I totally loved what you said about Carrie’s clothes, it’s so true!!! she really does dress for herself and no one else, and she’s risky and adventurous and sometimes it’s a hit sometimes is a miss, but it’s great !! I think that’s what fashion is about ,you should have fun with it
I complain about Carrie and I know everyone else does. but shes sooo real, and its always refreshing to have a fleshed out, three dimensional layered female character.
Which is kind of more realistic. Not all friendships last forever, esp if one of the friends is anything like a Carrie Bradshaw. The other three have kids and husbands, after a while if you're the only single one with no kids, that gets tiresome fast.
Let's not pretend Carrie was written as an "anti-heroine". Her stupid/unacceptable behavior is rarely acknowledged as such. It's usually treated as her "quirkiness".

The $40,000 on shoes has been overblown. She never travels and she doesn’t have a car. So why shouldn’t she spend that much on shoes? Yeah, she’s terrible with money. But that is actually very relatable.

Very interesting thread here. I think things were different then. I think HBO had always had shows in its roster that were different, so to me, it was refreshing to see someone not ALWAYS be on the side of what the viewer might have considered a "societal norm". I wasn't offended in any way. I truly believe that is why I enjoyed the show; From them hating nightclubs in Long Island thinking there was nothing outside of Manhattan to Samantha owning her sexuality which is very rare for women ESPECIALLY in the late 90s early 00s, I enjoyed the fact that it didn't always work out in every episode for them.

@MsMojo the fact that you get all this about the show but then criticise the fact that the revival shows that the characters are not perfect people and that they make a lot of mistakes dealing with the reality of today's society instead of having perfectly adjusted behaviours is quite annoying. both the films and the revival - as well as the show itself - have significant flaws, but on your videos about them you focused on the things that actually make sense, since they're not only flawed people but the show (and the films) have always shown them learning through experiences. what bothered me on the revival was the way that certain sexist notions about men and women are still viewed as "the way is is", instead of being addressed the same way other issues were.
