped up the attacks by 10%. When it comes to good game design all enemy attacks should be avoidable or preventable, and Taunt makes things pretty much impossible to dodge (your Queen example is perfect). And omg YES! The talking! I don't care for that either. It would have been cool if the beheaded just does the middle finger animation without dialog. But, alas, the Taunt we have is a turd.
