- This video shows the entry and exit of different weight bowling balls hitting the pins. A ramp was used to roll the balls and the only difference between the balls is the gross weight.
14# for the win!
Less fatigue, higher speed, higher rev = more energy to transfer to the pins.
I just started back bowling I'm 45 now I was 19 when I use to bowl. So, I went with a 15lb radical double cross. It's a urethane ball, that's all I ever throwed. But, today I order a reactive ball the Knockout. I hoping to get movement out of the ball. The only problem is I had to order a a lighter ball cause of all my hand injuries over the years and how it healed. But I really liked this video
I throw a 14 pound right now and leave to of corner pins would a 15 give me better carry?
Carry is a function of entry angle not ball weight
@Ronald Hickland Jr pretty good angle into the pocket but consistently leave 10 pins all the time I tried moving back side left no matter what I do I continuously leave them I have a different style of bowling I tend to lofts the ball because of my slow bowling ball speed and was told that I get a lot of deflection because I only throw a 14 poundl this is why I'm asking
@@allenthomas914 sounds like your probably a stroker hitting the pocket with a "flat" entry angle. If you use the second dot to the right and your ball rolls over the second arrow to the right try moving a few boards to your left or slowing down your ball speed slightly.
@Chris I already throw the ball to slow so I have to loft the ball to combat that so ton of people in my league and team saying I should move up to 15
I would like to see the deflection on balls that miss the pocket
To me this video says if you dont need to throw 15 or 16 lbs any more 14 just as good.
Exactly. I think it is pretty obvious that with today's ball most people can throw 14 and not really lose anything. I have a really bad knee and I'm almost certain I'm going to go to 14lb when I get my next ball.
LOL, thats why I leave a lot of 8 pins.
+Bert Sawyers Jr the new ball of today have so much grip that Carrie should not be a problem. the new weight blocks are almost standard in 12 to 16 lb balls now. if your sticking 8 pins because losing energy to fast.
