Step 3: Get absolutely destroyed because you're not Yujiro or Baki and that guard/stance is pants on head idiotic and leaves you completely wide open for any punch or kick to the face, neck, guy, kidneys, legs and balls.
As a goku player in dragon ball xenoverse 2 once said

That scream at 1:21 is so gooood. As Oliva realizes that he and America is being defeated, he screams with both fierceness and pain. You can really feel his sorrow at what he knows is inevitable.

I swear the dub Olivia sounds so out of place I wish he at least had a tyron voice

In the dub, it sounds like they focused more on the force and size behind Oliva. In the sub, you can hear the frustration and desperation in his yell exactly like OP said.

The music, writing, and even the fight itself is so iconic to me, that it's one of the reasons why this and Baki is my favorite anime period.

Whenever a Hanma boy starts looking more like his father, you know it's pretty much over. And Baki somehow heard that Yujiro laughed at his "beat an imaginary, giant praying mantis" feat, and so he worked to physically do something more impressive than his dad taking down a dinosaur-sized elephant.
That end scene was perfect

this fight was so much better in the manga its unbealivable. Baki is just meant to be read with so much detail in each panel, animation cant really do it justice. The animation is still really good tho dont get me wrong
I didn't like oliva that much from the beginning but after, he's my fav in baki, sad to see him getting destroyed so many times
The ost in the end of this fight is beautiful makes me emotional for oliva specially how he was treated against Nomi

The soundtrack is fantastic but “Hearts on Fire” from Rocky 4 always plays in my head during this fight. The final instrumental part that plays when Drago starts getting puffed while Rocky keeps running works well for Olivia’s inner dialogue and the dramatic end part that plays when Rocky reaches the top of the mountain works for the Olivia’s final defeat

Baki said that not how he want to defeat oliva, he wants to defeat him using only power no brain or technique
Technique is Oliva weakness in a sense, and Shibukawa(Aikido dude) is even worst matchup to him than Nomi, brute strenght against somebody that will used against him
Poor Olivia. The plot just loves beatin the fuck outta this guy. Still my favorite character. Baki constantly being on that BS.

Okay, from 1:29 to 1:33 , how the actual f#@* did Baki's teeth grow back, I mean, it went from like 3 teeth to a whole new set.
Grappler Baki is where Baki Hanma headbutts a guy who can tank point blank shotgun blasts and knocks him out. This is all after they slug it out with each other.

I don’t read the manga but is this cannon because the new series starts off so different from the other as we were left of with the ritai tournament and then Baki training to fight his dad, then to this. This was really good btw I enjoyed it just slightly confused
This is Canon. Baki decided to use Oliva as "training" before facing Yujiro. Everything happens in manga too. I understand your confusion but Baki can be like that sometimes. Ali arc for example was 100% out of nowhere.
Watch the 90s baki it's all on youtube, animation may be a little wonky but it explains everything where the netflix season starts from

@@sock1 I would say Baki was literally 100kg lighter and was pushing him back so wtf? But this kind of thing happens in this anime all the time. Baki universe has mediocre writing. It pushes fantasy action genre to a point where things look too forced.
Watching anime clips at the age of 18 makes me feel sad for me, humanity and people at all.
Given how much "Japanese dude kick America's ass" stuff is in this series I have to say that I think maybe, just maybe, Japan is salty that they got their shit wrecked in World War 2.
Considering how much we have of "american dudes better than any other country" i have to say the us can't really complain.
