Is it possible to include the “repeat 2nd/3rd time only” option please?
You should be able to achieve it with a “system break” which is discussed in a previous video. Note that performing a system break resets the measure numbers by default, so would have to manually adjust the measure properties. There may be another way to achieve this that I’m not yet aware of, though.
Hello, you probably mean the "Section Break", which resets the bar numbers. The system break is just like pressing enter when writing text. These symbols have nothing to do with the repeats tho, they are for optical reasons.
I notice that after a repeat barline has repeated a section, it won't do so again if playback later jumps to an earlier point in the score. (This can be seen in the video at 2:21.) Is there a way to force a repeat barline to jump back every time it is reached?
Hello, usually repeats don't get played after a D.S. but you can still force it by selecting the D.S. and checking "Play repeats" in the properties panel.
Where did you find that? I looked for that feature but couldn't it. I have the DS symbol, clicked on it, went to properties and nothing is there related to play repeats. in fact, the only 'play repeats' available is on the top right corner of MS4 under the settings gear button that has that feature of 'play repeats'.@@changein3d
@@1ELiMusic Hey, you will find it in the properties panel of the "D.S. al Coda" element, which refers to the Segno and the coda symbols later. Maybe you were trying that just on the Segno symbol?

Have you added 2 or more bar repeat signs, and multiple "volta" repeats? That would be cool.
yes 2 more is there, just click on "more" at the bottom of the palette

how did go to the Segno sign/instruction to play, after you deleted the instruction and replaced it with the D.S al Coda?
And if this repeat doesn't work? What do we do then?
How do i set repeat to play six times or more?
Right click on the bar, click on "Bar Properties" and then set the "Play count". You'll need to manually add some text to show this visually on the bar, I believe
Can you create a shortcut for Jumps like D.S, D.C etc.?

@@isaacglovermusic8461 obviously, it is still not working, like it should. I am despairing here, after writing 14 pages of a choral SATB score having a 3 x repetition part at the end of the piece which cannot be played back for inexplicable reasons. Now I have to write down all the repetitions without voltas which is really annoying.
It would be neat if when writing a piece with more than one instrument, you could put like a firet time only or second time only. It would definitely be useful.
Thanks for the help. Is there a way to have an “ending” Volta that’s open with the number “3.”? And/or is there a way to make a closed Volta bracket say “1., 2.”?
You can change the text label of any volta to be anything you want in the Properties panel when that volta is selected.
Is bar repeat last two/four bar feature achievable now?
The symbols exist but playback doesn't work yet.
This feature is one of the main reasons I still have to use Sibelius rather than moving on to the otherwise superior MuseScore.
This feature is really handy in jazz, funk and rock where you use a lot of vamps and 2 and 4 bar repeats of patterns... Thanks so much for continuing to pursue the play back option, but just having the notation is GREAT!!!!
There are only 1 to 3 voltas in Muse Score 4. Can you tell me how to add 4 voltas?

what if I want the same bar to repeat 4 times?
When yopu play DS Al Coda, should you play bars 2-4 for the first and second time, or only as for the second time, (thereby leaving out bars 3 and 4)? There is a default that no repeats are played after a DS, so I would have gone straight to the second time
its possible to have the app in french or spanish?
How about positioning a repeat at half bar position? Like if you have a pickup-bar in the beginning (half a bar) and want to get the other half in the end. This way you don't need to work with alternate endings and stuff.
Split the measure at the point where you want to insert the repeat (Tools > Measure/Bar > Split).
Is there a way to use a shortcut for the 'left start reapeat sign' and 'right end repeat sign'?
I’ve tried to add a shortcut myself but I couldn’t fined them in the list.

When i export them to mp3 i wish to make it so it loops because rn it lets the notes at the end die out, is there away to make it loop in mp3?
To export for that purpose, consider adding a repeat/jump to the score so you have the repeating part inside the export.
Or copy the first few measures and append them to the end of the score, giving you a nice overlapping synchronization part for looping in your audio editor.

How do you get the coda section to be set aside like shown in the video?
You can add a horizontal frame to the measure and change its width to what you want

But there is NO keyboard shortcut for repeat signs, and no way of creating one. This means you have to keep going back to the pallets over and over again for certain kinds of worksheets/tutorials where (for example) you want to show to repeat every 4 measure chunk. You also can't copy and paste them.

It really is about time to scrub the old Italianate terminology, or at least permit the option to do so. I *do* wish the app provided mouseover tooltips to explain the meanings in plain words. Some of them aren't even so amenable to googling
