This is exactly what I wanted to hear, I am a big believer in Healthy body, healthy mind but if you can't motivate yourself to get in the gym, your body is suffering, then you feel low about your crappy appearance and your feelings of laziness and so it goes around. This is my experience and I struggle to break this vicious circle .

Thanks heaps for your video. After years of bouncing around doctors and being told i have resistant depression and there was nothing they could do for me iv seen a functional medicine doctor that has suggested to check my hormones for my symptoms, poor sleep, lack of motivation, sex drive and just feeling off. I am vary fortunate to have a supportive family but can certainly understand why people choose to end there life when there feeling like this and the mental health system turns them away. I get that things wont always be perfect but when people are getting turned away when there are known treatments that will benefit not all but many WTF. I share your frustration and I intend to share this message and this video with anyone that will listen.

I have been going through this. I finally got a dietitian/nutritionist request my gp to do bloods for other things. This included testosterone. They thought I had gluten intolerance/stress/etc… turns out my testosterone is very low… I asked for my t levels multiple times through my 20s

    Awesome video!
My test levels are 237ng/dl and I’m in my mid 20s.
I’m working with a functional medicine doc to get my physical and mental health back.

Tried antidepressants and they made me less functional in too many ways. Having all low t symptoms for a 29yo i tested at 400ng/dl,in spite of having a good regimen with food sleep and working out. I have all of the beginning symptoms you were mentioning, including feeling a passenger and depersonalization. Getting other tests to get a better idea but good insight!

I suffer ( apparently bipolar type 2), and of all the yrs on mental health meds ( and never having my testosterone levels checked ) I’ve been miserable, however after trying a try level test dose ( local gym=my mood is amazing I look better etc, not huge amounts but for trt unfortunately because the drs can’t be bothered to provide it patients are in a no man’s land

Wow... I’ve been prescribed anti depressants because of my symptoms.. yet I did a total testosterone blood test on Thriva and it came back at 9.77umol... it was 10.60umol 3 months ago... my go asked me to retest in 3 months time (which is the 9.77 reading ) I’ll be contacting gp tomorrow with new result but i don’t hold much hope. I’m 32

This is the problem with mental health. People are being made aware but doctors, psychiatrists and therapists are making us hold on too long. This is the REAL reason why suicide rates are going up. There’s NOT MUCH TIME. We have no time to waste...

Being unstable on a protocol can definitely make depression worse too.

Resonates well. Not keen on anti depressants at all. Do work for some but from what I've seen around me it's a last resort. Life style changes first.

Patient doesnt feel anything in general anesthesia (in which ECT is always made these days). They usually have memory cap before and after ECT maybe 1-3 days. Its without a doubt most effective way to treat depression.
In my opinion all kind of mood/depression medications are barbaric since they dont usually work, it can take years of torture and you get worse and worse until someday doc realized you have drug resistant depression. So years of torture then you go to ECT (TMS before that usually) and find relief and dont commit suicide. One flew over the cuckoo's nest -movie gave bad reputation to ECT. Yes it formely done wihtout anesthesia but thats still a movie, results are not like in the movie. Without a doubt its the best and most likely will be the best cure for severe depression and bibolar disorder. And yes TMS and other milder neuromodulations are hopefully replacing ECT in coming years since anesthesia never comes without risks even they are very mild risks.
ECT somehow starts to create new pathways, synapses etc, brain works with electricity anyway so little zap does wonders. Its like giving a choke to and old cars that they would start, one way to see it.
And yes hopefully they start to use TRT as a firstline medication for depression for low T guys at least if there doesnt seem to be any social or other ovious reason for depression.

Thanks for your comment, my friend who is a psychiatrist says ECT def has a place in managing resistant depression.

@@themenshealthclinic they are horrific. I was on Zoloft for nearly 2 years and they made me feel totally numb. I didn’t feel anything, never mind depressed. And coming off them is horrendous

Technically “No”, but it raises the HSBG which lowers the “free testosterone”… so you end up feeling like crap from low test when on SSRI’s and other type of meds.
