Printing on dry paper, I didn't think the prints turned as well on soaked paper, but I'm not sure everyone agrees with that. I guess it's personal taste. JOHN DAWSON
I have 3 questions: What kind of paper do you use with oil based media ? Do you wet the paper, like with water soluble media? Do you use gesso as a ground on the paper?
HI I usually use Reeves BFK, but any good print paper would probably be good. No need to soak the paper, some do but I think it's better if you don't. There is no reason I can think of to gesso the paper. JOHN DAWSON

These are monotypes, not monoprints. It becomes a monoprint in recoloring the ghost print.
