I was injured in 2003 in Afghanistan by an IED blast. I sustained a traumatic brain injury, severe PTSD and spinal issues. I'm not bitter at all. I'd do it all over again for all of you. I had to seek mental help and I worked on it extensively for the last few years. Happy Veterans Day. Some of us are still fighting a silent war. Some are still in combat. Think of them. Think of us.
I have deep honor and reverence for men like you. Thank you for your sacrifices so we can all sit here on our keyboards, cameras and microphones to praise, or disrespect the flag and have the right to do either. Thank you for all of them no matter how big or small they are. I can't begin to imagine the hell you have endured in the name of service and sacrifice, and i understand that i cannot do anything but express my sympathy in that regard. When i was a boy, i wanted to join the military as i come from a family of seamen on my father's side, i have heard plenty of stories, sometimes hilarious, sometimes terrifying and sometimes both, but i was unable to go due to getting very sick later in life. Regardless, thank you for keeping our lives out of the hands of people who wish us harm and death, godspeed Mr. Sparx.
Starting at 2:10 you can see a veteran in a red jacket with "Semper FI" written on it. That man is a marine from WWII that served during the Battle of Iwo Jima. I had the honor of meeting this man three times, he told me how he was part of the battalion that planted the flag on Mt. Suribachi, but was out of the camera frame himself. He witnessed a man get killed by a Japanese sniper right in front of him, kamikaze planes diving at his fleet while American planes intercepted them and a hellscape no man had ever seen before. But yet after the war he became a missionary in the South Pacific bringing the word of Jesus to those who never heard of him. I am not worthy of meeting such a legendary man.

My grandfather was at The Battle of the Bulge. He never talked about it. In 1983 I graduated Basic Training and had two weeks leave before I had to report to AIT. I went to upstate New York since my parents were visiting my grandfather and more family. Every morning I was religiously doing my PT and would run the mountain roads around my grandfather's house. One day I came back and he was sitting on the porch with two cups of coffee. We sat talking about what I wanted to do and then he began talking about Bastonge and he shed a good bit of tears. I had never seen him cry till that day. It made me appreciate all the men and women I would come to call my brothers and sisters for the next 25 years.
I want to thank my Dad, a humble guy from Paterson New Jersey for his service. He joined the day after Pearl Harbor. I think of you Dad every day, and I thInk of all those men and women that have served and those that have given the ultimate sacrifice. I ALWAYS STAND FOR THE FLAG!! SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE!! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS ALL ACTIVE MILITARY AND VETS FROM EVERY BRANCH OF SERVICE.
My Grandpa was born and raised in Paterson! He Enlisted in 1954 in the USAF and was a cryptologist stationed mostly in germany and then in alaska where he stayed and raised a family. He retired from the air force after 20 years and joined the postal service. He worked another 20 years, retired, and then joined the army corp of engineers as a civilian contractor at the fort richardson AFB in anchorage, alaska. The commute was 40 miles each way and he did it for 20 more years before retiring for good. He's like a father to me. Unfortunately he has parkinsons and the last 2 years have been especially rough but I have devoted myself to helping him. I'm grateful he never saw direct combat but there are still things he can't talk about today due to it being still classified.
This is an ad I will happily support along with its truest statement. All they really need is for us to listen. These brave men and women have put their lives on the line for us. The only thing that they're asking from us as Americans is to respect the flag that they faught under. To remember their fallen Brothers and Sisters in Arms. To love and support Vets with PTSD, and to give their voice a chance to be heard. They will always love the Nation they have served. They deserve their due respect from everyone. If anyone has it in their heart to burn the United States Flag, or give it a knee in disrespect, has either no brains or no heart in my opinion. It will be a happy day for my Country if and when those types would develope one or the other. Thats all I have to say about it. So today, on Veterns Day one Patriot says: Thank You for your sacrifce and service to securing our Freedom. We want to hear your stories.
As a Marine Veteran and a soon to be first time 44 year old dad, Im excited to have someone to tell my old war stories to for the next 18+ years. And I will continue to honor my fellow brothers by always leading by example, teaching my soon to be son to have courage, trust ,compassion, and to always set the example on what it is to be a good human. I have mixed emotions about what my real purpose had wrought during my time in, but I strongly believe the Military has made me a better human with tools to protect a noble way to try to live your life and one i will instill in my son.
Thank you to my grandfather and many others in my family and every other veteran out there for your service! We appreciate you so much and can sleep safely at night because of you!

My grandfather, who was 86, just passed away yesterday. He was a Korean war veteran and he used to tell me lots of stories about his time overseas guarding convoys, going on leave in Japan, and nearly getting run over by a supply truck. Although I am sad for his passing, I am also glad he is not suffering anymore from late stage Parkinson's and is in a better place. The Korean War is probably one of the most forgotten American-involved conflicts in the 20th century. Lest we forget the efforts of our unsung heroes in Korea who fought to keep America, Korea, and our allies from totalitarian subjugation. May their stories not be forgotten.
This guy only has 5k subscribers! That needs to change! Andy, much respect for bringing these stories to life through first hand accounts, our connection to the violence of WW2 has faded but the reverberations are still felt today and I know that these stories can go a long way by providing perspective on life during a conflict as massive as a world engulfed in war. Hope his channel receives much more recognition.

And here we have battlefield v with totally inaccurate representation of ww2. I'm sure that for most kids this will be their first touch of that period of history, so it's sad to mislead them the way battlefield does. Most importantly it's not right for these legends in this video. Respect!
Happy Veterans Day. My grandpa served in WW2 in the pacific theater. He was a US marine and fought in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was injured but lucky enough to survive. Before he died he opened up about the war and told us stories about how gruesome war can really be. I’m happy that he opened up about the war so I can pass it down through my family and I’m thankful for all the veterans that fought in wars to keep us safe and free
I am so grateful to honor those who have risked their own lives for our country. Thank you so very much to all Veterans for serving their time on the battlefields. REMEMBER TO 'NEVER FORGET' My great grandpa passed away about 3 weeks ago and to this day I cry 😢 so much that he isn't with us anymore (he fought in the Korean War). Today and tomorrow (and everyday) I pay respect to those families who have lost loved ones that fought for us.
My Grandpa was on a ship about 700 miles off the coast of Japan to storm the beach when they got news that the Atomic bombs successfully detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He died in 2009 when I was 5, but I still love to hear stories about him.
I'm heartbroken that this creature we have as a president doesn't honor our nation's greatest hero's but we as a nation today honor them by saying "THANK YOU FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY AND OUR NATION"
WW II veterans were supported by our society before, during, and after the war. Korea and Vietnam veterans were not supported before, during, and damn sure not after that war. When you see a video like this one honoring vets, you know for sure it will focus on WW II vets and ignore Korea-Viet vets.
Veterans Day, My salute and thank you to all the service men and women that defended our country, past, present or future. And let's never forget the ones who sacrificed their lives and keep them in our hearts. I will always honor you all, past, present or future. Thank you again.
Thank you to all Veterans alive or dead for their bravery and courage. We wouldn't have freedom and a peaceful country without them. God bless America 👏👏👏 🌐🌎🌍
Happy Veterans Day to all those who serve and also to my grandfather who was in the navy. May all those who lost their lives be remembered and honored for all that they did, and those who are still fighting, may they make it home safe.
@Nuclear Fission as you can see many don't think so. And I'm sure in their minds we're wrong and they're right. In the end right or wrong good or bad is subjective isn't it?
I don’t know much about my family and even if they have a history with the army (i think we do) but anyways there is no limit and number that can describe the amount of respect I have for veterans and the love. They are the reason we are called the land of the free! Have a happy VETERANS DAY ❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS ALL ACTIVE MILITARY AND VETS FROM EVERY BRANCH OF SERVICE.
So rewarding. Thanks.
Happy Veterans Day to all the brave heroes who risked their life for us we SHOULD respect you and pay you with appreciation
Happy Veterans Day! I would like to thank all the soldiers and veterans who have kept our country safe. I know our world may not be in the best shape but veterans have made our lives better. Thank you for your service

Growing up I loved to sit with my grandfather on the couch and listen to the stories of his deployment in the European theater of world war 2 and Korean war. I would give anything to have one sit down again.
Thank you for all who served and those currently serving.
Whoever disliked this video is a monster and inconsiderate
I will bet my life there were NO Republicans on THAT list.
nah, its mostly people who is surprised that google is even supporting Veterans day, especially after they supported Clinton
@@puree4427 meanwhile Trump didn't attend the cemetery ceremony because of rain. What a pansy, like his supporters.
and no, I didn't support Clinton -- who lost... so I don't know why people are still bringing her up?? She was corrupt and had a mean agenda. But Trump is hypocritical beyond belief. Blasting players for taking a knee, but can't attend a ceremony because of rain? avoid the military draft many times? What's patriotic about that? He says his mind with no holding back -- which I know you guys love -- but USA is literally the laughing stock of the world right now.
You've heard the stereotype that Americans are dumb. He is reinforcing that, along with his crazy followers. Come on, you got neo-nazis, and KKK advocating him. America fought the nazis in WW2!! and he won't condemn them?? suddenly the nazis are our friends?? Are you sure that's respectful to the veterans?? Also all the crazy conspiracy theorists and the doctored videos and images they produce to condemn the other side. It's crazy how people fall for those things when they're obviously doctored. I mean people thought Pizzagate was real!!! I had a lawyer friend who thought it was true!! we're no longer friends...

Congratulations

This guy only has 5k subscribers! That needs to change! Andy, much respect for bringing these stories to life through first hand accounts, our connection to the violence of WW2 has faded but the reverberations are still felt today and I know that these stories can go a long way by providing perspective on life during a conflict as massive as a world engulfed in war. Hope his channel receives much more recognition.
Soon to be shipped to basic training on January 14th as part of the 91 Bravo Unit U.S. Army!
I cannot wait to serve my country and be part of the community of veterans that came before me. I am more than honored to be joining very soon to keep my people safe. Love you all and god bless the USA
Dear Grandpa, thank you for serving! My Grandpa's birthday is September 28, 1945. He died this year, October 3, 2018. I miss you so much Granpa popo. I'm trying my best for you, always. I didn't know a whole lot about my grandpa and the war and stuff but I'm just thankful for him making it out alive. You are an amazing young man. Thank you for doing this and thank you to all the veterans you served this country -- you are appreciated.
And here we have battlefield v with totally inaccurate representation of ww2. I'm sure that for most kids this will be their first touch of that period of history, so it's sad to mislead them the way battlefield does. Most importantly it's not right for these legends in this video.
Respect!
Mr. Bot, at least change your username.

Happyy veterans day thank you for serving us😃
Happy Veterans Day Thank You To All Who Served!!! Very Grateful All Love And Thanks To You. 💖❤️💕❣️💘💞
Never kneel for our flag 🇺🇸 Much respect for our veterans!!❤️🇺🇸❤️
I am so grateful to honor those who have risked their own lives for our country. Thank you so very much to all Veterans for serving their time on the battlefields. REMEMBER TO 'NEVER FORGET'
My great grandpa passed away about 3 weeks ago and to this day I cry 😢 so much that he isn't with us anymore (he fought in the Korean War). Today and tomorrow (and everyday) I pay respect to those families who have lost loved ones that fought for us.
Lol half of the comments are “Happy Veterans Day” and the other half is ether political stuff or that google is evil or something lol

For the record, universal healthcare and a living wage helps veterans too
My Grandpa was on a ship about 700 miles off the coast of Japan to storm the beach when they got news that the Atomic bombs successfully detonated over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He died in 2009 when I was 5, but I still love to hear stories about him.
Thank you veterans for your service.
To all of the men and woman who served our country, thank you for your service. I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done.
Dude. Awesome kid!!! I have so much faith in this generation.
And then there are kids like me who sees a girl comment on a youtube vid and ask their number or sc zzzzz
Can i get ur insta?
I'm heartbroken that this creature we have as a president doesn't honor our nation's greatest hero's but we as a nation today honor them by saying "THANK YOU FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY AND OUR NATION"
WW II veterans were supported by our society before, during, and after the war. Korea and Vietnam veterans were not supported before, during, and damn sure not after that war. When you see a video like this one honoring vets, you know for sure it will focus on WW II vets and ignore Korea-Viet vets.
D Storm we still got a couple of decades to do that. Ww2 vets are dying out real quick
Veterans Day,
My salute and thank you to all the service men and women that defended our country, past, present or future. And let's never forget the ones who sacrificed their lives and keep them in our hearts. I will always honor you all, past, present or future. Thank you again.
Thank you Veterans!💙🇺🇸

@Nuclear Fission as you can see many don't think so. And I'm sure in their minds we're wrong and they're right. In the end right or wrong good or bad is subjective isn't it?

I don’t know much about my family and even if they have a history with the army (i think we do) but anyways there is no limit and number that can describe the amount of respect I have for veterans and the love. You are helping to preserve Our Nation’s history from our Veterans that gave of their lives in defense of Our Nation and the many countries that needed our help in the terrible time of WWII. Again, I thank you and will always say May God Bless America and Her Veterans.

That being said, I am not a veteran, but I was taught from a young age to have the utmost respect for our soldiers.
We, as a country can NEVER say thank you enough to our veterans!!! Although it may not mean much...THANK YOU, to everyone that has ever worn the uniform and proudly served our country!!! Just remember, if it wasn't for these men and women, we wouldn't even have a country.
