*Small Clarification: It wasn't entirely accurate for me to say Ramana "Invented" self-inquiry. I dont mean to suggest that he invented inquiring into the nature of self. It would be more accurate to say that he popularized a more simple and direct version of it, popularly known as "self-inquiry", although, as someone pointed out, has its roots in ancient advaita teachings.
Alex, love always & never tire of your brilliant pointed pointers. Love it when you talk about Sri Ramana. Please continue talking about him. Alex, you’re definitely a gifted teacher of Advaita 🙏🏽❤️
So shadow work is absolutely necesary? I have the same couple of negative thoughts 24/7 that triggers a void-like emotion on my chest, and that triggers the same thought becoming a loop: thought - emotion - thought. Should I, from this 'zoom out' state of being aware of awareness, feel the feelings as they arise? Is this shadow work? My intuition is showing me a lot of this shadow work conncept lately 🙏🏻🔥
It's not necessary to realise your true nature. If by "shadow work" you mean emotional releasing, that is necessary to feel calm and regulated in the body. That is the basic element of shadow work, but the term usually refers to exploring the content of the mind too.
I talked to Alex a few days ago. Overall a very nice and insightful guy. But I learned a very big lesson from interacting with him - inspite of being 'self-realized', the 'separate self' can always emerge to push/manipulate for a sale or some kind of gain. As much as we are all divine, we are all still very human and flawed
Hi there, Thanks for your comment. As far as I'm aware, I gave you all my free content, free support and suggestions on the call, and presented you an offer with a reasonable discount if you let me know within a few days. And I haven't received any follow up correspondence from you. Can you please tell me exactly how you feel I pushed/manipulated for a sale? Feel free to send me a private message if you like. Peace, Alex
@@AlexShailer You said you wouldn't be able to meet with me in July because you will be traveling, so I must meet with you starting now. But when discussing paying now, then starting sessions in July. You said you would be able to meet in July inspite of traveling. Please don't take this personally. It is just a learning of mine - ego is always there to protect to gain regardless of "awakening" or not. That is the whole point. the Point is not about you.
Ok, thanks for your feedback! Apologies if there was a miscommunication, but that's not what I remember saying. I was happy to see you in July as I am seeing clients whilst I'm travelling in England. I now remember offering to take a small downpayment if you wanted to reserve the spot, and gave you time to think about it, but didn't receive a response. Again, if I remember incorrectly and did infact miscommunicate something, I apologise. I also endeavour to be clear in all my communications.
@@AlexShailer It was not a miscommunication, but it was ok - it happens. But now you're just saying things that's factually false. Let's just drop this. I have learned a great deal from this experience - that life is a day-to-day thing and whilst awakening can help a lot, we still live life as flawed humans one day at a time.
the guy that "invented" self inquiry? that doesnt sound right, for the fact that self inquiry is not something that someone once invented. Maybe he brought it to the mainstream, or made it popular among certain cirlces, but self inquiry is an activity of the self, not an invention...imo of course.
Maybe he is talking about the concept or the practice that comes from advaita but yeah, I agree, that is like saying that developing intuition was invented by some guy
Perhaps it wasn't correct for me to say "Invented" but rather "Popularized a more direct, simplified version of it" or something. What I mean is, the specific practice that is popularly known as "self-inquiry" ie. Only focusing on the question "Who am I?" to eventually have the "I" thought destroyed and the Self realized was a specific simplified practice created by him, but as you say, was ultimately a refinement of earlier advaita teachings. I will pin a comment clarifying this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I am mr nobody. If you think you are special, you are stuck in the slavery of your ego.
I don’t think he was referring to you, but he’s right it’s a recurrent theme. @Flying-Dutchman66 Not unlike many things in this world though, we all have bills to pay and it’s not because you’re awaken that suddenly everything will magically solve itself. You won’t worry about it but if you can get by a little better by sharing non-duality teachings I see no problem in that. What I have a problem with is people like Sadhguru who build an empire around this and also share pseudoscience that’s not backed by anything other than himself.

Thanks a lot Alex! Yes I was talking about emotional release. What Tolle calls pain-body, and how repressed feelings arise even after awakening

What did you pay for this video?
