I have a question, since I’m about to graduate high school through homeschool (age 16), am I still permitted into community colleges as long as I have parent permission, since I’m underage? Or what can I do after I graduate to save time? My goal is to be an RN
I honestly don’t know but I remember seniors in high school would take some classes in community college. I’d ask a school counselor and see what your options are
You have to talk to the community college or state college you want to go to and speak with a counselor. As long as you have your high school diploma you should be fine, but homeschooling is different so just ask them.
Hi, I am an international student with a GED diploma. I'm very interested in the healthcare industry. I would like to apply for the ADN nursing program. The thing is, how should I deal with prerequisites? Since applying for a nursing school needs prerequisite, I may not be accepted. I am thinking of applying for a biology major, while dealing with the prerequisites then transfer for ADN program. Do you think it's possible? If not, what should I do?
You should apply for college or university (which ever u choose) do pre requisite classes first with the general education classes in order to even qualify for nursing school. I got my associate in science just by doing general Ed and prerequisite classes. After that, I applied for nursing school.
@@LifeAsWendyRN Thanks a lot. I might apply for a community college since it's not very costly. Can international students apply for pre requisites while attending? I'm sorry i know nothing abt that 😭
@@phonethitkhine8310 yea I think u can, I'm an international student and I'm gonna deal with an agency to get me CC admission in the nursing program.. so you can apply to a CC since it is affordable. Still, the thing is, you won't study the major specifically at a CC till you transfer to a uni\ college and to transfer to it and pursue a bachelor's degree you'll get a transfer degree, these degrees offer more general education classes such as English, math, science..

By the way is it true that if you work overtime and the weekend you can earn over 20k a month in LA?
I don’t think so but I could be wrong. Every semester you’d take a different science class. Plus every science class has a prerequisite to get into it.

Hi . I need an advising for my schedule of classes on the spring 2025 semester at community college . I’m planning to take a chemistry class , English 111 ( equally combine to english 1a you have taken ) and human biology for prerequisites nursing program . Do you think that is it hard to take all of 3 classes together to a newbie college like me ??
@@jtvlogs3266 for me personally, I only took 1 science class at a time. I didn’t like chemistry though and thought it was hard so I could be biased since I didn’t have the best experience in that class. I’m sure u can always drop out of class, if you think it may be too much.
Yea cuz it’s part of the nursing prerequisites. I had to do them for community college. Now if it’s a private school, I’m not sure. May be different prerequisites. Not sure about that
Would you recommend students working full time while taking nursing prerequisite? I’m supposed to be taking anatomy and physiology 1 while working full time as a medical assistant.
I have a question so I have a community college that is accredited and has prerequisites since its a 2 year will i do all pre reqs and also do the nursing program in that same community college?
hi I’m currently a senior taking ap bio and ap psych and ap lit and anatomy and physiology 1&2 would taking those classes benefit me in nursing school?
Hi. I just moved in the US (California) and I still am confused with the community college system (because we don't have that in the Philippines). Do I just enroll to community college, talk to a counselor and research, and sign up to the prerequisite classes for ADN that I need? Is that how it works or did I get it wrong? Also some community colleges do not have an ADN program (I'm planning to take my ADN in a community college). Do I need to take my prerequisites on the same community college where I will do my ADN or I can just take my prerequisites in one community college (nearest to me) then transfer to a community college with an ADN program after?
The best thing to do is talk to a counselor first to help guide you through the process. Based off of my experience, you would have to apply to community college and take an entrance exam. based off of that, you’ll know which classes to start with. Keep in mind that certain nursing prerequisite classes have prerequisites so you would have to do those classes too. Yes, you should be able to transfer but you’d have more of a chance if you do your prerequisite within the same community college system.
