I used to use an old cigarette case as a business card case and having seen multiple posts from you guys on RUclips and Instagram, I am tempted to shop around for a business card case
For about 15 years now I use two cases. I use a leather simple case to carry on my person and I use a stainless steel card case in my bag or attache. I do not overstuff either so that way the cards glide out easily. Before I used a repurposed metal cigarette case, but it was too large for my needs. Another great video guys!
I’ve been using a “business card case” as a wallet for over a decade. So-called “minimalist” or super-thin wallets mostly seem to be unusable garbage. I found a great Samsonite-branded business card case (at an office goods box store) that makes a great wallet (but like actual wallets, wouldn’t be the best card case!). I’ve gone through three of them. I keep cash separately in a money clip. I’ve got to go see whether you’ve done an ultimate guide to wallets and money clips.
I like how Preston wears point collars. Very traditional. It seems like most stylish gents trend towards spread, so it’s unique. I like point collars with moderately long points (3”-3.125” or so).
I found your channel just in time. I'll be getting back in business VERY soon. I've been out of the loop for enough time that the coaching you provide is highly beneficial! 😀
Great video. One of the first things that my boss told me to get when I moved to Asia was a card case. Some of the more affluent business crowd consider the card to be an extension of their reputation and would watch how you handled yours and theirs if given one.
Great video! Some future topic suggestions: a video on stylish canes/walking sticks, a video on how to smoke like a gentleman, a video on credit cards/budgeting like a gentleman
It’s funny that you have my exact card case on here in the “Do not use” section. I’m a physician and during the pandemic I switched from what you called the simple leather case to the that blue metal one you showed that “shoots” out my card. People got skittish about being handed anything directly during the pandemic in the hospital setting. That gimmick case provided a rather elegant solution.
I wonder if any of those guys cared about the cards aside from the protagonist and they were making a big deal over it just to mess with the protagonist who clearly obsessed over details.
Preston looking as cool as the other side of the pillow...I remember being a kid thinking how cool I would be when I could hand someone my card. Well I got the cards still waiting on the "cool" part 😆
In Japan, business cards are still very important at first meeting and are not put away until the business is concluded as this would suggest rudeness to the customer/business person.
Hello there, I've been a subscriber since two months. I'm 18 years old currently and I wish to have better clothing in my wardrobe.. I enjoyed your hairstyle and shaving guides a lot and other videos aswell! It's just that I feel pulled back by my friends (they probably aren't even friends) whenever I try to dress up, even when it means wearing a classic denim jacket.. I do hope to have a rather smart Blazer by the end of this year so I've started to do my savings already. Regards from India.. :)
Hello! I kindly recommend something that is good quality. i.e something tat fits you well, skillfully sown, made up of natural materials and has the proportions that are classic and not modern. You need to do some research on this topic.
@@keshavrao212 thanks a lot for the advice.. I'd do some research and it's quite possible that I'll get them from a local store, because online Indian market is kind of stale when it comes to buying blazers/sports coat/over coats... Like, it literally suggested me to buy a cardigan when I searched for a blazer :/
@@devansh1727 True, Indian online market is very diluted for specific items. You can get them from local store? I dont think so that there would be any quality suit with classic proportions. Do or just follow what I suggested, you would get a sport coat or a suit that is breathable, comfortable, dapper and majestic.
Can you make a video about walking sticks? I find them very stylish and as a person with a walking disability, they are a great help with walking. I pruchased a Monopod to use as a walking stick, but I want to upgrade to a real one made of wood
I would like to see your card case with a vertical design, as someone who designs and makes business cards for a living I can tell you the vertical design is classic and striking in contrast and I would love to see your take on a vertical case design
I'm curious about your comment regarding a vertical design. I'm a leather craftsman and have some interest in your thoughts on the design of such a case. I'm not sure if I can help, but if you would like to discuss, I'd be happy to
Could you do a video on academic regalia? I am graduating from university later this year and there is very little information on how to look your best when wearing a gown.
I believe scully & scully make the near exact product as shown here for $85. The metal casing looks exactly the same and highly suspect they come from the same factory.
Would be interested to hear your recommendations on how to accept a person's business card. E.g. body language, what to say, eye contact, and where to put it. Have a great day.
I have a case from Brooks Brothers, leather made by a company in Germany that looks an awful lot like the ones you showed from Fort Belvedere. I’d bet they came from the same factory.
Maybe, but the factories all copy each other. I used to design and sell swords. After a year or two, other factories in other countries would be selling 'my' designs. Sometimes I even switched suppliers and saved money when I found out, since I was now buying one of 'their' standard designs...
Very informative as always gents thanks! Truly curious. Any thoughts on the Untuck it brand? I've been looking into them since unfortunately a majority of shirts I get for at home wear tend to be a bit long and baggy for my taste. I'd love to find long sleeve t shirts that have a short enough hem designed to be untucked and that'll save a trip from going to the tailor. Anyway you get my point thanks for the valuable info as always.
Aw, Preston always got a pun ready, I get to host and plan my oldest great niece's baby shower and I have already got an outfit for her two year old boy long sleeve shirt or short sleeve dress shirt, tie, vest ,dress pants, and shoes but they want him to be with someone when the baby shower is 😞
This may be a controversial opinion here, but I think business cards are one of the worst ways to get in contact with someone. This is because many, if not most people don't have the organizational skills to call you back, even if they want to. The best way to get in contact with someone today is to take their phone number as a first (and almost always viable) resort, exchange cards as a second (though many don't carry them anymore), and give them yours as a last resort.
When I've taken that approach, I've ended up with numbers in my phone and forgotten who they were/what they do. Really the only sure-fire way to connect with someone you meet is to take *their* card, and diligently reach out to them yourself within a day or so. I never expect anyone to call me.
i have a boys wallet because is small and have enough space but the coin´s part with the :button: is tearing probably will buy a new wallet by the end of the year
Sorry Sir I use steel business card holder which can hold 15 cards which is cheaper in price then your not quality but I use it as my daily wallet. My things are safe in it.
Who’s he when he’s at home? The expression comes from ladies’ calling cards, told not just their name, but also when they would be ‘at home’ to receive visitors.
I was disappointed that the green velour interior Fort Belv. case is out of stock. I left my email address so I can be notified once one is available. It's a beautiful looking case for my letterpress calling card.
Impressive, very nice, let's see Paul Allen's guide to Business Card Cases
Let's go to Dorsia to have a look!

look at that subtle off-white colouring.

I always use a business card. You have encouraged me to find a stylish vintage case.

Agreed, living in Japan, this video is relevant. Wouldn't have thought so to the same extent if I lived back in England Where in Asia did you end up?
I always enjoy your presentations. I've felt there is a loss of late with a care for style. I'm glad you continue to promote good taste.
your outfit is really dapper today, like very much the color specialy the shirt

Yeah I'm afraid of that aswell. ((Btw your suggestion seems to be incomplete (?), was there something after the final sentence?))

What’snwith the Pail Allen jokes?
Impressive question. Very nice. Let's hear Paul Allen's punchline.
I'm thinking about ordering but neither on the website or while watching this video they don't mention how many cards this case holds?
Please do a video on how to ride a horse carriage to go from NYC to LA
When are they going to be in stock?
If you are going to allow Preston to drop bad puns, please also allow him to sing some Bobby Darin.
The avoidable designs r better than my rubber band 😅
I have metal (aluminum) business cards. There isn't a need for a case, right?
