It is a miracle that the 595 made it to the end of the field without breaking down. I had one for three years from new and it spent more time in the dealer’s workshop than working. It drove me and my accountant crazy for the two years it was out of warranty and racking up the bills, emptying my bank account. Best thing I ever did was to sell it for a 5904wd. Next best thing I ever did was to sell that for a Deere 2140.

Unfortunately the Massey Ferguson 595 was a problematic tractor they were built in France, whereas the smaller 500 series were manufactured in Coventry England.

All the 4wd and 2wd with synchro eight speed boxes were French built. The early French built 2wd were distinguished by Beauvais silver metallic chassis paint rather than Coventry’s grey. The Coventry crash gearboxes were far more reliable than the synchromesh ones. They more or less got it right with the later synchro-12 transmissions which had alarmingly long gear levers on the 500 series so fitted.

Massey seemed to be the first with big cabs, even on the 90hp 505. Darn v8s just didn't work out for any farm machinery. But I like the massey noise

I own 2 Massey Fergunsons but they be a bit on the wee side compared to those 2 big red ones, M-F 50 1959 & a M-F 1526 2018 nothing pulls like a Massey Fergunson.
