Technically, it's not a wedding, it's an engagement party, they're not rushing into it the way they did in the original, probably thanks to Eric's mom!
@ElizabethMcCormick-s2n Oh no, that's not what I'm saying at all. She always still looks beautiful. What I meant was, is that Angelina Jolie is still beautiful, but she's almost about to be 50 years old which I believe it's gonna happen this year in 2025 soon. I've seen the year Angelina was born in, 1975, but she will always still look beautiful, no matter what or how older you get.
They could've mimicked the original scene though, that part was epic in the animated version. This part is though kind of disappoints because I feel it's missing a lot of action.
This Disney Film Mermaid is not too bad, but we don't know why no european (white) protagonist is in this film Mermaid? We evaluate that film 'Maleficent (with Aurora)' is better because those main actresses are European (White).
Proof that they just need to quit with these live action remakes. The Little Mermaid was my absolute favorite as a kid. I was excited about this till I watched it. It was just not great at all. They especially did Sebastian and Flounder the worst. And they made Ursula the evil sea witch to sexy for what she was supposed to be. And the CGI was just awful
@@annemariewood-orourke5994 The problem with remakes is that they tell the same story all over again, instead telling us something we haven’t seen. That’s why I like movies like Christopher Robin and Maleficent and the Alice movies, because they don’t copy the originals, but rather they tell stories of their own
Let's talk about it: it's been long enough. This girl playing Ariel is NOT the issue here and never was. She's damn near perfect as Ariel. It's everything around her that just isn't working. The cgi, instead of a practical silicone tail and putting her in REAL water i.e. Daryl Hannah in Splash) is mostly atrocious. Nearly everyone else is horribly miscast with the exception of Ariel and Vanessa (Scuttle wasn't too bad either). But why Javier? Why Melissa? Why some random clown who's horribly imitating a Jamaican/Caribbean accent? And finally, the songs . . . Miranda made sure to suck out that THING that made the songs in the original so unforgettable and catchy. The songs are a big part of why I love the original so much; if you wanna change the story, fine. But, like the Lion King remake seemed to understand, I want the songs to sound damn near the same as they did before. Disney casts this beautiful black young woman, put her front and center, for all the wrong reasons because at the end of the day, they did not get behind her 100%. They put everything they could possibly do wrong behind her, and, for everyone else, SHE is the reason this remake turned out horrible. If Disney really stood 100% behind this film and casting of Bailey, they would've done something as simple as casting a fellow actor of color to portray King Triton. And not only could they not do that, they just got . . . plain old Javier 🤷🏽♂️ Maybe if they had even promoted the film more aggressively like they did for, say, Beauty and the Beast before. They bring her in as if this casting is going to be so revolutionary and because they don't take into consideration the "ripple effect" casting an actor of color for this particular role, they set her up to fail and it's honestly quite sad as I had predicted when her casting was first announced years prior that Disney, despite trying to appear "diverse", wouldn't have the balls to go all the way with it. And they proved me right and, in the process, ruined what I think, with the RIGHT people behind it, would've been a halfway decent, maybe even good, remake of my all-time favorite Disney film. No one wanted live-action remakes of animated films more than I did, but I never in a million years thought Disney could fumble this in the spectacular manner at which they have. It's just heartbreaking, particularly for Halle, because this should've been the role of a lifetime and instead she gets horribly trolled by a bunch of racist on social media. On a side note, Peter Pan (1953) is definitely in my top 3 of all-time favorite Disney films . . . imagine how I feel about Peter Pan and Wendy 😑
I always thought that if you actually didn't know that Vanessa (I don't know if she is called that in this version because she is never addressed by name) and Ursula were one and the same, you'd never think they were the same character. Ursula is camp, over the top, really flamboyant and Vanessa/Mystery Woman is conniving, malevolent and genuinely frightening. Ursula's personality does not match Vanessa's, so you'd never guess that Vanessa was the sea witch in disguise because they are nothing alike in terms of performance or personality.
This is all Triton's fault how Ariel took Ursula's way for her to get turned into a human, I don't care, at least Triton learned his lesson for his stubbornness from Ariel entering the human world for her to get turned into a mermaid!

🤣🤣🤣
I saw that part in theaters with all of my family

Ursula:SHUT UP
Vanessa is the best character in the little mermaid 2023
Well, she's definitely the best actress among this cast...
0:14 Hide the Ring 😂😂😂
Vanessa is looks like Sofia Vergara

in is scene Vanessa is the only character in this live action version that matched the animated version.
Vanessa in the live action Little Mermaid looks a lot like Angelina Jolie when she looked beautiful and young.
Are you saying that Angelina ISN'T beautiful anymore?
@ElizabethMcCormick-s2n Oh no, that's not what I'm saying at all. She always still looks beautiful. People offer to help Vanessa when Ariel knocks her to the floor, but they are quite happy to let Max and Scuttle attack her and Ariel assault her?
I remember what they say, whatever you gave the devil, you can take it away.
My absolute favorite part is that man pretending with his face not to know where the ring went, while he kicks it away. 😂😂😂
the girl who played vanessa IS SOOO GOODD
Vanessa is Ursla
They could at least have had the party on a ship so Eric didnt have to SWIM to the battle in the middle of the ocean.
@@punxsydawn why would he take everyone with him to the battle
I really enjoyed the scene
Me too
She’s back to normal
Now she can talk.
I think I like this one better than the 1998 crash wedding

Scuttle over there aiming his squadron of avians at Vanessa with the dog fighting plane sounds was the funniest in the animated version...
0:46 How did Vanessa's/ursala's bar not go down?
1:46 ÆH ÆUUGHH
I can’t be the only one who heard that crack right?

Yeah she is and now she turns into a mermaid.

Ariel x Prince Eric

good thing you can just watch the original then huh?
Ursula is still the evil sea witch though 😭😭.. i do agree on the cgi as well,, it was bad 😭 like compare this cgi in movie to marvels movies
Thank you!

Nothing wrong with this.
It's so much worse than the animated
Yes, it lacked the heart and soul of the original
