This scene was a nicely added a touch. Very cool how even though Ariel was on land, & no longer a mermaid, she was able to incorporate her under the sea knowledge
One of the cutest scenes to the little mermaid with Ariel and Eric together.

Eric is much more explored in the live-action adaptation. In the original film, he was just the prince Ariel fell in love with who was constantly lectured about finding a wife. The only other thing that was known about his was that he played the flute. In this film, it’s revealed that he was adopted by the king and queen as a child. He is also a collector (just like Ariel) who yearns to explore the world and escape from his castle rules (Again, just like Ariel).
That why I like this movie, giving the prince more character, showing he and Ariel are so much alike. I also like the adorable moment they have together
I liked Prince Eric from the Broadway musical.
This version gave more time for character development. Same with 2017’s Beauty & the Beast

Sirens and mermaids are the same things. We just have two different words for them in English but for example in French mermaids are called Sirène.
Depends on the mythology. In Spanish we only got one, Sirena, mermaid doesn't exist. the siren in Greek mythology is a bird woman who killed sailors while in other places it was a fish woman.

I don't want to be rude about this movie but I prefer Sierra Boggess as Ariel and Sean Palmer as Prince Eric from the Broadway musical.
