On nested components, one thing I found can be helpful is renaming the layer of nested instances. The properties are listed/grouped under those names in the side-panel. So for example, we have a dropdown menu component, which holds several instances of a component named "option. We can rename each layer to "option 1", "option 2", etc. Or an icon with a specific name to just "icon".
