It might be a daft question my music stand has holes in to but are the holes ment for something.
Not daft at all, I always thought it reduced weight, which it does, then I was told by a manufacturer that reducing the weight at the top of the stand makes it more stable and less likely to tip over, which makes sense. I can't say in practice it's enough for me to prefer these over other stands, actually I prefer a solid stand for being able to annotate music.
Great video - you omitted saying the price of this stand. Now I understand why. The bag you carry it in is more expensive than many other stands at £25 and the stand it’s self £95! That really needs to be made clear oh and that’s without postage costs!
Thankyou for your comment. I deliberately don't give prices as they are different depending on country and I made the video several years ago and prices have changed quite a bit. I take your point about the Hercules being more expensive but it is a very solidly build and quality stand if you are using them alot. Manhasset stands are also a more premium stand but excellent in design and function.
Very clear and straightforward. Thank you
A lot of stands I see have these little wires on the front to hold music in place but I feel like for me they'd get in the way or prevent me from easily turning pages more often than they'd actually help, you can see them on the Hercules stand. Does anyone know if these are removable or where I could find a stand without them?
Interesting Jason! having just played a gig outdoors, I was pleased to have them and my music stands are always covered in additional little clips, but I also use multiple stands to avoid page turns. I haven't checked the Hercules (will try soon0 but all of the other stands in the house the arms just pull out of their little sockets fairly easily.
@@HarrisonmarshCoUk cool thank you!
I need one for guitar class. What's the best one on Amazon? Is this one okay? GLEAM Sheet Music Stand - 2 in 1 Dual-Use Desktop Book Stand Metal with Carrying Bag Folder and Clamp

Hi, when prompted to recommend a specific brand, I think the Hercules stands are great. When travelling with a music stand this is what I take, the bags are well designed too. I hope this helps.
Quite useful, thank you for sharing this.
Hey, so how do you build the stand that's behind you? Cheers
Hi Barrie, thanks for asking assuming you mean my home made wooden table stand, in truth it was made in my grandfathers workshop for holding books on furniture making etc years ago but I will get a drawing up on my website as several people have asked and they are very easy to glue together from off cut timber, similar things are easy to come by on amazon though and they work really well.
Which ones do you recommend to us?
Hercules stands are my personal preference.
Hi Harrison! What brand makes the vented music stand that stays in your studio?
Hi Killah, I am unsure who makes the vented stand in my teaching room, probably stagg or similar. Certainly I think Hercules make the best shop bought stands at the moment.
We use that as church podium Lol
Great contant
by a Manhasset it will save your day
Hi, yes I have used them in studios etc and they are indeed great stands.
