Just four months after starting production of the combustion-engined MINI Countryman, the plant has begun rolling out its all-electric version. As the former home of the BMW i3, this plant is a hub for electric mobility. Now, it manufactures the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (including the plug-in hybrid), BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, and the MINI Countryman in both electric and combustion-powered versions-all on a single production line.
Discover the all-new MINI Countryman Electric, a significant milestone in MINI's journey to full electrification by 2030. Available in two versions, the Countryman E and the more powerful all-wheel Countryman SE ALL4, these models offer an electrified go-kart feel with zero local emissions.
Learn about the continuous upgrades and flexible production systems at Plant Leipzig, which now has a capacity of up to 350,000 units annually. With investments of around 1.6 billion euros, the plant has enhanced its bodyshop, paintshop, assembly, and logistics to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles. By 2024, daily output is expected to rise significantly, showcasing the plant's ability to adapt to customer needs and increase the share of fully electric vehicles.
