Lost my mum a few years back and my one sister who was grieving just like the rest of us became very aggressive and angry but not towards me because my then I had completely cut her off because I did not want the toxicity in my life and told her the next time one of sees each again we may deceased or near dying. Unfortunately 2 years later the next time I saw her and talked to her she was in a hospice in an intubated state and transitioning and she passed away 2 days later of cancer. All that time she had been battling cancer and no one knew. Now I am left to grieve and I feel so horrible that I mentally cannot get out of this rut. If only I had been there for her when she reached out to me and I never responded to her message. Whew... My life has been nothing but a struggle ever since. I find myself some days in really really deep depression.

Well he did say he apologized and he seemed rightly embarrassed by the reality of his words' impact. And she forgave him even without needing his apology. I don't know what else he should have done or said in this moment, his main responsibility was to make no further comments about her appearance which I don't think he did. I don't recall him making jokes about anyone's weight in future seasons either but I could definitely be wrong. Anyway I wouldn't have particularly cared to hear Simon speak more, this moment is about Mandisa extending grace to someone who didn't ask for it or deserve it.
