Love these old beast I had a4840 and a 4850 tuff old tractors hard to beat that deer My dad had both internationals harvester and deers couldn't keep the The internationals out to shop. Meanwhile, the deers were in the field jumping getting it done so he went all green
Hopefully you cleaned the packed up radiator out before taking it out and just hammer down pulling equipment especially since the tractor has sat for so long. The 8640 is a piece of American heritage and one that looks as good as that one does, you need to take care of it maintenance wise to keep it rolling.
New to channel. Don't know your knowledge or experience, just throwing out some tips and tricks for you and audience. 1. The unpainted cup under priming pump should have a screen. You can get a glass bowl so that water and debris are easy to spot. 2. If tractor has been sitting one season to next, always a good idea to check water trap on fuel tank and drain. 3. If tractor is not even puffing when cranking, crack the injector lines loose on engine side and crank till they spit with pressure about 4 times. Tighten them individually as you get the air purged. 4. Ether, last resort. 5. All of the folks talking about putting atf in your fuel are not wrong. It is good lubricant and cleaner additive for low sulfer fuel. Add it when you get ready to hit the field. Burn that old fuel down low before adding new fuel so that you don't dilute the atf and let it clean and lubricate.
it amazed me how small hp these big tractors are,I worked on a farm in Devon the UK and the farmer had a volvo tractor that he put a 12 leter 480hp truck engine it was awesome
@@MichiganMarineFarmer report back in 500 or less hours after you replace them :-) she does sound good tho. Next time crack the injector lines and bleed the system correctly tho
Good to see you boys using some things your grandad had, I know he'd be proud of ya'll .. Good job...

40 series a real step up from 30 series. They were huge improvement over '20 series. Needs fluids and tires and go to work!!
She's a beast! Thanks for watch and comment

Open an injection line or two at the injectors
It was the filters
Spent 600$ on filters for trans and fuel. See if we can drive her home
Move it out of the weeds!
That baby's got 275hp. That should be enough to get the job done.

Make sure you make eye contact to the driver!
Always
Scoring those injectors dry firing with ether.
Runs fine

@@tjlqk3 will do! Thank you for the tip
Put air filter cover back on or run over
All good. Sure John Deere has another 4 or 5 laying around
Hell Guys what's about the FORD behind???
Nit in the budget :)
Air breather lid on L/F tire , don't run it over !!!
Are you gonna see if it moves? When next harvest season? 😂
Full videos of it moving on my channel
J'aurais commencé par nettoyer le radiateur
Put some atf in the fuel tank.
Thinking about adding a DEF tank. Make it California certified 😄
Just thinking the atf will help loosen up the injector pump, it sure didn't sound right when it took off.
@@burrridgefarms yeah she's purring now. Trans fluid looked like some water got in it
That guy should lay off on that can of spay thats hard on that engine
Why don't you put the air cleaner cover back on the air cleaner instead of just walking around sowing it on the camera
I are confused
