What boggles my mind is, if Sony wanted a pro female IP, they should have pushed Black Cat and Silver Sable. They already have brand recognition from the popular Insomniac games that are also owned by Sony. It's seems like a no brainer. Madame Web is a forced IP with no fan following.
@@NovaSage Black Cat particularly had a solid fanbase BEFORE the game. No she's been in 2 Insomniac games. You could do an easy heist type film with a female lead.
And make Felicia Hardy as annoying as Ms. Marvel. No thanks. It's bad enough she was revealed to be a lady lover in the latest video game. Don't want to imagine how badly they would ruin her on the big screen.
The proof is women aren't supporting these movies even after all their efforts to tailor them towards female empowerment. If they like superhero movies and subjects, then that means they like the same elements as the men would like...
Yo Layman I dont know how big of a comic book fan you are, but the thing that makes this Madame web movie, even more unneeded is the fact that Madame Web is a support character. Literally we can learn everything we need to know about her from a 5 minute flashback. Seriously they should focus on giving Andrew Garfield a 3rd movie and just introduce madame web in that as a supporting character to help him find his way forward. Also set up Andrew Garfield vs Tom Hardy Venom, since they are both sony.
I don’t think they care anymore. They’re reinforcing the agendas now. That movie debt money is going to help push the new world order faster. So either way it probably doesn’t matter to them imo.

Even the "True Detective" series on HBO can't escape this bs. Season 4 is written and directed by Issa López, who even inserted herself into the show as Jodie Foster's character sidekick. The first 3 seasons were significantly well done and the show wasn't predictable. Meanwhile, the first episode of season 4 was so bad I can't watch the rest of the season.
Frieren is not an example of what a female character should be like. Frieren is an anomaly. Frieren has the character traits of all the things people hate is live action female protagonist. If Hollyweird try to make Female characters act like Frieren its going to be a disaster. Just because Frieren is popular doesn't mean she is an example of what other females should be like. She is an anime character they are exempt. She doesn't smile she has a stoic look 2 things people complain about female action heroes. She is feminine at least and she can be funny at times. This type of character only works for Frieren and other anime characters
