The scene in dark of the moon, when prime kills megatron, you KNOW DAMN well that he was thinking "Oh joy..... another peace of walking scrap metal to give me a headache".
You can tell by the way he looks and moves when he listens to megatron speaking.
But you can sort of tell the whenever he has to face megatron he still has hope in his eyes yet when megatron show anger ( didn’t know what other word to use) disguise and anger takes over Optimus = OPTIMUS IS BADASS
Every time he fights Megatron there seems to be a nice beat going along with it

Like, What do they expect him to do? Try and show mercy to anyone he fights?.. cause he'd get himself killed doing that.
Hell, even the new Optimus from the Bumblebee movie, which is being praised as the best live action representation of Optimus,
Didn't hesitate once to kill his opponents.
So it's pretty obvious that the people who hated the Michael Bay Optimus only hated him for not looking identical to G1 Optimus😒
But personally I'd take Optimus and Megatron from any of the first three Michael Bay movies, over the g1 counterparts anyday.
