Sounds sweet man, I'm stoked for my first official bike and yes it's going to be the great blue wr250r , but I'm going to keep 50/50 tires on always just my thing decent for Street and some light off roading!
Could be just how that tire is designed, but is your front tire on the wrong way? I did all those upgrades as well. Do you have check engine light since you didn't use the plug on the AIS harness? Or did you ground it out yourself?
@Derek Chavez Quick question - So I have the FMF pipe without the fuel commander and I get backfires as you mentioned you had before installing the fuel commander, my question is would you recommend replacing the spark plug after installing the fuel commander??
No shouldn’t have to do anything w the spark plug. Do the AIS mod otherwise it’ll still backfire even with the programmer and a pipe/air box mod. The AIS mod really opened it up
You don't necessarily need to it will run better without the smog and with an FMF or something pipe. The power commander just makes it way snappier and run better
Do you think the FMF Q4 would be a good match with the stock header and an FMF programmer? Debating between the powercore 4 and q4 slip ons but kind of want to keep the stock exaust... What do you think?
Derek Chavez I have a 2013 Wr250r. I meant to say that I didn't really want to spend 200 on an FMF header, I'd be slipping this on to the stock header most likely. If I do mods it will probably be just a slip on and programmer. Curious why you would choose a powercore over the q4 Do you think I would get noise complaints with the powercore?
Dayum a wheelie in 4th gear. I can only do wheelies in 1st & 2nd gear. I have 2019 WR250R and have the FMF pipe and removed the AIS. Guessing the fuel commander and airbox adds the extra pep needed to do 3rd & 4th gear wheelies? Liked & subscribed..!
R, And yes I recommend it with a stock pipe. Matter of fact, If you end up doing this I would honesty take the tip off your exhaust and remove the baffle, It will sound almost like an FMF and will increase that air flow quite a bit! There are videos on how to take out the wr250r baffle. Super easy!
Dark Torch it gets rid of the steps it takes for mass air to get inducted while opening the throttle. They both restrict air flow and have valves the operate at a certain RPM and allow max air VS. having full air all the time!
@@DerekChavez11 I have a 2020 I bought bran new in May of 2021 it was the last one west of the rockys..have big gun exhaust and jd jetting tuner it will flat out out perform the Honda 300l and the klx300..sometimes I have trouble keeping the front tire on the ground on pavement and it drifts real easy on the dirt..it's a blast!! And I will never get rid of it
+Twistedmetallic I am running a 13/44! I can get up to 65+ easy and max around 90! Fast enough for me on the Highway but still fun in the lower gears! I may try 14/44 if I do longer rides next summer

Love the commentary, and the mandatory beer, you remind of of my younger self (wheelies included, my fav a TT350) 😉
@DerekChavez
Can you share what settings you have on your fuel programmer?

what other mods does you r250r have? looking to buy the x version this upcoming weekend

Hi what thickness aluminium would be ideal to cut out for the block off plate?? Cheers
4rth?? Tell me which mods to get please
Hi,
Do you need a tune or like a power commander when you start removing the smog stuff and opening up the air intake?
You don't necessarily need to it will run better without the smog and with an FMF or something pipe. The power commander just makes it way snappier and run better
Derek Chavez okay thx

What do you think?
Geoff Boyd I would do the powercore 4 It goes on all my bikes! Getting one for my KTM soon

do you have a programmer on your wr250r wondering if I can get by with just a exhaust and ais delet
+Steve Hargis I have the programmer as well as other mods you mentioned
Subbed! I have no clue what a flapper box or an AIS block is so this is cool to hear a difference

Yeah those made a huge difference!
@@DerekChavez11 Thanks for the reply..!
Do the sumo wheels help with wheelies? I'm on the oem dirt wheels and I cannot for the life of me get it up in third gear.
Was easier with dirt actually. This bike was tuned also and de smogged
What's your gearing???
what does the flapper thing do?
Just A Man it recirculates exhaust fumes and holds back a little air intake vs. it always being open and ready to rip. Basically a smog feature
would you recommend doing this with stock exhaust? Do you ride a r or f?

Is it me or your front tire is mounted backwards?
DreamWhip it's just you lol. Made me look though! The arrow is pointing forward for sure
3rd gear wheelie?? Mine will barely stand up in second! It's all stock though
Mine too I'm trying to find out what mods he did for that
What does the AIS and the flapper mod do exactly to increase performance?
Dark Torch it gets rid of the steps it takes for mass air to get inducted while opening the throttle. They both restrict air flow and have valves the operate at a certain RPM and allow max air VS. having full air all the time!
Are you running a tuner or ecu reflash or is it a stock ecu
It was the FMF fuel tuner and AIS block off to help the popping it ripped I miss that bike

Not sure if 2020 is the same configuration but I’m sure it is doesn’t look like anything is changed
