I've never understood the way people were so cruel about her looks. I remember finding her strikingly beautiful when I was young and she's only gotten more defined and awe inspiring over time.
Yeah, she's certainly not perfect, but she's still better looking than 99% of the women you see in Walmart. Women's beauty standards are just insane. Impossible to live up to.
I love her. I don't understand why the media has been so cruel to her all these years. There is something really approachable yet glamorous about her. I would totally hang out with her.
Probably because she doesn't fit the mold, and those who write cruelly about her don't get it, so, it's more based on a personal point of view rather than a neutral one, which as a writer, you should be able to remain neutral when reporting on a celebrity or fashion. I'm not a fan, but I get it; makes more sense than; I just don't get it; Gross!
Cruel? She’s been their darling for decades now.. and I still like her, but her jealousy and mistreatment of Kim Cattrall has tainted my view of her permanently.
This interview is a prime example of why I love listening to people who are passionate about a subject. She may not consider herself a fashion expert, but she kinda has been forced to become one because of Carrie. The way she talks about the composition and birth of the outfits is fascinating! I could listen to her for hours.
SJP, herself, is known to love fashion and the different aspects of it. She has her own style but you know an actor loves fashion when it’s in all her contracts that she gets to keep anything she wears (barring special circumstances) and she still has them to this day. That’s how she is able to “outfit repeat" in her closet and accessory repeat across seasons and into the new spinoff because she just brings the clothes back to set. Same with her Met Gala outfits. Most attendees borrow their outfit and it’s returned to the designer after or donated to the museum, hers are bought which is why she has so much input and works closely with the designer/design team for the look for the night.
I don't think I've ever seen an actress who is so intertwined with a character as SJP is with Carrie. It's like Carrie is her and she is Carrie. When people were hoping for a third film, I told them that, to me, the third film is playing out in real life. SJP started her own shoe line and continued to contribute to Vogue over the years, that's something Carrie would have done. Cynthia Nixon ran for governor which seemed like a real life natural progression for the attorney Miranda. Kristin Davis is, and continues to be involved in charity and philanthropy which is very much like her character, Charlotte. Samantha was always the tough, driven, career focused woman which is pretty much how Kim Cattrall treats her career.
I think it's bespoke writing as Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon talked about in an interview. The writers tend to write the characters close to the actors' real personality.
@@jamieleeke14 don’t you DARE slam Kim’s name like that. She’s incredibly talented and a saint. She couldn’t even have kids because she was so busy with the show. It broke my heart they did that to her.

I have waited so long for Sarah Jessica Parker to be a part of a Vogue video where she talked about her most iconic looks. Sarah Jessica Parker is an absolute legend.
i've watched a lot of these and by far my favorite ! I love how she just took the time to comment and to give stories. It felt like she was into this interview. Sometimes it feels like they just want to expedite the interview but SJP did it perfectly !
I'd really love to see more of her personal street style covered! That one of her with all the mixed patterns -- including amazing Gucci socks -- practically made me swoon 🥰
There is one dress--I can't remember which (one with feathers)--that she recalls loving at the time but says she wouldn't wear it today because of the feathers. I get that, but she is so loving to follow that up with saying her favorite memory of the dress was the designer himself who treated her well
I love her using the term body conscious not in terms of modesty, that’s a really important distinction in terms of clothes and what they’re doing on your body. Is it alluding, is it revealing, is it over the whole form? Love her.
I fell in love with Sarah all over again after this video! The way she holds herself, talks about criticisms, talks about outfits that make you feel good in the moment. Made my day and taught me some lessons. Thank you :)

She's so humble throughout it all, speaking of how lucky she is and how clothing represented her, culture, moods and so much more. It's beautiful, and when she spoke about the Vogue cover with such grace, and of those who did such a great job creating it. Wow.

I just don't see it. I believe she's a good actress, but I think she's been surrounded by brilliant artistic people all her career which she has fed off.
I could feel her emotions coming out. It was awesome. I saw a huge hint of carrie every time she saw herself. And it was really cool to see her in so many different eras. And how she couldn’t recognize herself truly shows hows shes grown through the years. I love it.
Sarah is truly gorgeous with innate warmth and originality. I adore her natural beautiful face so much. Please keep the light shining on this rare gem, we can't get enough!
I love LOVE her thoughts on "public criticism." I, myself... find SO many things in this world: Movies, fashion, music, etc. that I jus don't dig. But haven't ever felt the "itch" to share with the world how much I "dislike" anything. I jus sort of keep it moving and truth be told, feel more compelled to share what I "love" with movies, fashion, music, etc. And leave it at that. Warmth to whoever is reading. ox
Couldn't agree with you more! I cannot understand why anyone feels it's necessary to publicly and negatively comment on things they dislike. I have never once done this nor has it ever even occurred to me. I'll only mention a dislike of something if I'm pointedly asked my opinion on it. A really good litmus test before delivering unsolicited information or an opinion to someone is to first ask ourselves three questions: 1. Is it useful to the person? 2. Is it absolutely necessary? 3. Is it kind? When it comes to saying something negative, it almost never meets all three criteria. Sending warmth right back to you 😊
She's amazing in her natural beaty and charisma. I love her style, perfect look, makeup, smile, gestures etc. She definately knows how to look perfectly using advantages of her appearance.
The fact that her daughters were so amazed that she is on the Vogue cover ( again)..is so sweet..but like ...don't they know their mom is the legendary SJP?!
Aw I wish she didn’t feel self-conscious about her past fashion choices! She looks great and happy and fun in all of those outfits! She sounds worried about the haters. Forget them, SJP!☺️👏
I've loved her since Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! I always thought she was so beautiful, even if it is in an unconventional way. Growing up as a thrift store outcast, I just love the fact that even now, she understands the value and unique aspect of vintage clothes. Plus her manic hand gestures remind me of myself (I'm Italian, and cannot help it lol)! P.S. - I'd love to see one of these with Courtney Love!!!
This video garners 500K views in two days and that just shows what an icon SJP is. I love her personality and fashion choice, always. She is a fashion LEGEND and you can't tell me otherwise - the way she experimented with her clothes, accessories, hair, makeup... no one, i mean NO ONE, has ever done it so chic, so elegantly. And that voice...
Sarah Jessica Parker, I think you should do your own RUclips channel, we just can't get enough of your brilliant energy, which radiates on every character you cast as well. I think many of us want to see more of you, more glimpses of your thoughts, your ideas, your taste in fashion and aesthetics, on life! You're amazing to watch and listening to!
Listening to her talk about all her legendary looks is like taking a Master Class in Fashion. The attention to detail she pays to what she wears is fascinating… I admire she gives zero fucks what anyone thinks, she dresses for herself. What an icon. I love it! ❤️
I could watch endless hours of her talking about her looks, anything period. She’s so delightful and they way she comments and expresses everything is so great. I love you SJP ❤️
I love how absolutely cerebral she can get with analyzing and explaining her point of view with these looks, and yet she's someone who knows how to not take things too seriously when necessary. Love the attitude. What a fashion legend.
Some of the most extraordinary looks! My two stand-out favourites were the Zac Posen fuschia gown and the last cover of Vogue in the rose petal pink gown. SJP has had such an influence on my own sense of style. It was lovely to hear some of the back story behind the looks.
I just love her. She is so genuine and well spoken, she exudes beauty and kindness. Always despised the people who were so rude about her and tried to say she isn’t beautiful, they were wrong then and now. She aged beautifully as well 😍
I’m not a big fan of SATC… but there’s something about this lady that’s very nostalgic to me. She reminds me of old NYC. If that makes any sense. Everytime I see her it takes me back to a very simple time and reminds me of what life used to be like in New York pre 9/11 …
9:23 - One of my FAVORITE Carrie looks... The dress, the fascinator, the make up... ALL of it... Perfection... As was her FINAL wedding look... Love it...
I love that she said she never would wear some of these clothes. But clearly the stylist did an amazing job that she couldn't refuse. It's a great collaboration where actresses can come out of their comfort zone. She's not a style icon but since Carrie was a style icon she had to emulate Carrie in normal life so that the audience would appreciate her. But she's still an actress and not focused on being a style icon. However she needed to morph. I bet irl she is a boho chic lady.
So surprised the Dior newspaper dress was not in there. That scene and her walking down the street in slow mo is iconic.
❤ And the song they played was Traveller [Kid Loco's Once Upon a Time in the East Mix] ❤️ Iconic I swear

I honestly can’t think of any other star as down to earth as her. Don’t come for me she has been my literal favorite since I was 12
I could listen to her FOR HOURS! this wasn’t enough!
“She’s an icon she’s a legend and she is the moment”
Wendy Williams
A really good litmus test before delivering unsolicited information or an opinion to someone is to first ask ourselves three questions:
1. Is it useful to the person?
2. Is it absolutely necessary?
3. Is it kind?
When it comes to saying something negative, it almost never meets all three criteria.
Sending warmth right back to you 😊
same here
💯 agree
Exactly! Couldn’t agree more.
Perfectly said. Blessings!
No one can every replace you as Carrie Bradshaw! I literally just finished the series and I’m about to rewatch the movies!!
SJP is ICONIC! I love her so much, she’s is the classiest women ever and her voice makes me feel calm and happy ❤️
I love her ageing naturally and gracefully. Beautiful and elegant.
An absolute icon and should Vogue decide to have a hall of fame, SJP's star should definitely be the first one.
An absolute style icon! I could look over her outfits for hours!
Aw I wish she didn’t feel self-conscious about her past fashion choices! She looks great and happy and fun in all of those outfits! She sounds worried about the haters. Forget them, SJP!☺️👏
💯
I wouldn't say worried. I think she doesn't understand them, and that kind of behaviour annoys her.
she's so well spoken, admire her so much
Her voice is so sweet 🥰
She is so eloquent and elegant. Sarah Jessica is a very intelligent person and I love how much she knows about fashion.
The way that she describes the looks as moments and memories is so wonderfully delicious. An absolute icon.
Listening to her talk about all her legendary looks is like taking a Master Class in Fashion. The attention to detail she pays to what she wears is fascinating… I admire she gives zero fucks what anyone thinks, she dresses for herself. What an icon. I love it! ❤️
One of my favorite episodes was her fashion show of the "keep, take" sell!" Love looking back at her iconic outfits
Was no one gonna tell her that her necklace is stuck??? Is it supposed to be like that???? It's driving me crazy but I love this interview
Yessss I was looking for this comment, it's so distracting!
she does it alot on purpose actually
I don’t think she understands that she’s one of the cultural icons of the ‘80s, way before she became more famous for SATC.
I always had thought for so long with these videos why Sjp never had one. She’s a fashion icon! loved this video.
I love Sarah Jessica Parker. She represents so many looks but fits every decade.
I love love love hearing her talk about her style journey. So iconic, so classy and always been a beautiful woman.
I adore that she explains everything with detail and in a very thoughtful way. Love you SJP!! 🥰
SJP is stunning. Wears and expresses fashion like no other.
She really was Carrie Bradshaw in the fashion sense. She loved fashion which must have been an amazing aspect of her role as Carrie.
Exactly and the way she talks is literally like how Carrie Bradshaw would be like
I could listen to Sarah talk about clothes for hours. Can we get an entire masterclass?
her first look is legit my screen saver on y laptop , she's so iconic i love her !!
Would love to see one on Kim Catrall she has been acting for such a long time. And I loved her clothes on S&C.
she is so effortlessly stylish and passionate about clothing. I could listen to her talk about clothes for hours. Please do an in the wardrobe!!!
I have always been fascinated by her ability to walk in high heels and make it look so effortless and elegant.
I'm sure its related to being a petite and very in-shape former dancer, plus tons of practice!!
I love hearing her speak, she has a lovely voice
