This was so insightful and nostalgic to hear about their eras, need more content like this from Sky
Maybe covering other teams. Not just liverpool
what you dont like Neville and Karen Carney talking politics?😂🤣
The thing that sticks out about this is Carragher's passion for Liverpool... You can't buy that level of commitment...

Those games 😢, made me fall in love with Liverpool, Gerrard and Anfield forever. What a battle all over the pitch, what an atmosphere at anfield!
The 2005 semi final, that ghost goal from garcia and that last chance for chelsea, I think it was Gudjohnsen, the ball just went accross the goal and didn’t go in…Incredible emotions ❤
The fact that Liverpool even won a few games against Chelsea back then is unbelievable.
Liverpool was the bogie team for Chelsea.
wat u wafflin ? Liverpool eliminated chelsheet on the way to the Champions League trophy 2005 😂😂, 2007 eliminated chelsea again on the way to the final but bro talk like chelsea is strong 😂😂
Liverpool used to be a robin hood team, steal points from the rich and give to the poor.
@@ducvietphan3300 Chelsea had far superior players and dominated every game against Liverpool, those wins were exceptions, lucky and unconvincing.
they won more in that 7 year peroid than liverpool the past 30, humble yourself mate@@ducvietphan3300
Im a Chelsea guy, and my oldest brother is Liverpool, man, our rivalry back then were so intense.
When our team about to clash on the weekend or Midweek in CL, we never talking each other for about 3-4 day before the macthday. And when we sit in front tv before kick off, that's when my dad (an Arsenal fan) watching us running out our mouth about the match that about to happen 😂😂
Class
Ridiculous...a dad n 2 sons supporting 3 different teams...n from different cities too smh
@@Everton-Valley-2005 not to mention my older sister supports Man United. Well, we growing up watching Premier League alongside our dad. Its because everytime our dad shouting at the rivals, that's when we thought "Ok, i'll support them".
My oldest brother growing up when the Liverpool v Arsenal reach it peak early 90, v United late 90 - early 00 for my sister , and me post Invincible Season when Chelsea bought by Abramovich. We're glad no one pick Tottenham, thought 😂😂😂

😂😂... the Tottenham and Man City spots are reserved for your kids
@@lukmanaliyu7386feel sorry for the kid who picks spurs.
Although i admire klopp but I firmly believe if Liverpool had benitez against real Madrid in those two finals he would have won us at least one. Against that ac Milan team in 2005 he made so many tactical switch and timed it so well. Remember his tactical prowess shone at valencia where he put such a tactical masterclass always compact.
Chelsea were magnificent during this era. Drogbas turn on carra lives in my subconscious 😂 cracking games!
Some goal that. Blink and you miss it
Chelsea fan since I was a little kid but that was the only Chelsea game I've ever been able to see live (i'm Australian)...amazing memories and incredible goal
That Eidur Gudjohnsen last minute shot across the face of goal at Anfield in the semi finals 2nd leg champions league was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life.
I'm 99% convinced even right now that it went in lol
we need more of this. Proper insight. Would love summa like a Salah and De Bruyne breakdown of what each team did to counter each other, in the future
Genuinely belive that era was the greatest in premier league, that rivalry made the difference the Jose v Rafa v Wenger v fergie plus the European nights will never be topped - Chelsea fan
This was what I grew up with as a Liverpool fan. Looking back I look on these games fondly but as a Liverpool fan these games were so draining even as a fan. Bar Gerrard & Carra playing out his skin our team wasn’t even good enough to compete but we did.
Sami Hyppia?
@@joecurran2811 was a good player a really good player at that, but Rafa bought in Agger Jan of 2006 who went on to partner Carra in most of the games. Hyypia was good for our standards but wants top 5 defenders in the league
Liverpool under rafa so dangerous
Alonso mascherano? Keep lying to yourselves
@@VinceBond-ky2ztWow two players!
Liverpool, Rafa vs Mourinho were a very different intensity to Klopp's Liverpool vs Pep's City. It is hard to explain if you weren't watching then during that period because they played each other so many times from 04-07. A stupid amount. It goes beyond Jose being sacked too.
I despise Chelsea with every fibre of my being, but that 4-1 loss at Anfield was up there with the best EPL performances I have seen against Liverpool because Liverpool were actually very good that year too. But under the lights especially, Rafa had something over Jose in those European nights.
Rafa was a top tier manager/head coach then. Liverpool under him were 1 or 2 positions off being the complete package. Liverpool were a team no one wanted to draw in Europe. His Valencia side was good too.
You despise Chelsea with every fibre of your being? 😂 did they hurt your family or something? It's just football clubs mate. I've been a Chelsea fan for over 20 years and all i thought of liverpool as annoying opponent who makes our matches entertaining. That's it. Don't be a stan, you'll age better.
Benitez and Mourinho was personal
he meant it in a rivalry way..@@RafeeqManalody
Fascinating listening to two top players...those champions league games were epic...Big characters all over the pitch.
If you are playing against Chelsea and as a defender you are not worrying about where Lampard is on the pitch when Chelsea switch the ball to the right, then you are in big trouble. The odds are he'll arrive in the box and score.
The fact lamps scored 200 plus with worldies in front of him from midfield is mind blowing…
Rafa had peak Jose’s number back in the day… Jose couldn’t deal with his teams. Rafa legend for life…
Jose beat Rafa more than he lost to him
Tactical Masterclass with Lampard, not words I ever thought would be put together.
one of the smartest player but a different story as manager
Great players, great rivalry. Thanks!
Man that era was peak PL😢
Great content. We need more of lamps talking about that era of Chelsea vs utd, Liverpool and arsenal as a player.
That years epl only have 4 big team , arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester united...spurs and Manchester city midtable team back then never found
If VAR was introduced back then Mourinho would’ve had a UCL trophy with Chelsea
Yeah but then he might lose the final to Milan. Ifs buts and maybes
VAR would have sent off Cech for fouling Garcia and given a penalty which would have made it even easier to win the semi final for Liverpool
Penalty for Liverpool and red card on Chelsea...
Love this and gives great credibility for the long ball which is and always will be a very effective style of play. So many teams now play a very sterile east to read possession game but fail to mix it with a long ball.
This was fantastic
This was brilliant.
Matt Damon and Liam Neeson talking about Football. Golden.

And what cara is 😂

Really good analysis. This is where carragher is at his best. great insight from Frank too
Fascinating stuff.
Thank goodness Frank got his hair back. You look great son.
Thank you, great segment, more of this please. Maybe next time let the former players chat more with each other about the tactical element without the host getting as involved
Was great to hear Chelsea get spoken about, always Liverpool and United because of the usual pundits
Should revisit other teams more, all of them too not just current big 6
Love love this review
Madcherano, gerrard and alonso isn't a poor midfield.
Different days the mid 2000s, that Chelsea team was powerful as well.
Top 3 best midfield at that time, maybe behind milan and barcelon
Liverpools team was good just the squad wasnt
Mascherano, alonso, Gerrard lovely diamond
You need 4 players to make a diamond but I get what you tried to say.
@@edwardoemiliano8018 💎 ?? are you alright, that would be a square
Didn’t think I’d see Lampard and tactical masterclass in the same sentence
Greatest midfielder of the prem
Beautiful video
Frank had to mention the ghost goal 🤣 CARRAGHER COULDNT SAY NOTHING 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant analysis from both former players who were immensely involved into Liverpool Chelsea rivarly at that time and it was really a prolific tussle between both clubs . However, i don't agree with Cara when he said Chelsea came on top because stats shows that both teams at that time were close from each other, Rafa won important games against Chelsea as we can remember in 2005 and 2007 . Rafa was playing really his best football against Mourinho and prevented him from reaching UCL finals . There were very tight games that's true .
Problem was chelsea were winning the league so i think thats what he means
Shame to not mention Torres in this context, he was unplayable against Chelsea which eventually lead to Chelsea buying him.
These vids are good
Lfc are now up against City and their big budget
Take that mid 2000s Chelsea 4-3-3 and replace the foreign players with English players from ManU or Liverpool and you got an amazing England team...
Neville - Rio/Carra - Tery - A.Cole
Gerrard/Scholes - Carrick - Lampard
Rooney - Crouch - J.Cole
But never happened.... always 4-4-2 with Gerrard or Scholes playing in the left or Lampard playing as defensive midfielder...
Wow this was brilliant
For the love of football.
Chelsea vs Liverpool games are always tight
Lampard is talking about Drogba's goal against Spurs in FA Cup semifinals, he absolutely bullied Gallas.
Amazing
So nice to hear about this era when football was actually good and competitive. Before the constant media obsession with Man City
People acting like Liverpool were some mid table team. Proud for a couple of wins? Chelsea's squad may have been a bit better but have some pride. Your team was more than capable of competing and that's why it did.
I saw Lampard when I was riding through South Kensington on a bike, I got hit by a car 10 minutes later.
Rafa was a tactician tbf
The good ol days! when the top 4 was Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea
That footwear must be so comfortable, they're all wearing them......
Gerardddd! 💙
Lampards masterclass😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's so difficult to decode Jamie's accent
Liverpool would trounce today's Chelsea....And I'm a die hard Chelsea fan!
Honestly, I think Cara is doing Liverpool a disservice here.
YES Chelsea were UNREAL then, but, Liverpool STILL won the Champions League in the middle of all this. They wasn’t TERRIBLE lol
you used the words 'tactical masterclass' and 'Lampard' in the same sentence there! 🤣
These titles are as confusing as these two speaking.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lampard is better inside the Studio than inside the Stadium...
Has lampard given up on coaching and will be working at sky now? No banter would legit enjoy him being part of the team
How did they play against each other in the champions League group stage cause your not allowed to play teamd from your country in the same group
I'm assuming Sky Sports issue these pundits with the same sensible footwear for fear of breaking their expensive screen on the floor. Or do they all meet up in Sloane Square and go shopping together in central London?
mastwclass and Lampard 😂
I think carra would’ve been a top top coach if he Persued it
smicer ghost goal...im still mad
Liverpool always make teams change formation city done it to
hahahaha
You are only allowed to enter the Sky Sports studio if you are wearing a black trainer with white sole. Some free tactical masterclass awareness there for you.
Ah yes Jamie, the one that stands out there is the only 1 of 5 that Liverpool won 😂
🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
carragher trying so hard and lampard just trying to humour him
Lampard giving a tactical masterclass, you have got to be joking
I was thinking Lampard and tactical masterclass in the same sentence can't be right.... but thank god it was talking about him as a player not manager!
Calling this a Masterclass is like calling me a 5 star chef because I made toast😂
Liverpool and chelsea should carry on this interesting rivalry..this united rivalry is not looking interesting anymore.. just one sided PL matches for long times😢
As soon as I read Lampard's technical masterclass 😭😭😭
You can see why Lampard is the worst coach to ever be in the Prem
masterclass and these two in the same sentence is a crime against football.
I loved Mourinho as a personality for 90% of the time he was managing in the PL but tactically I’m glad he’s in Italy now. His style of football suits Italy but bored the pants off me in the PL.
frankard is not the one who should give tactics class
They hated each other. That’s why England never won anything
I don’t ever want to hear the names Carragher and Lampard mentioned with the words “tactical masterclass” ever again. I’ve learned more about football watching paint dry.
TNT change that title there is nothing master class in Cara and Lampard, I'd ruther have tactical insight replace that😂😂😂😂
I watched this man live play 5 at the back with a premier league team against a non league side. At home.
Lampard & tactual Masterclass in the same sentence should be considered a war crime.
Lampard and tactical masterclass isnt something i would have put together
Lampard and tactical masterclass in same sentence lol
masterclass 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 …..Carragher and Lampard ??? …Lol 😂
Lampard and tactical masterclass is an oxymoron
What Tactical Masterclass? Jamie Carragher is an ex-liverpool pundit who's never coached a side and Frank Lampard couldn't get Everton out of a relegation zone let alone have any success in his career. They dont deserve to give "Tactical Masterclasses", they both have proven 0 in their analysing careers. Good Players dont make good coaches!
Carragher was a Stones quality CB at best.
Carragher "we avoided trying to play, and booted it over cole"
Lampard " it was so simple and only tiny adjustments"
Sky "masterclass"
Reality = stay in school kids, or you'll end up working for sky 🤡
Am I the only one who didn't understand a single word Frank Lampard said?
Mourinho 2004-06 4-3-3 team was amazing could do everything possession counter attack open a game close a game
Not better than Tuchel’s 4-4-3
@@GRMNA5😂😂😂😂😂
Everything except entertain
@@ShayshaytonI disagree. Chelsea back then were entertaining.
So good that Wenger and Sir Alex ditched their 4-4-2 and copied Jose’s 4-3-3
Don’t get me wrong, the players are the bulk of the reason for success, but coaches and tactics don’t get touched on enough. I find it fascinating when 2 tacticians come head to head with different styles and ideas, watching it play out in a game with top level footballers is amazing. As a Liverpool fan it feels weird to say, but other than Jurgen, if I had to choose somebody’s team to watch, mine would be a Jose team. The way he shuts down a teams main threats and “spoils the game” is great when it’s not against your team. Need more tactically educated people on as guests to walk people through it and make it easier to appreciate
I dont think the general press emphasised on tactics back in the day - only until it was rly relevant like champions league finals. Social media has also made a huge influence since voices are a lot louder
Shutting down a team with 11 men behind the ball coming out to the centre circle isn’t that sophisticated. Very will drilled and coached yes. Tactical innovations in attacking play is far more interesting.
On the occasions where Jose is in the pundits room his anecdotes and insights/hints about tactics, whether his of old or related to the game they've just watched are always incredible.
they weren't playing like that at the time@@illhavenoneofthat
Jose is such a master. He's not just about tactics, he plays mind games on and off the field. He'll instruct his team to wind up an opponent or be aggressive and intimidate the opponent.
Every time I hear former players talk about Drogba, it makes me so happy that I got to see him in his prime. There are not many players that you can say when they were at their best; they were unplayable. The fact that Drogba was manhandling 2 CB’s by himself is crazy. We won’t see another player like him I don’t think
Rafa really got the most out of his teams tactically. Never the prettiest of styles but incredibly effective, especially against the biggest hitters in the prem
That would be some fun with Jose and Rafa there in the studio listening to them!
Jamie’s loving that set up 😂
Go ahead and throw me at center back - Jamie carragher
lamps is a great pundit, always a good talker
