We had one for a few years, somehow it got in there with three Versatiles. It definitely wasn’t a Versatile! But it was a 200hp tractor running with 300+hp tractors, and we knew that. We sold it to a guy that it worked out fine in his operation.
Never could figure out why MF didn't use a Perkins V-8 engine running large twin turbos instead of the Cat engine . They could have kept the money in house and the Perkins engines were equally as good if not better than the Cat engine .
I wondered the same thing. I don’t think they were from the same era. The 2000 series came out after the 1805, I think. Only thing available might have been the 540, and it wasn’t turboed. I think the 640 was the only turbo engine in that group.

I drove this for a few minutes that day and it was really smooth to operate. I can only imagine what a larger tractor was like to operate!

It's a stout machine. I doubt you'd find cheaper horsepower anywhere.
