I just came back from Amsterdam and stayed at the Hyatt near the airport for 5 nights. The shuttle back and forth to the airport (to use the Amsterdam train system) was free and convenient, leaving every half hour. The free buffet breakfast was great and saved me from buying lunch; since breakfast was open til 10am (11am weekends) it was basically brunch. The 5 nights only cost me 37,000 Hyatt points total most of which were from the Chase Trifecta.
That’s awesome!! Yeah Hyatt Points can be super valuable as a Chase Travel Partner and 37k points for 5 nights in Amsterdam at a nice hotel is great value!
Great video, Matt. Hyatt is definitely making a comeback with increasing its hotel properties, hope there is no more point devaluations from Hyatt at least for the near future.
I personally really love Hyatt properties (as you well know) and I just hope they continue to expand their footprint. And if they came out with a competitive luxury travel card I'd love that too! Fingers crossed! Btw, this was a really great video covering much more than I expected coming into it, so good work man!! 👊🏼
Thanks so much Spencer, I really appreciate that man! Yeah it’s going to be really interested to see what Hyatt does with that luxury higher end travel card.
Hyatt is awesome! The ability to earn and redeem points with them is better than any other program due to them being a 1:1 partner with Chase and also having significantly more value than than other hotel chains points. I love the way they've treated me as a top-tier member. I couldn't remember them more. Great video, Matt. Keep killing it 💪🏾
Yeah Hyatt really kills it as one of the most coveted transfer partners with Chase & the ability to get significant value from Hyatt Points. Thanks so much JP, appreciate you!
Great video and analysis Matt! The Hyatt program has the best loyalty program by far and the news of an upcoming higher tier Hyatt card is also really exciting to think about! I only wish Hyatt had more properties to choose from, otherwise I’d stay at them more often!
Absolutely, yeah Hyatt has a lot of great redemptions and that higher tier Hyatt Card is definitely exciting. Like you said though, a big thing with Hyatt is the minimal properties and is definitely a reason I probably sway even more toward Hilton & Marriott at this point. Thanks for watching Stan!
I have bad luck 🍀 with Hyatt. After redeeming 100k points, I never been able to stay at the hotel I want (not available to book with points). In my case I rather get a lower point valuation and stay where I want. Great overview Matt! Keep up the great work 🫵
@@LK_EBM I didn’t sent all points at once and I used the points with good point valuation with them. The problem I had was that the 3 times I wanted to book with points, the hotels I wanted to use them was not allowing me to book with points and had to pick different hotels. With those experiences I have Hyatt at the bottom of my list. I never had those types of issues with Hilton.
I stayed at Hyatt on three different continents and the only time I had a problem was in Sydney Australia, where I couldn’t get a room with points or cash.
Absolutely! Yeah more competition among the hotel brands just allows us to have better and better options. And thanks so much Buck, really appreciate your support!
does IHG have a better international footprint than Marriot ? I mostly travel overseas.I already hold the WOH card and the Wyndham Earner Plus, but Im looking to expand more.
I have to imagine a lot of welcome changes will be coming on the Credit Side (rumored higher card aside) and I hope to see a 4th or 5th night free soon. Solid argument. We’ll just have to see what they do to add to their re-awakened competitiveness. It’s going to get more interesting very soon.
Absolutely! Yeah the new potential higher tier Card could definitely add to the competitive landscape for Hyatt, and help them compete even more with those other hotel brands. Thanks for watching Matt!
Totally fair John! I typically stay at Hilton’s as well, but it’s always interesting to understand the other perspective of those who are Hyatt Loyalists. Thanks for watching John!
Hyatt for me is pretty much the main transfer partner for my Chase UR points😂 By no means it is the best program out there but the value I've been able to get from transfering points has been great. And regarding the WOH card, it's a drawer card for sure but the FNC kinda makes up for it 🤣 Great video as always Matt! 🙌🏾
Yeah the value that Hyatt serves as a Chase transfer partner is unmatched. The FNC is definitely what makes that WoH a Keeper Card haha. Thanks so much for watching Angel!
For me, I don’t consider the retail price of the redemption to be the value of the redemption for calculating cpp. Ike stayed I amazing 5-star hotels, and I’ve stayed in dumpy motels. I would literally never spend $1000/night on a hotel; I would choose a different property. So if I can redeem 35k points for a night with retail price of $1000, great, but the most I would have paid for a hotel that night is $350, so the actual cpp value *for me* is 1. I know other people feel differently.
I'm Team Luke when it comes to the WOH card. It's a junk card with a lousy SUB. Why spend 3K for 30K points when you can spend 1K on the Flex and Unlimited cards and get 40K points? Plus, the status they give you, for holding the card, is a joke compared to other hotel cards. Don't waste a 5/24 slot on this POS card.
Thats a fair point! The Free Night Cert. In my opinion is still super valuable especially in comparison to the low fee. I definitely still lean Team Hilton though, but just am open to looking at other ecosystems as well. Thanks for watching!
Hit that like button if you've ever stayed at a Hyatt Property!

Yeah completely agree. It’ll be really interesting to see what moves Hyatt makes in the future. Thanks so much for watching bro!

Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching Jimmy!
Love my hyatt redemptions, going to be staying at the thompson this weekend in ny!
Let's goooo Eric, I've heard great things about Thompson properties!

I’ll take Marriott (even Hilton) over Hyatt any day of the week. Not even close. Marriott and Hilton have way more options for any locations.
Yeah I definitely side more Hilton & some Marriott as well when it comes to overall footprint. Thanks so much for your support as always bro!

Ouch, that's $1,000+ stuck in a program that you can't use. Did you transfer points over?
@@LK_EBM I didn’t sent all points at once and I used the points with good point valuation with them. Thats a totally fair point Cesar! Availability & Customer Service definitely seems better with Hilton & Marriott. Thanks for watching Cesar!

This is my problem with hotel and flight reward redemptions in general.
Just found your channel! Really great videos! Been binge watching! You got my sub and much love from China!!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. Best wishes to you!
I agree Matt!! I made my second redemption recently at 4+cpp
Let's go!! That's awesome Ryan, congrats on the fantastic value! And thanks so much for watching!
Yet another good video! It’s cool to see the competition among these 3 major hotel brands. Nice for us consumers to have multiple good options!
Absolutely! Yeah more competition among the hotel brands just allows us to have better and better options. And thanks so much Buck, really appreciate your support!
It's been great watching you on RUclips ❤
Thank you Vicki :)

Hey Jeff thanks for watching! In my opinion, Marriott has the most diverse & widest global footprint out of any hotel brand.
Which WoH chase do you recommend ? The one $199 AF or $95 AF ?
The $95 WoH Card!
First! Thanks!
🥇

I never heard the Hyatt beating the Hilton or the Marriot. I always stay at either Hilton or Marriot, not Hyatt!

Hilton is still the GOAT imo.
I definitely still side with Hilton as my top hotel choice as well. Thank you for watching!

Hyatt the best hotel looking!
Awesome analysis Matt!! I just redeemed Hyatt points at $0.06 per point. So much value with Hyatt!
What property was this for? Alila Ventana?
@@LK_EBM Hyatt Regency in Austin for the F1 race in October. Found availability and snagged it!
Wow Thats incredible value! Thanks so much for watching!
Now if they had more hotels and more award availability then maybe…. For now I’m staying Marriott.
Yeah Marriott is definitely the 🐐when it comes to global footprint and it’s a huge reason I just got the Bonvoy BIZ card. Thanks for watching!
1.5x Speed 🙌🏽
Hyatt is great except they don’t actually have many luxury properties. Park Hyatt is amazing. Andaz absolutely sucks

I'm with you, while the loyalty program has good value for its point, the credit card on the other hand, is trash

Totally fair!
Hyatt properties are so inconsistent
Didn’t you made a video a while back saying hilton is crushing the competition? Now its hyatt? 😂😂
Yes I did haha! I think it’s important to understand multiple sides to an argument. Thanks so much for watching!
The left eye brow is so annoying
Sorry!
probably because they dont charge over 100k/night at nice resorts. i try to stay at hyatt when i can
