Taylor would have had a summer single, especially around the announced LoverFest and it’s most probable Cruel Summer would have been it.
Cruel Summer is undoubtedly a fan favorite from Lover, so I wouldn't say it kind of 'flopped' at all. I wish so badly that we could've seen a full Lover tour 💔

But if you choose to release the other songs you don't find that appealing what will happen is, people will come to like them anyway because of the repeated times they listened to them as well as they'll like the other great songs that were not singles, so people will have an album where they will most certainly love at least 6 or 7 songs. You may not buy an album if you like just a few songs in it, but 6 or 7 you most definitely will. People say she doesn't know how to pick her singles, she knows exactly what she's doing 😉

I think The Man would have been like Delicate but radio stations dropped it too early. Plus, it's one of the best songs on Lover in my opinion because of it's powerful message, it has a great instrumental and has a bridge that is so underrated but the chorus is a hit or miss for me, 8/10.

What we have to remember is WHEN Lover came out. She released it and “Me”..... giving us all Easter Eggs and seeing non-scary Taylor back from the grave... so to speak. Then she released “You Need To Calm Down” And then “Lover”.... now the WHEN happened... COVID Pandemic hits. If you all go back, she was planning festival type concerts for that album. Then everything shut down. We do not know if she would have released it next.

Don’t Blame Me was originally made for Fifty Shades Darker, but she went with I Don’t Wanna Live Forever instead. Don’t Blame Me was my absolute favorite from Reputation for awhile. Getaway Car should’ve also been a single. End Game was a great music video, but Don’t Blame Me or Getaway Car would’ve charted must longer and higher than End Game. LWYMMD served its purpose and has one of the best music videos ever!
