Hi Mark from Australia.. l need to look this hike up. You said you left from Urdon on the Tresviso hike and did l notice you finished on the Cares path? And one more thing ..... does it have snow on the path you took all year round? Dianne
great video! i am planning to go in early april...i would like to find a 5-6 day hike in the area with my dog, wild camping all the time..do you have some advices about whether need crampons/snow shoes/ice axe? and also any issues with wild camping there or taking a dog? thanks and great story u tell.
Sorry for the late reply, hope it's still actual. You don't need crampons if you are not planning to visit the highest peaks, and as I know refugios are still closed in early April so you'll have to bring all the camping gear with you. Can't give you any advice on weather conditions in early April but in early March it was doable if you are a hardcore camper and don't afraid of occasional snowstorms. As I know, if you stay away from the crowded areas (Cares Gorge was crowded even in early March) you will have no problems with it. As for the doggo, be advised that in villages or near the cows you can meet shepherd dogs and they are really big but friendly toward humans, don't know how they will react to your dog. And in some areas, you can meet really curious wildlife, so it's a good idea to keep a dog on a leash. Hope you will have an amazing time and the doggy will love it
There are a lot of places to stay, but you should check it yourself, I was told that in a high season they are mostly booked and you should care about it beforehand
hi, i'm really curious about something. The season only opens in mid april, were the refugios open for you? or was it just the designated areas? went there last year in the summer and i really want to do a trek in early spring as well.
I was told that refugios were closed, but as I heard later that means that there are no workers, and in theory you can stay in the “closed” refugios. But I didn’t check that
Hi Mark. What a brilliant video! Thanks for taking us with you! I am only a beginner hiker. I made this video: ruclips.net/video/lOmCtCbkjZw/видео.html. I hope you are planning another hike and video, I’ve subscribed so I don’t miss it! Jackie

Great video. Is there many places to stay? Whats the longest you have had to walk to get somewhere to stay?

Amazing.... anyway that was a year with very little amount of snow. You can hardly trek in march so many years.
How many days?. Can you share your track?
Around 7 days, but I took a several days of for reading and sleeping
Didn’t track all my hikes, but some of them you can find here www.alltrails.com/members/mark-gaidansky
