I've just discovered his videos like a day or two ago and I've found them captivating and interesting to watch. It's something about the way he speaks and engages with people and he just comes across as genuine and sincere.
Cliffe is honest and consistent. That's what I like about these videos. He's always engaging the person, he's witty, and while I don't necessarily agree with how he addresses certain topics, like salvation, he still talks in a way that will get you thinking.
Love how that girl pretty much just talked herself into the Gospel. "Missing that middle part of... grace". We all know we need it. She knew that its what was lacking in the church she was part of. The problem is with many people is that they put their trust in the church and Christians rather than God and Christ. We're called to be the light of the world but we are still human and are still going to sin and when people see that they abandon Jesus. Put your faith in the unshakable and you will stand firm in difficulties

Yet it is also a hospital of broken people where Jesus is the doctor. When i came to faith in God, i did not become all clean and holy in a moment, it took years to get sanctified from the sinful habits i got myself into when i lived in the world and i am still in the process.

One thing I found striking about this video is that Cliffe is very good at debating, however he is prone to using strawman rhetoric a lot: he doesn't actually answer the questions, like with the first student who asks "if God revealed himself to my friend, how could it be that God seemingly abandons him later on?". Cliffe replies "You're far more talented than I am at being able to look into a human being and understanding their heart" and then goes on to talk about judging someone's sincerity etc, he doesn't actually answer the student's question, but interestingly wins the micro-debate by changing the topic from God revealing truth to his friend then abandoning him, to the topic of judging someone's sincerity. It's loosely related, and could be interpreted as him saying "we don't know if your friend was sincere when he said God revealed truth to him" but that would be an interpretation on the part of the listener, not a direct answer from him. It's a very clever debating tactic, albeit one of the logical fallacies, because it's very hard to detect in the moment without literally stopping the person mid flow. The fact he speaks with confidence, authority and dramatic air further compounds the strength of his strawman arguments. Personally, in instances like that, I would have had more respect for Cliffe if he had said "I don't know" or "I don't know. Why do you think God abandoned him?" - I would certainly trust him a lot more. The second, well, statement, it wasn't a question, but the student says "You're selling hope, the person selling you the path to enlightenment is the person you have to be most wary of" and Cliffe then replies that literally saying "the bibles are free" which is another strawman argument. But not in shameful way, where they make themselves look good We all are sinners, but we might of flown of the handle so bad that we need someone to wake us up or guide us even.. That only works and is absolutely right if done with love...but if you're trying to put a person down..you even might be right by pointing out that whatever the other person is doing wrong, but if you're just trying to make a point or show how good you you are by being right, that's when it's a problem...that type of judgement is nothing but wrong I know I need someone to judge me and get me back to earth..I wouldn't want no yesman beside me
The guy in the opening dialogue, he hears only the worst and sees only failure. Then he complains about the result could be "everybody's going to hell" Someone can give him the positive view. He would have to want to receive it. Being saved by grace through faith. What does it entail? Turn away from sin. One sin at a time. Do it till you start to see, you don't have to please those people. You don't have to choose those people in your life. Putting your trust in Jesus. It's not all rainbows and sweets. It's difficult sometimes and for some, it's difficult everyday. But if your group of friends is dragging you down, you have to tell them and help them or leave them. It can be difficult at first. But don't let writers of literature fill your head when the Gospels contain the testimony of Jesus Christ. If Jesus wanted us to "all go to hell" He would not have taken our punishment upon Himself. He can be our go between and work it out with us prior to the judgement we will all face. People who have had experiences in death have come back to us telling of the other side. Many of them describe being told to return and bring the message, hell is for real and let's change so as to be forgiven. Let's stop blaming God for what man does to himself. Let's not be angry at God when we make the mistakes. Let's find our way and ask for Jesus to strengthen us in our idea of what having faith means. Amen.

@@peytonsingh6258 There are many reasons John is considered corrupt. The first being it is anonymous, but worse, there are likely 3 or more separate authors. As parts were added to it at later dates. All of the famous lines quoted by preachers around the world, were simply later additions. Secondly, the gospel of john has nothing in common with the synoptic gospels. Obviously different sources, but the gospel is so different that the differences are remarkable in how they differ. Scholars almost unanimously agree it is of no value, theologically. Interesting history though. The synoptic gospels are a mess too. Quote from them, and your in a world of hurt too. Look in the gospels, and tell me conclusively where jesus was born? Even a full third of the epistles were forgeries. So you have to tippy toe carefully around those too, if you want to quote from them. The trick is with the bible, when you quote, you need to make sure its original and really the "word of god". Stay safe!

That is the main problem. There is no purpose in life, it seams to us there is , but is just a necessary illusion to us to survive. It's difficult sometimes and for some, it's difficult everyday. But if your group of friends is dragging you down, you have to tell them and help them or leave them. It can be difficult at first. But don't let writers of literature fill your head when the Gospels contain the testimony of Jesus Christ.
If Jesus wanted us to "all go to hell" He would not have taken our punishment upon Himself. He can be our go between and work it out with us prior to the judgement we will all face. People who have had experiences in death have come back to us telling of the other side. Many of them describe being told to return and bring the message, hell is for real and let's change so as to be forgiven. Let's stop blaming God for what man does to himself. Let's not be angry at God when we make the mistakes.
Let's find our way and ask for Jesus to strengthen us in our idea of what having faith means.

All these atheist are convinced there is no god but yet don’t bother reading the Bible to judge for themselves instead of what they think they know.
Aside from the corruption, interpolations, forgeries, questionable textual variation, allegorical / mythical stories, I'm sure the bible is a fantastic read. But not somewhere one should go to see if there is a god or not. Keep in mind, your bible is iron age stuff. Your gospels are corrupted and contradictory. If you can tell me when / where jesus was born, I'll agree with you that the bible is true. Let me know when you figure that out.
Reading the Bible without faith is the same as reading a philosophy book without an open mind. The unbeliever doesn't believe for lack of evidence, but their own heart. The Bible inconsistencies is just one excuse of many..

John is the most corrupted of all the gospels. Quoting these texts is pointless. Do you know the history of the bible? Do you know the manuscript history of what you are quoting?
@@rockerobertson4002 Thanks for your question, Rocke. I can honestly admit I don’t know the answer to every question, and these are topics I need to definitely look into more as I grow in knowledge of the scriptures, but why do you believe the Gospel of John is corrupt?
@@peytonsingh6258 There are many reasons John is considered corrupt. The first being it is anonymous, but worse, there are likely 3 or more separate authors. As parts were added to it at later dates. All of the famous lines quoted by preachers around the world, were simply later additions. Secondly, the gospel of john has nothing in common with the synoptic gospels. Obviously different sources, but the gospel is so different that the differences are remarkable in how they differ. Scholars almost unanimously agree it is of no value, theologically. Interesting history though. The synoptic gospels are a mess too. Quote from them, and your in a world of hurt too. Look in the gospels, and tell me conclusively where jesus was born? Even a full third of the epistles were forgeries. So you have to tippy toe carefully around those too, if you want to quote from them. The trick is with the bible, when you quote, you need to make sure its original and really the "word of god". Stay safe!

If we really did evolve from a single cell then there is no real purpose or reason for us being here. It would mean that we are all just gradually evolved accidents, however when you think about this. It's absurd!
There is obviously a meaning and purpose for us, the very conditions of the universe prove this e.g there is a strong magnetic field to protect us from harmful radiation.

That is the main problem. There is no purpose in life, it seams to us there is , but is just a necessary illusion to us to survive. For example, magnetic field is not there to protect us... it is just there and it was before us.
