I’ve got a “Switcher truck” and a VW. I wouldn’t still have them; but I dropped them in a hole in the wall when I was a child; and when I was remodeling the old house, I found them. We’ll over 50 years old.
I still pick them up when I see them for sale if they are reasonable in price. My great nephews like them. They only play with the selected ones that are beat up. My son finds them when he goes metal detecting
Georgia HEX , That’s great! Playing with cars and using imagination is good for kids! I was pretty hard on my toys and remember those plastic wheels getting worn flat if I pushed the car along on our concrete patio and the wheels failed to roll. It’s amazing that I remember that. Yours survived, congratulations! Good stuff, thanks for the video.
Anybody else remember how the International Harvester Scout would rot in a spot so that people in the backseat would get dirt all over there outside leg?
I had two friends (late 80s) that had scouts. The big scout (70s) had no top on it but had a sound body. The little scout was from the 60s and used on a farm. It was rotted out. That little scout couldn't be stopped off road. It now sits in the back field with other worn out trucks and farm equipment. It can't be saved. A sad ending
In the late 60s and 70s. Tootsie sold multiple cars in a package. In the 60, the cars were in a cardboard box containing about ten castings. As the year progressed, the box was replaced with card stock and plastic bubble packaging. The amount of castings decreased as well. However, the cost increased, (to reflect the economy at the time). Thanks for checking this out. Vintage jam packs can be found on sale sites such as eBay. I have a few in my collection.
