I've studied the Krays for twenty years or so.
I believe the fight happened outside the Brown Bear. Ronnie was extremely drunk and got George to come outside where George did indeed beat him up.
The following day, Ronnie was up for immediate retaliation but was talked out of it by Reg who told him it would be bad for business and to bide his time.
    Hence the Blind Beggar.
A little known fact about the murder is that George upon seeing Ronnie did say "look who's here". He then also reached into his pocket and said " let's have a drink shall we?" (witness statement taken by police).
Regarding the Krays position in criminal circles, Scotland Yard considered them to be at the top for the ten years before they caught.
I personally think that they were at their toughest in their late teens, early twenties where they had a 30 strong gang that managed to get barred from every dance hall in London! They always lead from the front, steaming in with fists, head butts, knives, bayonets and bike chains.
Like any hard guys though, there is always someone that bit tougher (George Cornell!) and like most other gangsters , weapons are then used.
But they were certainly feared by 99% of people.
Prison of course, after a while, broke both of them mentally and physically.

Were they; you need to do a little more research, about this era & the London criminal underworld, of this period. Cornell/Moody were definitely not petrified of the Krays; it was probably the other way around.

It's no coincidence ron did this ONE DAY after the Richardsons were arrested, he wouldn't have dared otherwise. It shows ron was wary of the Richardson gang. It makes him look like a sneaky coward to be honest.

Ronnie was in prison with the Richardsons and they didn't say or do shit about the Cornell killing.

@@user-mc6ep6ll9v you're obviously biased in favour of the krays, or dumb. Which is it? Be objective and use some common sense. If he would've, why didn't he? Do you honestly think its a coincidence he shot an unarmed man, which is very brave, within 24 hours of Eddie and Frank being arrested? Its common knowledge the krays were wary of the power of the richardsons. The krays didn't lay a finger on the Richardsons when they attacked Eric Mason with an axe.

In short. East end based dock gang from the late 1800's / early 1900's. Use of large container ships and the reduced importance of London docks meant that the Watney Streeter's eventually disappeared.

Ronnie Kray was becoming too volatile to kill so openly. Nipper Reid was God's servant to curb monstrous evil. Romans 13:4 For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.
