I was a kid of the 70s. A few years ago my siblings and I located many of our childhood toys at my parents property. I will post my original toys and replacements toys from the 70s along with toys I wanted but never received. I will also post toys from the early 80s and toys from the early to mid 90s that belonged to my son. I will post other items eventually. I offer what I know about the items I post but I am not an expert so please feel free to offer information about any item I post a video for. I hope that you enjoyed the videos.

I used to love my wild rider when I was a kid. Great memories.
Indeed. Truly one of the best ride on toys ever
Thank you for viewing this video. I still have this tractor. However, it is currently in storage and, I cannot access it at this time. My apologies.
I picked one up off an online auction a while back that was pretty rough but mostly intact. I'm getting close to putting it all back together after paint but can not figure out how the steering wheel rod connects to that J hook that turns the axle. It has the piece that's missing on yours but I have to make a new one since it's almost ripped off. Rookie mistake not having all the parts before I started I guess. Can't see that joint in any pictures under the hood, and haven't seen a schematic or a part on ebay or anywhere to know where to start? Any chance you could snap a pic for me? Restoring it as a Minneapolis Moline (my dad has a large MM toy collection) for my Great Niece as a Christmas present. Looking good, it just won't steer yet. Lol
A suggestion. Have you looked at sale sites to see if a disassembled tractor may be for sale that possibly could show the parts you need to see
check speedway motors. They used to deal in and toys parts. They could have info you need. It may be a long shot.
@@georgiahex7387 Thank you, I looked around online some more today and think I've got it covered now! Hoping to have it put back together and decals on next week!
Would you post a video once completed? It would be great to see it
This was handed down to me from my big brother. I used it as Jabbas sail barge... it worked pretty dang well!!
Do you still have the camper? Thanks for checking this out
@ yessir sure do!
I was a huge big Jim fan. I have many Jim play sets from the line
I have the battle star deck and 1 mint viper and another viper that is in perfect condition
I continue my search for a deck and second viper. These items were a blast.
Amloid also made a half track and a tank.
I had a jeep by amloid, I gave it to a friend who is a true jeep fan from way back. I would like to see the half track version.
The building is a Quonset hut.
We had, late 1960's, a Bronco, the Fire truck as also many Zee Toys! Great times!
I just picked up another Econoline van. It was a school bus but, the lights and decals are missing. I have numerous videos pertaining to gay toys. I have zero as well.
@@georgiahex7387 Super cool! I will check!
I just found this lamp on ebay and the original shade is just some generic burlap material
Today in 2024, in that condition, 25 is a steal in places like ebay. That condition usually command over $80.
I still have it in my collection
They did other drivers (I had these when I was little). too bad you don't like these: the 44 is HtF.
@@MartenFerret I am a Ford man. I do have a few tbirds
Omg, thanks
It is my pleasure to post videos of these great items of the 70s.
I have one of these I just got from a storage locker. Blue cap is smashed, with tow hitch and grille intact. Partial “Big Boy” sticker on left side.
Trying to figure out how to send you pics of it. .. can’t figure it out.
I got lucky and found one that came with a piggy back camper. I ran across when I got out of the hospital last February
I just found the green one at a thift store for 4 bucks! I love the way it sounds 😊
Thank goodness for Gay Toys in the late 70’s and early 80’s, it was one of the few alternatives for poor families like mine so we could have gifts in special occasions. I could only have “good” toys in Christmas or birthday. The rest of the year I would get cheap gifts like these in special occasions like if I would get good grades, or would get toys like these from relatives for my birthday and things like that.
I still hunt for them in my travels.
Where can i buy these ?
This toy version is not easy to find undamaged and properly working. I searched a long time for it. I got these off eBay. I still haven't found one in my travels. Keep an eye on the sell sites and toy shows. Good luck in the search.
@@georgiahex7387thank you
@@georgiahex7387I live in India and I don't think it will get delivered here. Mine is not working and I have removed all parts can you help me because I don't know how this thing works .
Apologies but, I have never taken one apart for repair. I hope you can repair yours
Awesome my brothers had one of those
was it a falcon version
@@georgiahex7387 yeah it was exact same clock
Not only will I tell you what I think, I'll tell you what I know. And that's that I love Mustang II'S, and never knew until 20 years ago that SSP made one of those? Have you ever seen the " T=bone kit" it's another unique set with a " Tuff Tom", and a car that gets T=boned over, and over, but doesn't function other than getting hit! Thanks for the video. I seen that SSP also makes a Mach 1, and maybe another Mustang, or equally cool muscle cars. Thank you Dude! With love, and respect. Wes " Smash up Derby" Sept
@@wesleysept6536 I have seen the tbone set. I ran across one years ago at a toy show. The box was very poor. The truck was missing all the accessories. The cras car piece was there but it took was bad shape. I didn't grab it. I wish I did. I think there was a mach one mustang available
My most beloved toy ever! 🥰 I still see myself getting it at Christmas Eve, it was hidden under a blanket behind an armchair in our living room. A few years ago I bought one in very good condition in its original box and with the decals still on the sticker sheet. At least in the version which was sold in Germany there were no "food stickers" for the pots and plates included, only the stripes for the boat, sleeping bag and seats and the white ones for the lantern. Regarding the boat I think there were normal rubber bands included for fixing it to the roof.
My favorite as well. Hours of fun. I was a huge Big Jim fan. I preferred Jim over Joe. I still have all my Jims.
Great review, my fav truck
Mine as well. I retain all my big Jim collection
I have two complete sets but just the one boxed
@@georgiahex7387 r u familiar with the store called savers I found a mint big Jim with a ken doll for around $3.50
I just happen to love Mustang II'S! An SSP Mustang II would be a nice addition to my collection. Have a great day Dude. Wes Sept
My buddy stripped the last mustang II I have seen. It was a 5.0 fast back. He used the engine and drive train with the rack for a 30s model Ford. I haven't seen a mustang II in forever
@@georgiahex7387 I hear ya!
I had two sets of the bug, and tuff Tom. I now own one set of the classic smash up derbys, and one set of the " bicentenial"! Love that sound.
I wanted the classics set. I have yet to come across one in my travels. I enjoy the hunt.
I had the exact same style bike when I was a kid. I'm 51 y/o now. Rings back memories 😊 Thank you for sharing. The first one was stolen from the front of our front door. Parents replaced it with the exact same style bike. Had it until I turned 17. Pawned it. I sure miss that old bike.
When I go inside my tool shed, I see it and it brings back good memories. Thanks for viewing this video.
What is jam pack
In the late 60s and 70s. Tootsie sold multiple cars in a package. In the 60, the cars were in a cardboard box containing about ten castings. As the year progressed, the box was replaced with card stock and plastic bubble packaging. The amount of castings decreased as well. However, the cost increased, (to reflect the economy at the time). Thanks for checking this out. Vintage jam packs can be found on sale sites such as eBay. I have a few in my collection.
@georgiahex7387 I was buying an playing with tootsie toys in the 60s and 70s do not remember this package I still have a bunch of the cars this video made me want to get them out and look at them 😅
There is a 4 digit number stamped on the trailer and / or pressed into the plastic under the tractor. All Ertl products used the 4 digits for date of manufacturing. First 3 are day of the year and last one is last digit of the year. Based on the tandem axel tractor and single plastic door this is likely very late 80s or early 90s. Ertl made the 1/16 Transtars from 1977 up to the late 90s. I have well over 100 of these and have documented the various changes with the biggest being the style of tires used.
Thanks. That's useful information. I ran across two shop rite truck, a toys r us truck and a tandem dump truck. I have to locate light bars and a grill. The hunt begins
@@georgiahex7387 Check Dakota Farm Toys they have some parts for the 1/16 Transtars.
I had the white one. I pretended I was Speed Racer in my Mach 5, and my mom also bought me a real white adult-sized motorcycle helmet, and made a red M sticker to put on it. The helmet was way too big for my little head, and I do not know why she bought me an adult sized helmet.
I had a Wild Rider in white. Loved it.
definitely a toy that should be brought back. I found another orange version, but, it was in bad shape
Graphics are cool on the trash trucks. Just found a Processed Plastics Co metro police truck with the same cab. Needs a little cleanup but a good find for 2$
The graphics are the main reason I bought them. There is a military version around here somewhere. I don't recall where I stuck it.
Thanks for checking this our
Oh man. How cool!! I never had any Big Jim stuff but I remember the commercials.
I have several sets. It was a great toy in the 70s. The heman line used several items from the big Jim line
I still have one of these that my uncle Charles gave to me as a Christmas gift back in I want to say 1972 or 1973. The last time I ran it was in 1974 while in Michigan. I want to pass it along to a family member and I hope that they can tell a story about it when it's been in the family for a hundred years. So far I've had it for 50 years in my possession.
you should fire it back up and re live the memories.
Does anyone know how to turn this on? Or is their a trick to get them running
You have options to look into. You could have a bad power pack. Ensure the track rails are clean. Check the pick up shoes .on the cars as well. You can test the car by pressing a nine volt battery to the pick up shoes on the bottom of the car. Check the cars chassis by removing the body to ensure they are clean of carpet fibers. There are many great RUclips channels showing how to maintain your slot cars. The maintenance is simple for a slot cars. It's a great hobby for everyone. Good luck and enjoy the set.
A suggestion I would like to offer. If you come across other track sets, by the same manufacturer, you may want to snag them for parts such as track, controllers. You can buy new track as well. Also, check the ends of the tracks to ensure the rail connectors are ok .
@@georgiahex7387 the rails have to be installed? I don’t have them put up yet. I think it’s my power pack tbh
Do you have a hobby shop in your area? If so, there is a chance they coul have used parts for tracks.
Check out RUclips channel slot car crazy.
I had one we found at a garage sale. Used run my hot wheels on that road.
It looks as if it was made for hot wheels.
Thanks for viewing
I have the same exact truck
I still have this truck. My son has a friend that worked for Napa and wants this truck really bad. Thanks for checking this out
I had this one too...eventually I ended being a gorilla myself, life is a trap...
Can you flail your arms the same way. The gorilla is a magnet. Everyone who sees it has to grab it
Thanks for checking this out
Hello i ordered the F18 Hornet from ID4 off of eBay and I want to order some custom 3D AMRAAM missiles for it (like the one the B2 fired at the City Destroyer in Houston Texas) and i found a company that makes them but not dure which scale i should order them in. Do you or anyone else know what scale the F-18 Hornet is and is there pylon points to put the missiles like on the G.I. Joe Skystriker? Please and thank you :-)
Unfortunately I don't know the scale. Both fighters are on storage. I cannot offer assistance at this time. My apologies
@@georgiahex7387 no problem thank you for responding :-)
That would look cool in my collection
I have been looking for the hubley set Camp town racers. It's been a tough search. I have parts of the set. The search continues
Thanks for viewing this video
My brother and I had this set in the mid 70’s. I’m not sure which of us it belonged to. All of our toys are long gone. We kept nothing and I honestly have no idea what happened to anything we owned. We did have a lot of fun with this set and it was the only toy outside of sporting equipment that I remember our dad playing with us with.
Big Jim was my go to toy. I lost many hours with this toy line. I will never loose my collection
I’ve got a “Switcher truck” and a VW. I wouldn’t still have them; but I dropped them in a hole in the wall when I was a child; and when I was remodeling the old house, I found them. We’ll over 50 years old.
That's cool how you rediscovered them. I have added more to my collection. I need to post new videos of my additions
I just ran across my dad's ATC. Stumbled onto your video via a Google image search of my dad's. The handlebars on this one are exactly like yours. This one doesn't show any jagged signs of breakage. As a kid i remember the decals, but unlike yours, the graphics are no longer visible.. Great to see another!👍
These were great toys in the 70s. This is a toy that should be re released. Thanks for viewing
just bought the black version with lights and camper top its great! and great video!
Neither of mode came with the light or top. I want one
Wow thanks for sharing. I had one to. . I wanted the motorcycle and never got it.. Yes , there is supposed to be little bunjichords to strap the boat down but they get stretched out right away. No food stickers. He also came with a shot gun. . He had a red flannel some chordoroy tan pants sox and boots with a red baseball cap. I got my Big Jim in the summer of 76''. I also got a kiddy pool so I left him out over night to go night fishing. The next day I found him capsized. I went to go straighten his legs out and they just came off. So My GI Joe and my Action Jackson took over the camper for a while till I got JJ Arms. P. S. I still have the backpack, shotgun and fire pit. I'll take pictures.
I have the Elsinore with other big Jim sets. I was a big Jim fanatic as a kid. I have the Tarzan version as well. Several other videos posted.

These are $241.00 new.
I never looked into the cost of this knife. Thanks for checking this out and sharing the information
I have my grandpa's 89 with the original sheath. It has a forever warranty.
Just completed the set. Took me two sets to do it. Hours of play time with this set. You are the first to do any review on this. Highly unknown toy. Thanks for the memories.
These were great toys. I also have the aircraft carrier. I thought I had posted a video of it but I never have. Will you post a video of your set?
@@georgiahex7387 sure. I ordered a second set just for the launching mechanism (way too money). My daughter is going to 3D print the launching mechanism so I have two working sets. One of the most fun sets ever.
That's awesome
I still have My schwinn stingray. Date code march 1977. Electric blue 5 speed. I will sell it for the right price
I wish I had my original one. I have offers for it but I turn them down
I have mine from when I was a kid. Anything you pay for something you really want is fine. Mine has no dome, I guess when I was playing as a child I lost it.
I agree. I have over paid for several items that I wanted. I have no issues over paying. Thanks for checking this out
That's a pretty neat find! I had a white one. Those things were tough! We lived on a hill and the homes were terraced off, so the neighbors front yard was about an 8-foot drop off to their yard. There were juniper shrubs at the edge of the lawn and dropped off into the neighbors yard. We would go as fast as we could in that Wildrider off the edge and land in the neighbor's yard! Every time you did it you'd feel your heart sink like a roller coaster 🎢 ride! There was a "V" notched out of the juniper shrubs where we went off the edge! Like, you said, it had some tough thick plastic. Surprisingly it was fairly safe doing the stupid stunts we did. You couldn't roll it over like a wagon. 😂 I tried doing an image search to get a photo of one of these but didn't have any luck because I couldn't remember what it was called. I thought it was called something like "moon crawler" or "crater crawler" I obviously was way off. 😅😂 Thanks for sharing! 👍
Sounds like you got everything out of your wild rider. If we had different grades in our yard, we would have done the same thing as you. I have been tempted to allow one of the great nieces or nephews to ride it. I will not do this however. These are extremely hard to find in good shape. If this one were to get damaged, it would kill me. Thanks for viewing
Hi there. Do you happen to know where i can get one of those seat. Thank you
It took me a while to find this one. I searched every bike shop in many states but never found one. I got lucky and found this one on line. I did find some in horrible shape. I was so desperate to find this seat, I looked into getting one of the bad condition ones recovered. I was fortunate to find this one in the desired color. Good luck locating one
SSPs were one of the funnest toys from my childhood. . .all the ones me and my brothers had back around 1971 or 72 all got destroyed playing with them
I agree 100 percent. I have a couple of additional ssp videos posted as well.
I love the ertl IH day cabs. This is a truck that I would have never desired as a kid. It is cool and I still have it in my collection
